Bra fitting help » Bulging out the side
Comexim » Elena Plunge Bra (315) » 70G 32:7
Issue resolved
I will be ordering 70H in the future.
Original problem
I was so excited to get my Comexims, and as soon as I saw the package i knew there was a problem. This box couldnt be big enough to hold two bras for me! And surely enough, they don't fit.
Try #1 with Comexim was 75Gs with reduced cups and straps moved in. In these i had gaping at the top and center. This is try #2, with reduced cups and straps moved in. The side bulge is major.
What should i do? Order 70H with (extra?) reduced cups, straps moved in, and cookie pockets? Order 70G but without alterations? Give up on Comexim? please don't say it's the last one..

helpfulIt just looks like there was no need for reduced cups with this particular model. Side bulge alone doesn't necessarily indicate poor fit--some bras are just low coverage on the sides--but we can clearly see here that the cups are too skimpy for you in height and their apex also looks a bit lower than your own natural apex.
Since Comexim deals largely in foam cups you must understand that slight gaping is not abnormal especially if you're not an exact match for the shape of the cups. You mention being a bit "pointy" in your breast shape description, which often does mean that you'll have gaping near the gore in more rounded cups, especially if they are close-set.

Wendy beat me to it. I was going to say this really doesn't look, to me, like it doesn't fit. I think it fits fine, and that "side bulge" isn't really a problem... it could be your TOS, it could be just skin/fat tissue... it doesn't look too narrow unless it feels too narrow to you. I have side bulge in a couple of my cups. I don't think this looks overly short for you, but that you probably could have been fine in standard height cups, at least in Elena. You will not eliminate ALL gaping in all (or maybe even any!) molded or foam cut and sew bras.
I will point out that in pic #2 especially, the underwires look to be below your IMF. Can you pull the bra up any higher? You may also get along well with Comexim's 2 seam half cups, I'd ask for the straps moved in if I were you but leave the cup height alone. They'll have a bit more room at the wire, and slightly wider wires.

Well it sort of depends what you mean by "outer cup cuts into breast tissue"--if you mean that the wire is sitting on breast tissue then yes you unquestionably need to size up in cup volume. If you just mean that there is some side bulge, then it's more open to interpretation. The question of whether to size up or not depends on whether you think that a taller cup would contain it without the wire interfering with breast tissue.
Overall though if you feel this particular bra has a gore that is too narrow for you, I would tend to question whether this is the right design for you, especially since it's foam. If you have some empty space near the gore you're always going to feel like it lacks support a little bit IMO.

The wire does bother me a bit on the side--I feel it a lot more than I did with the 75G.
Do you think ordering 3x3 hooks might help the side bulge, since the band would be wider? -
If you can really feel the wire on the side I would take that as an indication that there is something wrong with the dimensions, either wire width or length, and would go back to another bra model or a different cup volume where the wire did not bother you.
I guess I just thought that the side bulge was an indicator of a too small or too narrow cup, since I hadn't had that problem in a bra since back when I was wearing cups that were too small. You think a 70G without reduced cups is my best bet then?
