Bra fitting help » Underwire Causing Slight Discomfort

Issue resolved
Going to try a cup size up in this cut of EM.
Original problem
The photos are without cookies. With the cookies I was starting to get quadboob. Without the cookies it's a lot of cleavage, but no quadboob. My only real issue is that after wearing it for awhile the underwire starts to dig into breast tissue at the bottom of the cup. I'm curious if EM's just have firmer wires, or if I may need to size up? The amount of cleavage put me on the fence a bit about sizing up a cup as well, I feel like it fits, but that a cup size up might be better.

helpfulYes, IMO for optimal comfort and support in this one you'd need to size up.
Because many EM bras are designed to be so low-cut that they can resemble boudoir wear rather than functional undergarments, there's usually two sizes a person can wear... the "doesn't actually quadboob, or not much, but support is minimal and you are busting out of it" size, and then the "not quite as many acres of cleavage but now I can actually wear this all evening" size, which is larger.
A certain blog I shall not mention by name has recently been enthusiastically illustrating the former, busting-out fit and while it certainly illustrates that VS is not alone in being able to provide that sexy, smushed together cleavage look, I'm not sure that presenting it as the norm does the community, or the brand, any favors... yes they are beautiful sexy bras, but the brand's main raison d'etre is that people who aren't well-served by matrix, or even extended matrix sizing are looking for something that really fits well. Pretty, sexy, etc., yes, but they also want fit. Preferably fit that works for more than 20 minutes
For general reference, when you're trying on a very low-cut bra and you're sort of on the fence about whether it is too small or not, instead of relying on quadboob or coverage alone, try to identify where the cup design intends the apex of the breast to be. If it is miles lower than where the apex of your own breast is, then it's not just low coverage, it is actually too small. (This also can cause an oddly droopy appearance under clothes after a few hours, since again the support isn't optimal and a too-small cup will eventually lose the battle against the weight of your boobs.)

It's OK I'm used to it [martyred sigh]
I actually don't remember saying it but I forget a lot of things! So it could have been someone else, or maybe me... lol -
wendybien Thanks for the tips, I didn't visibly notice any droopy appearance, but it gave me a feeling similar to a large band though the band on this seems to be a pretty snug fit. I will definitely size up on my next EM. Going to have to decide if I want to sell/swap this or hang onto it for occasions I want extra cleavage.

Thanks. Cant find that comment I thought wendy made. whatever

It's because my Bradvisor 4.0 program has taken over your brain and spontaneously generates fit comments even when I'm not there. lol
haha like my poor BM Perla, which did not quad, so I kept it, but I fall out. Sigh. I'm pretty sure you said something about me not looking well-supported and I ignored you!
