Bra fitting help » I really like the fit of this bra but?
H&m » Lace Push-up Bra (62-1890) » 75A 34:1
Issue resolved
I had the straps tightened to much. When I let the straps out most of the issues went away.
Original problem
I really think this is one the best fitting bras I own. It's not the best made or the softest material, actually it's kinda cheap. After reading all the fit advice I'm beginning to doubt what I think is a good fit. Is this as good as I think?

helpfulI think you have the straps pulled too tight and that's why the band is rolling and riding up in the back. The back, band should be sitting a couple of inches lower. It may be the right size but too stretchy. Cheap bras often have very stretchy bands. If you're comfortable and happy then by all means wear it, but that's probably #1 on my list of bra pet peeves.

You are absolutely correct. I was wearing the bra today and noticed that the wires weren't sitting flat on the lower outside part of the boob. I thought, "hey, I never noticed that before". Apparently I had the straps just a touch too tight and the wires were sitting on the breast not just below it. I loosened the straps about a .25- .5 inch and now the wires sit flat and, as you suggested, the band doesn't roll under anymore. Sorry I didn't listen to you the first time. I could probably use a 32 but might run into an issue with the wires being too narrow, I haven't had time to to get back to try other sizes.

helpfulIt's not terrible, but the wires definitely look too narrow. If it's comfortable though, I wouldn't worry too much about it. The band might be too loose though. Maybe a 32B might be better in terms of support?

I have that problem with the wires looking that way, I have a wide muscular back (years of gymnastics) but my breasts don't extend that far under my arms.
-
And there's no fat under your underarms? Usually that's breast tissue.
-
Not really any fat, I mean no more so than on the rest of my body.
-
The only reason I ask is because the band bulging in the middle (because it sits on fat tissue that's actually breast tissue) can be a sign that the cup is too narrow.
It's a little hard to see though because of the positioning of your arms. Could you take pictures with your arms akimbo in the future?
-
I will try to add another photo. Just to clarify, all I feel are ribs under my arms not much else.
-
Jillsas It looks to me as if the band fabric could just be a lot more stretchy than the elastic, so the elastic is indenting at top and bottom but the middle of the band isn't. It does seem like a very stretchy band (67cm to 96cm).
-
Jillsas I added another pic with my arm "akimbo" as you say, it's not a great pic but it was the best I could do.
-
Yeah, your bra definitely looks like it's about a half a centimeter too narrow for your breasts. You're all scooped and swooped in right?
-
As best as I can, there's not much to scoop or swoop.

helpfulI think it fits but I don't understand why a band would roll under. Also I would like to see 1 cup size bigger. That's all I can think of. Maybe band rolls under because it's so skinny? This bra is cute on you. I hope that a Mimi Holliday would look as good on me. I also agree with the other suggestion.

I think the band rolls under because it's cheap! plain and simple, but you may be on to something with it being so skinny. It is a cute bra, I will definitely try it on 1 cup size bigger.
-
If you want the same volume 1cup bigger and 1 band smaller. If it feels too small than you stay with the same band size and go up a cup.
-
I think it looks good but wouldn't be cool if the band was 3x how do I say less skinny? Another thing I really like Mimi Holliday bras and this bra kind of reminds me of a cute little Mimi Holliday skinny band type of bra. For migration of any breast tissue that has re located a thicker band would be good. but only like 3x what you're wearing. This is coming from my fashion designer part of my brain. Which I hope to become one day! :D LOL Oh I need to clarify which part of the band I would make 3x thicker. Not the side but the back of the bra. I just looked at your pictures and I like this bra on you.
-
Jasminepetra I added a picture of the bottom of the bra cup and you can see why the band rolls under from this pic. The only part of the band that is right under the cup is the detail edging which has no rigidity.
I agree I would like it also if it were 3X thicker, but they don't make many bras with wide bands for small cups, we just don't need the extra support they provide.
-
Which is silly, because wider also means more comfortable. These ultraskinny bands just cut into the body, even on gals with smaller breasts, unless they're worn super loose, which kind of defeats their purpose. In my pre-preggo '32A' days (probably closer to 28C/30B, but 32A was a rare enough find back when 'serious' bras started at 34B) I've definitely been there and I've never understood why bands and straps have to be this thin in any size.
Having said that, this bra does look cute on you! If it's comfortable and the wires are not sitting on breast tissue, go for it :) I really think that most of the band issues mentioned above are just the result of cheap construction. Measurement-wise you could quite probably do with a band size smaller in this model (32B or C, if those even exist), but I wouldn't be surprised if the extra band tension would only exacerbate the band issues.
With your measurements and muscular built on average I don't think 34 is that far off the mark, though.

MilkAndHoney Thanks, I agree 100% with your statement on wider bands. Anything with wider bands usually means a full cup bra, which I like, but are not very flattering and extremely hard to find in small sizes. I still believe this is one of the best fitting, cup wise, bras I own. But based on its construction it will probably fall apart soon enough and I won't have to worry about any of the other issues with it.

I think you would have luck with bras from The Little Bra Company. They make smaller cup sizes, and are better quality. Here's a review: http://www.investinyourchest.co.uk/the-little-bra-company

The band is perfectly level and sits just under my shoulder blades. This is tough because in my last fit request I was told the band sat too low and i needed to crank up the straps. too much conflicting information for me.
