Bra fitting help » Super wide cups, gore dig in, It gaps and folds...confused
Freya » Patsy Padded Half Cup Bra (1223) » 28DD 28:5
Issue resolved
It doesnt work for me. Wires Too wide for My narrow roots
Original problem
I'm a conical-tubular veryy shallow, wide, tall rooted 30D (shape definition in progress).
Reading that this bra had a streachy band I decided to get this size.
Wires are very wide for me and the cup folds By the sides where there isnt too much tissue, the marks are 1inch bigger than the ones of my 30D marcie.
The band Is a bit tight and I hope it will streach as reviewed and finally gore digs in and It hurts

helpfulUnderwires digging into sternum is a common problem for people who have lower bodyfat. I myself have had tons of issues with it in the past. I feel that the best course of action for this problem is to wear plunge bras whenever possible. It is possible that your roots are not as broad as you think they are. It is possible that your roots are just medium breadth or narrow.
I find that the Freya Patsy Padded Half Cup is best for people who have broad and short roots, that is to say, their roots look like horizontal ovals. If your roots look more like vertical ovals, maybe try the Freya Deco Plunge in 28DD and 28D (just in case cause it is known to run half a cup volume large).

I think you are possibly wide-set, but not wide . ..meaning your breasts are somewhat far apart from each other, but they are more sticking-out rather than spread-out-along-your-body. I also think you are full-on-bottom, so you need bras that have less space on the top.
But not everyone agrees that 'tissue migration' results from a proper-fitting bra, and even for those who do experience this, its more for women whose breasts have been pushed out under their underarms from too-wide and too-flat bras, which does not seem to be your problem.
You should look for bras that fit you now, not that you think will change your shape. Plunge does not mean padded.

pequi , to help myself understand my root shape, I finally used an eyeliner to trace around them, which offered a good deal of insight to their shape. I'm trying to remember exactly how I did it. I think that the advice I got was to gently support them with my hands, like a well fitting bra might and then press slightly to the right, marking in the crease between breast tissue and chest wall, and then the left...and outlining the bottom and the top while bent over at a 90 degree angle or so.

helpfulConical or tubular would be narrow shapes, and judging by the width of this bra not working for you i would agree your root may be narrower than you think it is. I thought i had a wide root for the longest time but I'm actually conical and narrow too. I suggest trying a bra with narrower wires and seeing how it works.
If the band feels tight and the gore is digging, it could be because of the tight band. A 30 may be more comfortable for you, as a person without any room to squish on their ribcage, a band of your exact measurement may feel too tight. You may want to try 30s and see if they ride up. But you can always solve the gore problem by bending the gore outward, or choosing bras with lower or narrower gores.

helpfulUgh. I just got a Freya halfcup (longline) in the mail and I find its wires to be SUPER stabby even though the band is way too loose on me. The wires of that bra are really thick and not at all flexible, is it the same with this one? It's probable that the bra would still hurt you even after a bit of breaking in.
I find the Freya Jolie Plunge Balcony (4101) is pretty comfortable, although the side coverage is minimal. Also the Freya Starlet Vertical Seam Bra (1061) (be careful because there is also a plunge version that is not cut the same) was comfortable on me as well. Maybe those would be worth a try.

helpfulThis is the first time I'm chiming in on a fit request, so take that into consideration.
To me, it looks like the cup is pretty large on you. A breast perimeter measurement could be helpful in this area.
I'm finding it a bit more difficult to judge the width because of where the Bratabase watermark falls, but with all the wrinkling, I would definitely think that trying a cup size down could help.
As far as the stabby wires, I can only agree that maybe a plunge would work better because they of course come up significantly lower on the sternum. I've heard of other people bending the wires away from their body, but I have no personal experience with this particular problem so I'm just parroting what I've heard from others.

helpfulI agree with others that your breast root is probably narrow and not wide. Cleo Marcie in 30D is a very narrow and projected, if you had wide roots it would have been sitting on your breasts and extremely uncomfortable, and you would have a bunch of extra fabric if you were shallow. This bra is much wider than Cleo Marcie, but I think you got an odd apple since this bra is usually narrow for your size. In my opinion the band is a bit too tight for you, so you may want to get an extender, but really I'd just return this bra if you can. I think it's lacking fullness at the bottom, which means the cups are being pulled away from your body. For the wires digging into your sternum, you'll want to use pliers to bend the tips away from it, as there's not much else to do with this specific bra.
If you liked Cleo Marcie in 30D, I think your best course of action would be going for Panache Jasmine Balconnet Bra (6951) , Panache Envy Balconnet Bra (7285) , Panache Floris Balconnet Bra (7311), Panache Olivia Balconnet Bra (7751) , or thereabouts.

I was checking me out and after googling some images of broad roots I guess thats not me. In either way I find kind of dificult to figure out my shape because by themselves (without a bra) I dont get to see an oval. My chest is something like the first row in this image:
https://www.google.com.pe/search?q=breast+with+broad+roots&client=ms-android-samsung&prmd=ivn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjV35_z3NXKAhVG6x4KHV3CC68Q_AUIBygB#tbm=isch&q=breast+with+narrow+roots+splayed&imgrc=qUhXqoXs3TWnOM%3A
Mm splayed tissue, wide set, tall roots, shallow are some key words that i have come across when I wanted to find a well fitting bra and the search Still continues.
About plunge bras, Im not sure about them for now...just because I want a bra with the minimum amount of padding (or without it) and they are molded also I have the idea that I Wont get tissue migration wearing a plunge bra, Am I wrong? ?
