Bra fitting help » Curvy Kate - Wrinkling in upper part of cups
Curvy Kate » Lottie Balcony Bra (CK1601) » 30DD 30:5
Issue resolved
I tried Panache Porcelain (28F) and that worked. No more Curvy Kates for this girl. Thanks so much for the help, Emmsie and AmethystDragon!!
Original problem
I have several Curvy Kate bras, all either 28E or 30DD. Every one of them wrinkles and puckers in the upper part of the cup. The bottom of the cup, however, feels like the right size, so I am hesitant to go down a cup size. Am I just too shallow to fill out CK bras or should I try a cup size smaller (28DD or 30D)?
Here are some more pics of other styles. They all do some variation of the same thing. The Emily seems especially loose on top. The Romance cup gaps away from my breast (side view photo). All of them show wrinkling even under clothing and do not feel secure on top.

helpfulSo I have the same problem with Curvy Kate. I am full on the bottom, so I fill out the bottom of these bras nicely, but there is always puckering on top. I also have fairly narrow breasts, and the wires on Curvy Kate bras are soooo wide. I have since learned that Curvy Kate bras are better for full-on-top, wide breasts. Since you are filling out the bottom, and not quad-boobing out of the top, I would think you are fuller on bottom and not actually very shallow.
If however, you are sure you are full on top, then I think trying a cup size smaller might be worth while.

helpfulI think you've fallen into a common shallow breast trap! While balconettes are good for shallow breasts, 3-part cups ARE NOT. Usually. You need half cups and balconettes with VERTICAL SEAMS ONLY (no 3-part cups or horizontal/diagonal seaming!!). Try the Cleo Juna.

Vertical seams only. Got it. So I should avoid something like Panache Tango, for example?
Thanks very much, I will consider the Juna. :)

Yes, avoid the Tango

Thank you Emmsie!
I think I may be misusing the word "shallow" in this case. I agree with your suggestion that I'm probably fuller on the bottom. (I wonder if the ones I have are worth keeping or if I should return them and hold out for a better fit.) I'll have to read up on some good styles/brands for full-on-the-bottom ladies!
Anyone else want to weigh in on this? What are some good brands/styles for full-on-the-bottom breasts?
