Bra fitting help » Centre gore ok?

Issue resolved
Use chicken filets
Original problem
My left boob is bigger than my right boob. It seems like the bra fits on one side, but not on the other.
The center gore seems like it's sitting on top of my left boob. I'm not sure if this fits or not. It's so frustrating. It's hard to find a bra that fits since my boobs aren't the same size.

helpfulThe gore is good if it doesn't come away from your chest.
Does the sheer part have any stretch? That's what bras look like on me when the top section doesn't have any stretch. I'm full on the top and the bottom. I also think it's too small in the cups or maybe the wires are too narrow. I like balconette or halfcups because they don't cut in at the top.Updated on July 20, 2013 Flag this

helpfulI have this problem as well. Conventional advice is to fit your larger breast, but my size difference is enough that I often find that bras are just a shade too small on one side and clearly too big on the other, so I empathize. I have wished many times that mine were just a LITTLE closer in size.
I agree that pics 1 and 7 clearly show the gore sitting on breast tissue. I think you have several options here:
A). Have you tried adjusting the bra so the gore doesn't sit on breast tissue in the center? I mean, physically shift the bra a half centimeter to the right? Sometimes that works for me, although you have to pay attention to where the wire ends up on your outer breast area when you do that. You could try bending the wire out if you find you just need a little more width.
B) Can you try the next cup size up? Sometimes I find with swooping and scooping, I am able to adequately fill the next size up on my small side. I have empty space in the bottom of the cup on the smaller side, but that you can't see under clothes, unlike wrinkling at the top.
C) It kind of looks like maybe the gore is too wide for you. What happens if you safety pin the ends of the wires closer together? Does that fit any better?
Of course there's always
D) Get a pad or bra insert to even out your cup sizes. I have actually resisted this one, although the one time I tried it while laying around the house (with just a wadded up silk scarf), I did appreciate the effect.

A. Yes, I'll have to try to bend the wires. You probably have the same issue, where one cup fits on boob, but not the other.
B. Possibly. I got this at a thrift store and it was the only one there. I'm afraid if I went UP a cup size then the right side would REALLY gap.
C. I've sewn a couple of my bras' centre gores and that's helped a lot.
D. I've got some at home from EW. I'm on vacay now. But I think I'm going to have to stuff my bra. Though I don't know if EW's will fit this one.

helpfulUgh. I have the same problem. I have no answer, I'm just commiserating. In some of my bra pics this issue is really noticeable, and my bra looks crooked. Bras that have that "U" shaped center gore (almost like a "floating" gore) always, always pull to the larger side on me throughout the day, so the gore winds up cutting into my left boob. The difference in volume is enough that the left side continually puts enough pressure on that gore to drag the whole bra to the left; (see http://www.bratabase.com/bra/dhumf/). Bras with a full-band under the cups (your bra has floating cups) and balconettes, for me, are best for not cutting into tissue like this.
I get what you're saying in your photos, but I wouldn't have seen the side pulling without looking for it. It's very minor. The bra is really pretty and it looks like it fits you pretty well, otherwise. Perhaps F cups would be more comfortable, though, because they wouldn't let your left boob fill the cups so much as to gradually pull the whole bra sideways.

It doesn't have as much stretch as I thought it would be. I think it has pockets for chicken filets, but they'd be at the side rather than the bottom. I'm full on the bottom. I've yet to figure out what bra works for me :( I like the look of balconette bras, don't like plunges, but am short and seem to have cups that dig under my armpit.
