Bra fitting help » First bra everr, not sure if it fits, possible quad boob, small tubular breast
Cleo » Marcie Balconnet Bra (6831) » 30D 30:4
Issue resolved
I'll try sizing up de cup.
Original problem
I'm new here and I don't yet have a bra that fits me properly, in fact I didn't know it even exists a size 30D!. I recently own this bra and I want you to help me to define whether it fits or not. I'm not sure but I think I getting quad boob. By the way I've recently discovered I have tubular breast so I would like to know if this bra would help me with tissue migration or if it will get it worse. Helpp!!

helpfulWelcome! To me it looks like this may not be the bra for you. The Marcie is quite projected, and to me it looks like you have, tall-rooted, shallow breasts. The reason it looks like you're getting quadboob is because this bra is made for a much shorter breast in your size. A 3-part balconette is likely not the shape for you as they are typically the most projected bras. I would recommend for you molded bras, plunge bras, and half cup bras, these styles tend to be shallower. If you like the Cleo brand aesthetic you might try the Koko or Neve. These are styles that might work better for your shape. Good luck!

I see! Fayreform, Claudette, and Parfait are brands that I've found are taller and shallower in unlined bras, at least in my size range, unfortunately i don't know if that'll hold true for yours but it at least gives you some stuff to look into. Also, bras which have only vertical seams (such as the Freya Starlet Vertical Seam bra which has a few sister cuts under the Fantasie brand) will be shallower by nature, and should be open on top enough to not cause quadding for you.

thank you!!! I do own a Parfait bra, the Casey model, in 30D. the band is ok, I think is more resistant and wide than the marcies, But since is a plunge molded bra for me the cups are too big, I don't remotely fill it...I feel kind of fake when I'm wearing it hehe also I get a lot of gapping. I'll look into your recommendation onlíne

yes, a full on bottom bra thats tall-root friendly . . . i have no idea but I think thats what you need. You will find some but marcie is for full-on-top breasts, which you dont have

Ohh I getting so much information from you guys, I appreciate it a lot. So, It seems like a bra for tall rooted, full on bottom breast would be a better choice for me, maybe trying Cleo's Lucy? But that's a 3 part balconette and I was told that maybe that's not the right model...

Cleo Lucy is different than the other 3 parts. It was the only 3 part Cleo that came remotely close to working for me. If you are doing Amazon prime or other free return situation, would recommend at least trying it. Ultimately as others have said, trial and error will be the best experience. Good luck to you!

helpfulHi!
You get quadboob from this bra (it cuts into your upper tissue leaving an odd shape) and the wires look too narrow - there is a lot of tissue left in your armpits and at the sides/back of your body.Did you scoop and swoop when putting on the bra? This technique is essential to achieve a proper fit. See here: http://brasandbodyimage.com/2012/09/05/putting-your-bra-on-properly/
Apart from that, I think the shape is about right for you.Since the 30D is too small, try a 30DD or 32D instead. You may find a 32D more comfortable since the Marcie runs particularly tight in most colors and wearing a too tight band will make the wires dig in uncomfortably and also distort the fit of the cups. It may also cause bruises and marks on your body and will make the band of the bra stretch out prematurely.
However, recent color versions of the Marcie (such as the raspberry colored one) run 1 size bigger in the band, so stick with a 30 band in this particular color.

Yes I did the scooping and swooping and that's why I think I get quadboob because the top of the cup gets tight when I stand straight and throw back my shoulders. The center gore digs in and hurts a bit leaving me red marks, but the sides of the wire don't hurt o poke, also the thing about the tissue at the armpits and back is what worries me the most, I don't want to get migrated tissue in the wrong way :O... Do you think I'm a 30DD? in general or just for the marcie? when I measure myself I got 28.5 - 29 in (band) and about 35 in (inhaling) but I can't figure it out quite right the cup size yet. The bra calculator says I am 30D.
This marcie's band is tight but it gives me a round shape at the bottom of my breast and I like that but I don't quite like the shape that it gives at the upper part (nipple area) where the fabric cuts into like you said. -
I think you're a 32D in the Marcie (30DD in the more recent colorways which run less tight - new colors of the Marcie are released every season, check the Bratabase page for further info). You will probably be around the same size range in other bras, since the Marcie runs true to size in general.
Going up a cup size will remedy the quadboob and armpit tissue, allowing your whole boob tissue to fit into the cup. And getting a wider band will help with the digging center gore.
Most bra fitting newbies are hesitant about choosing a band larger than their measurements, but believe me: The Marcie runs tight and it will be really uncomfortable to wear when it's too tight. I tried it out myself.
For reference: I'm a 27"(tight)/29"(loosely) and I wear a 32 band in the turquoise, yellow pink, purple and black Marcie, and a 30 in the raspberry.
Hope that helps.

You're such a Marcie expert!! I've been wearing this marcie for 4 days now and ...yesterday I bought a bra extender because of that band, also the gore was poking me, and the side of the wires after wearing the bra the whole day leave me red marks that lasted through the night, when I woke up next day the marks were still there. Now, all that issues still remain but at least the band doesn't feel so tight. After scooping and swoppind daily I think the upper part of the bra streched a little so the quad boob is minor almost unnoticeable
I would definitely try sizing up the cup size and you give some good marcie insight!!!!!
Now I'm also interested in the Freya Starlet Vertical Seam or the Betsey Johnson Eyelet Lace Demi I wonder how the would be in 30DD.Thank you a lot you've been such a great help :)

*blushes* well thank you :)
I have the Starlet VS bra myself and it fits way looser in the band than Marcie... think a 30 would be fine. Don't have any experience with the Eyelet Lace, but I've heard many good things about it.
Good luck with your search!

Thank you for your recommendations, But I am looking for soft bras with u/w, that's why I thought the marcie would work for me. Padded or molded bras are now out of my radar for a while because I am on my way of feeling good about myself in a unlined bra inspite of my very small breast :) So if you know of another brand or model I would appreciate it!!
