Bra fitting help » Lace wrinkles, too projected?

Issue resolved
Decided this bra was slightly too projected for me.
Original problem
I thought this bra fit really well at first; however, I have noticed some issues:
I don't really care for the shape it gives me. It's a bit pointy, you an particularly tell in the angled photo.
Additionally, I think I may be a bit too shallow for this bra. Perhaps that is part of the shape problem. The gore does lay on breast tissue a bit. It tacks at the bottom, but at the top on one side touches my sternum while the other lays on breast tissue. It does not hurt or bother me, though.
The lace wrinkles where the lace meets the cup, which shows under clothes. This could be because of my lack of adequate projection or because of my tall roots perhaps?
My shape characteristics that (I think) I have figured out so far:
Tall roots, wide roots, shallow, center full. My best fit thus far is a cleo maddie, but I only have it in 28DD and it is too small. I also filled out Freya Deco Plunge quite well (28DD), but the wires were awful! Too narrow.

I will be very thankful for any recommendations or information that you guys can offer!

helpfulI don't have any comments on the Marcie, but I do have a recommendation: If you liked the Deco Plunge except for the narrow wires, the Freya Deco Moulded Soft Cup Bra (4231) might be for you. Many wide-rooted people prefer this version because the Deco Plunge is known to be particularly narrow-wired in the smaller sizes. The Softcup has no wires but still does an awesome job at shaping the boobs.

IncredibleThings I've never heard any complains on that - if the cups are large enough and the band is sufficiently tight, I don't see why any tissue would want to escape. But I'd make sure you try that out before buying the bra. Bra fitting is very individual so I cannot predict how a certain shape works on you or not.
The Softcup is an awesome bra though, and definitely worth a closer look if the regular deco is too narrow.

helpfulMarcie's 'in-cup quadding' (that problem where the lace meets the more solid part of the cup) is an ongoing issue. Its why I only own 1 marcie.
The pointy shape is sometimes caused by a full-on-bottom person wearing a full-on-top bra, and I do think you are fairly FOB.
Hopefully someone can come along who is similar shaped and tell you what worked for them

That is an interesting point because I had assumed it was because I had little bottom fullness that it seemed to cut upward so sharply and that the top was more rounded. I always thought I was more even, so I will definitely have to explore that further. Thank you for your comment!

I don't think it is really a problem with fullness or lack of fullness exactly... it's more the angle and projection. You have a tall, gradual slope on the upper half of the breast whereas this bra assumes a shorter and more compact breast shape.

helpfulI had a similar lace problem on one of my bras. It wasn't wrinkly per se but it was very gappy, floppy and loose and as it turned out all I needed to do was tighten the crap out of my straps. So if you have a little bit of wiggle room play around with that and see if it works. As for the gore not tacking, maybe the cup size is too small? Have you swooped and scooped all the way in? If you quad a little and you want this bra to work, couldn't hurt trying the next size up.

Like gratiat , I found strap tightening to help, to the extent that it is still comfortable. I have tried at least 30 bras with this problem, fit on bottom and wrinkle in top. I'm fob and soft enough that stretch lace doesn't give me enough support. But the best so far has been the Andorra plunge (not the regular Andorra, same wrinkling issue). Also Chantelle c chic, if I can just get the size right.
Maddie a Freya deco also fit me, so maybe we are kinda the same shape? Freya half cups and long lines may be worth a try. Hope that helps! -
gratiat These pictures are actually with the straps tightened. I had them looser, which is why I took new pictures. The loosened strap pictures are the imgur album. Tightening got rid of my wrinkle on my smaller side, but it did not get rid of the top lace wrinkles. I did swoop and scoop, but I will definitely try again and s&s as much as possible.
The gore does tack at the bottom, it just is a little wonky on top due to my being either close set or center full. Not sure which yet..

Sc2401 I actually been on the hunt for some freya half cups I'm just slightly scared to try because the deco was just awful. I mean, teh cups were fine but the wires were so so bad. I can't wear it for longer than 10 minutes. Do you have any suggestions in particular for freya half cups? And longlines are my weakness. I have yet to own one, but I recently decided I was in love with freya daydreamer. So I am definitely on the look out for that one. Thank you for the help!

I wish I could help more. I'm new to this and so far all I know is making sure straps are tightened and everything's where it should be. It's like my equivalent of "have you tried turning it off and back on again." If you can't get rid of the wrinkles the cup shape might not work. You could try a shorter one or one not so closed off on top next.

Freya half cups that have worked for me - Patsy is the best. Rapture was an almost. Just Flew In longline, and Parade and...umm...Pansy I think? Also had cups that work for me...FOB and squishy.

helpfulThe cup is a hair too big/projected which is why you're getting the wrinkling. You could solve it with a few hand stitches -- not hard. the DD would prob be too small.
Deco wireless is a great rec. Try halfcups and in particular Parfait/Affinitas halfcups. Parfait runs tight and sister brand Affinitas is "core-sized" but runs insanely tiny in both band and cup. Charlotte might fit you great!
Don't get hung up on "I am now an E" --- you, like every woman, will wear several different sizes in different bras. 28DD, 28E, 30D and 30DD are certainly all possibilities for you depending on the brand and style.

melifish , I apologize it took so long to get back to you. Thank you for your comment! I was considering trying the 28DD, but I know the wires would be much too narrow. I have always had an issue with wires being too narrow in that size. I am hoping my main size at this point will be 28E, but I am definitely open to trying plus or minus a cup. 30 bands are okay, but because my ribcage measures ~25.5 snug, I'd much prefer to stick with 28. I will definitely be on the lookout for some halfcups and the brands you suggested. I've actually been considering the charlotte for awhile, so perhaps I will try that next. Thank you again!

bracrastination Does the soft cup hold the swoop and scoop fairly well? My boobs like to escape. Perhaps that is because I have been wearing 28DD when I am now an E. I am just worried that without wires I wouldn't stay put.
