Issue resolved
The overall fit is good and it would allow room for any possible fluctuation in size.
Edit-Ultimately I decided not to keep this bra because of how much it shows under my tops. It's the edge where the lace is attached to the cup that shows through. The lace, while it wrinkles a good deal, is not really the problem.
Original problem
I've tried this bra in a 30D, 30DD, 28E and now 28F. The 28E came close but I still had some cutting in on top in the gore area.
This bra feels like it fits well on the sides and bottom but it's too big along the top edge. It's the lace and top 1/2 inch that gaps, I'm too shallow right in that area.
It's comfortable enough that I would have considered keeping it but that top edge was pretty noticeable under clothing. I'd appreciate some suggestions as to what to try next in a 28 band. I really need to find a comfortable t-shirt bra!

helpfulI don't know where you are on your bra journey, but if you have started recently, say, in the last year (?), I would get the one that is slightly large on top instead of the one that is slight quadboob.
Why? Many of us have found that after changing sizes, our bodies kind of adjust to boob freedom and eventually most of us seem to end up in a slightly larger cup and/or a smaller band. For some of us, this happens multiple times as we go along our journies.
Keeping the 28F that appears to fit you well except for the top of the cups is probably your best bet, at least for now.
Also,
- I think Juna is known to have that lace on the top edge that flares out, so part of it showing under shirts might be that effect and not necessarily the gaping.
- You might find that if you move the straps slightly toward the center that you get a better fit in the top of cup as the pull-point and balance point for support will fit your body better?Updated on June 21, 2013 Flag this

Several months into my journey...I think drownedsalad is right on the money! I'd stick with the 28F if I were you. I have a 28DD in Juna, and I wish I'd gotten a 28F. The 28DD is just tight enough that the pressure causes the band to stretch, which allows my boobs to escape out the sides. A 28F would keep them trapped in the cups better. :-)

@ShaniSunAZ-thanks :)

helpfulI think this looks pretty good, but I am wondering if this is as short as you can comfortably wear the straps? It looks like your breasts are closer together above the gore rather than separated. If you can tighten the straps a little more you may find that you fill more of the top of the cup. If that isn't possible you may need a narrower gore. Maybe you could alter this one.
For your t-shirt bra if you are looking at only padded/moulded cups? Maybe the Freya deco half cup would work. I haven't tried it yet, but it is on my list for when I move from unpadded to padded/moulded.

I do think this is as tight as I can comfortably get the straps. As for the gore, this happens often enough that I should make an attempt at alterations. I haven't come across many narrow gores, maybe Marcie was the best so far.
I'm not set on padded/molded cups, it's just that based on my experience so far they've shaped me a little better. I'll take a look at the Freya deco half cup, thanks again!
-
You know I am partial to my Marcie so that is my current best shape. And the narrow gore is perfection for me. I haven't found a moulded cup that I can fill the top of because of my bottom fullness and rather empty post baby boobies. I look forward to seeing if you can get a good fit in that Freya.
-
Just checking to see if we're referring to the same bra, is it the molded half cup #4232? If so, I think the graduated padding along the bottom and sides might not work well for me. My soft breasts tend to fall toward the middle and form cleavage pretty easily on their own.
-
Yes that is the one I was looking at. The gores look like they will be high enough for me not to spill out of it. Of all the moulded cups it is the only one I have seen that isn't tall in the cup. No I should say that the Cleo Maddie is one I would also try if it weren't such an unappealing print. It is padded though. If you don't like push up it won't be a good match.
I am really hoping you to try some of the Freya unpadded bras. I think they might work for you.
-
I don't care for push up and prefer lightly padded. The unpadded Freyas are definitely on my list to try. Now that my kids are done with school, I'm hoping to take a trip into Manhattan to check out a couple of stores that carry Freyas and 28 bands.

cosmoblue I got a chance to finally try on an unpadded Freya yesterday. It was the Carys in a 28DD and while the band fit well, it gave me a terrible shape! It was too tapered on top and bottom and gave me a pointy(conical) shape when viewed from the side. It did not feel supportive at all either and sadly they did not have more Freya soft cups in my size to try. I'm starting to feel like I'm stuck with molded cups!
-
The freya soft cups are a more pointy than most moulded cups so it is a look that some people dislike. I am surprised that it did not feel supportive though. Some of their bands are pretty stretchy so maybe that is the issue. Although I wonder if it is just the difference in feeling from the moulded cups you are used to wearing? I switched to unpadded styles from nursing bras so they totally were more supportive than my nursing bras. I also get less jiggle than in my too tall moulded cups.
Also the freya gem has a very different construction and you might like that shape better. Also freya padded half cups might be good. I know you tried one in a 30 band but try a 28.
-
It was definitely too pointy for me, I got the same shape in the Panache Tango II and the Panache Andorra full cup. I also got a chance to try on the Freya half cup that you had mentioned. It fit but gives lots of cleavage and made my breasts look wide and very round(not natural). Strange how different bras can give such different shapes. I guess I've gotten used to feeling more supported in moulded cups. In the soft cups I've tried so far, the straps had to be tight in order to feel some support. Thanks for suggesting the Gem, I'll keep that in mind when I'm ready to do some more online shopping.

helpfulI had limited success with the Juna...but it was my first "well fitting bra" after the Freya Deco (which stopped working for me after losing upper fullness. I have gaping in the tops of the cups, and the wires jam into my armpits. The gore is also way too tall for me.
If Cleo works for you (and you fill the bottoms of the cups nicely in the photo so it may), you may try the @Porcelain T Shirt Bra - the gore is shorter. I *think* I can wear it and I need a 3" or lower gore in a 38F/FF. I tried it on in a 38E and there's hope.
I have great luck with the @Cleo Jude, which is being replaced with the @Cleo Neve. Both are corded plunges. I also need narrower gores, and they work for that shape, too.

The Freya Deco did not work for me, too tall and major gaping because I'm so shallow on top.
Thanks for the suggestions!

I'm about two months into my bra journey thanks to a fitting at Intimacy. I still find it amazing that I wore a 34A for years!
I think I've already experienced a slight change in size with the two 30D bras that I currently own. I guess I didn't think it might continue to happen...
Thanks for your comments!
