Original problem
Why is this gore so painful? The band is a bit big, but wires are great width. Straps too wide and a bit bigg on top but I think cookies will fix that. Why can't i find a bra that fits and doesn't have a painful gore?

helpfulWell, it does look like the cups are a bit big - so there's no pressure against them to lift it slightly off, kwim?
but also some womens shapes are just not compatible with certain gore heights. It may be that a taller or shorter gore height would be less painful.
Looks like you already have a PL - with barely any gore, I assume that bra was comfier?

I completely agree with dbmamaz. I have a very sensitive sternum and I can wear halfcups only when the cups fit good or a little bit too small, otherwise the gore hurts.

helpfulSince your band rides up i would suggest going down a band size and then seeing how thr gore feels. It may be taking some weight/pressure that your band should be taking, is my guess. You can also as other users have suggested bend the gore out, it's reversible and doesn't hurt the bra, I've done it many times.
Have you ever had a bra with a narrower gore than this? Comexim's gores are narrower and i believe you can ask them to overlap the wires, this may be helpful to you. But i really believe you should try sizing down in the band first, your breasts don't look so close set as to be one of the rare people that needs overlapping wires.Updated on February 11, 2016 Flag this

helpfulTry putting a cotton pad or something under the center gore. If that helps, you can cushion it permanently by sewing a tiny pillow-sort-of-thing at the gore. Sounds strange, but it helped for me.
(I cut out a small piece of the cotton pad, a piece of soft fabric on each side, and sewed around it, then hand-sewed it to the gore).Updated on February 18, 2016 Flag this

helpfulUnderwires dig into the sternum because, once they're stretched against the body, the ends curve back towards the body. You can definitely see this in your picture #5, where the wire curves under your breast and then back towards your sternum. It's just how the casing stretches and sits on your rib cage, nearly unavoidable. A lot of people try to bend the very top center edges of the wires outwards away from the body to fix this problem.

This can't be exactly right or no one would have a comfy bra...I've had some bras that don't hurt but the rest of the cup shape isn't right....this bra is actually giving me sores.

The band being too big can contribute to the wires sort of leveraging themselves up, tilting away from your body under the boobs, with the result that they will tilt right INTO you up at the gore. Extra space in the cups can aggravate this for the reasons dbmamaz stated. I would try with the cookies and if the gore is still uncomfortable, either alter the bra to a shorter band length or get rid of it.

helpfulI´ve had bras that fit perfectly but had painful gores and bending wire ends has helped me a lot. (I´ve also had bras that don´t fit perfectly and have painful gores...) I think the most painful ever were CK Tease me and Cleo Marcie. Tease me I don´t own any more, but Marcie is good now, after bending.
So, if you think the bra fits otherwise I´d suggest bending wires. If there are other significant fit issues, then the pain might not be due to inward curving wires.

Yes, much comfier in the gore, but too small in the cups and would not stay in my imf. The cups of this are just a tad too big, I wonder if I went down a size if it would help with the gore.
