Issue resolved
I believe another kind of model will be better for me with smaller band.
Original problem
Hi, I´m new here and I need some help. I have known about proper bra measuring for quite some time now but I just can´t seem to find a bra that fits me.
I got this Amira because I desperately needed a plunge but it just doesn´t fit correctly. It sits lower than by breast, despite my attempts of trying to get it to stay higher. There is also some wrinkling there.
The cup is gaping at the top but it I seem to fill the bra otherwise. I think that the cup is just too tall for my shape.
The straps also seem to be too wide, but that could be because I´m quite petite.
And the underwires seem to be about 1cm too wide in my armpit while simultaneously dig into my breast tissue in the front.
That seems to be the problem with my other bra in my size as well, I´m just a bit lost here. Any help is appreciated.

helpfulIt looks like you are part of the short boob club.
Basically, you need a certain cup-size to fit the depth of your boob, but your apex/boob height is lower than the "standard" shape. This usually means gaping, especially at the tops and the outer tops where the straps are too wideset. Often you will have wrinkling or outright folding between the apex of the cup and the wire because you need less vertical length there. Your boob hits the apex at a shorter height, so your bra cups always shimmy down and/or fold extra fabric to bring the bra-cup apex down to your boob's apex. Pulling up the wire to your fold works for a little bit, but often causes pain by forcing your boob into an upwardly-angled shape that it is not happy about. And, eventually, the cup shimmies back down.
You actually might do well with a Braologie bra like MilkAndHoney.
I also found that Panache Andorra Full Cup (5675) with its stretch lace is okay (so far).
I also suggest something like Chantelle Rive Gauche 3 Part Cup (3281). I would wear it, but I'm sized out of their bras. I think they go down to 30, but not sure if they go down to a 28.Overall: stretch lace and/or half-cups are your best starting point.

If you're petite I wouldn't recommend Braologie as it's got quite a high wing. I actually just got a 30F Amira as well and am having fit issues :) http://www.bratabase.com/troubleshoot/dhygp/#suggestion-comment-3951

Thanks for help, perhaps this is just a difficult bra or something.

helpfulFirst, thank you to the ladies who provided the info. on "short boobs." I think I might have short breasts, too, as I often have this issue with bras. I often fill out the bottom and middle of a cup, but the top or sides come up too high. The explanation is really helpful!!!
Secondly, as far as suggestions go, I wear a 30DDD/F, and I have recently had good luck with Chantelle, Wacoal, and Natori bras. In particular, the Natori Feathers Plunge bra is really pretty, extremely comfortable, and offered down to a 30" band up to DDD/F. It doesn't offer a ton of side support, but I'm surprised at how well such a light, low-cut bra lifts and holds my girls in place. Good luck!

helpfulAs drownedsalad says, Welcome to the Short Boob Club!
I don't have "close together" or narrow breasts, so I don't have any decent advice for you based on personal experience. Every time I see a photo of a Gossard "Glossies" Plunge Bra I'm tempted to try one, but then I tell myself they appear to be for close-together-narrow shapes. (I could be way off here...) The Glossies plunge bras seem to support from underneath more than pushing together from the armpits (http://www.bratabase.com/search/?q=glossies) so maybe the cups wouldn't have emptiness in the sides. There are way better pictures of the newest models on other websites. It's a great looking bra...but it would never work for me.

Thanks :) That bra looks interesting, I´m a bit wary purchasing a Gossard bra, though. The last one I tried had underwires so wide that they seemed to go halfway to my back.

Do you like plunge bras? I could see you in a plunge bra. I like bras that give me cleavage.
-
Sorry, I didn´t notice you had asked a question. If you´re asking me, then yes, I do like plunges. Mainly because of the issues I have with most center gores and with plunges they are usually not so tall.

helpfulThe bottom of the bra and the wires are most likely staying lower than your breasts because the band is too large. Try a 28 band. Also, if the two bras you bought in your size do not fit, I would suggest retaking your measurements just in case. Try this calculator: http://www.sizemapp.com/en/
It's fairly new and many have had success with it, including me.
In general, many women have issues with plunge styles. Particularly if you have rather soft breast tissue. You may have to experiment a fair amount.Hope this helps

I may have to try the 28 bands. So far I have been feeling comfortable in 30 bands but it could be that I need to downsize.

It depends on the 28 band sometimes. Some do feel oppressive. You can says buy a 28 an use an extender until it relaxes a bit and feels more comfortable. You might also be experiencing the gaping cup with wrinkles at the bottom because the cup is too shallow for your breasts, so they can't fill the bottom because there isn't enough room, so the bra tends to migrate.

Hey,I haven´t been online for months thanks to breaking my computer and traveling a lot. I have since this bra tried bras with 28 band and the fit is much better. Thanks :)

helpfulIt looks like your girls are close set. And the cups looks too small in the center and too big on the outer cup because I think you close boobs. I think if you can't have a 2 finger separation, you have close boobies. It looks like you need more room where the center gore is in the cup and more narrow wires or cups on the outer side. I am new to this so I hope I helped. I think they make bras for close set boobies. I'm not sure.

Yep, I believe that is a correct assessment :) I guess my never ending quest for a good bra continues. I kind of miss the days when I was ignorant of correct bra sizes and fit, it was a bit easier back then.

Thank you :) It makes sense that my boobs would be short since pretty much everything else about me is. I think you are completely right, my boob´s apex seems to be quite low and often bras sit lower that the root of my breast.
