Going up the band size
Original problem
I just got my first Cleo Lucy in 36G which is my usual size (or 38FF) and it's beautiful!
I read many reviews before ordering it online and most bloggers said it runs true to size...
I tried it on and it was obvious from the start that the band is too small, I couldn't even close it. But the cup seems great.I have an extender (3-hook one, though) and with it, I can wear it.
I really like the shape and design (and the price tag) of Cleo bras and would love to order more.
What do you think, should I order a one or even two band sizes up? Or just stick to extenders?

helpfulJust to be on the safe side, have you done this?
http://brasandbodyimage.wordpress.com/2012/09/05/putting-your-bra-on-properly/Because I think I see some fluff that belongs in the cups. And if I am right, the cups may become too small and the band might feel way tighter then it is because of the too small cups.
I also think you might be wearing the bra too low

helpfulThe Stretched band measurement of 30 inches does not seem right for a 36 band. If it was then it would make sense that it felt too tight on, especially if your ribcage measures 42 inch. even with an extender, that would be impossibly tight. Could you maybe check measurements?
That being said I think Cleo can often be a tighter fit than some brands, though I didn't think the Lucy was particularly.

You are right, I didn't stretch it properly, I find I a bit awkward to stretch and measure at the same time. I edited the measurement. :)

Lol, It can be a challenge.. I think I have it down to a fine art now though. :)

helpfulI think the cup is actually too small, and the wires too narrow, you have a descent amount of tissue "leaking" out of the sides.

Hi synchrolover85 , sorry it took me so long to reply, I was busy and didn't have time to properly 'study' the bra.
Some of that 'fluff' might be the fat, as I'm chubby so sometimes the fat and bra tissue get mixed up. But now that I've done a proper scoop and swoop the cup does look a bit too small.

mamainak I'm a bit chunky as well but if you can swoop it into the cup it's breast tissue that has migrated

helpfulI think you should go up to a 38G or even a GG you have a little quadboob and the wire is digging into tissue on the side, meaning the cup is too small.

Ok, thanks!!

Definitely go up a band size, maybe a cup size too. However, that'd be a 38FF or 38G if I'm not mistaken??

Yes, I'm still thinking of going up on a cup size or a band size. I think I might go up a band size, someone told me that if I go up on a band size, the cups will be bigger too, so two problems solved.
-
Yes, a 38G is one cup size up from a 36G. If you wanted the cups to stay the same size, you'd have to buy a 38FF.
-
But isn't 38FF = 36G?

helpfulThis looks like a great fit to me through the cups - just too tight in the back. If it's not too expensive to exchange I would trade this bra for the sister size with the larger back: 38FF.
I gained some weight earlier this year and suddenly discovered that trying to squeeze into a band that is a size too small is actually very unpleasant. You won't wear this bra nearly as much and others you already own if you find the band is uncomfortable.

helpfulI'd try a 38G (or maybe even a 38GG of 40G, but start with a 38G). It looks like a good fit in the cup except for It looks like the wire is sitting on your breast tissue under your arms, and that tissue is escaping at the sides. It looks more like breast tissue than just fat.

Hi Vee , sorry it took me so long to reply, I was busy and didn't have time to properly 'study' the bra. I did a bit more thorough scoop and swoop and have uploaded the new photos.
Nope, the bra is not too low, the cups are filled out.
Also, some of that 'fluff' might be the fat, as I'm chubby so sometimes the fat and bra tissue get mixed up.
