Bra fitting help » Need a larger cup size in similar bra
Sculptresse » Pure Moulded T-shirt Bra (6291) » 40GG 40:10
Issue resolved
Sticking with Sculptresse as they are fairly narrow.
Original problem
My weight has fluctuated a lot in the last four years and currently this is the only bra I own that remotely fits. This bra feels really good to wear. Over the day my top bra tissue rises out of the cup and gives me quadboob. However the gore tacks (gores never tack on me) and the wires don't hit my armpit. The back band also doesn't rise up. It's the largest cup size in this model but it makes my boobs look so smooth and round. Recommendations for bras like this in a cup size larger?

helpfulI'm not sure if you're willing to go Polish, but Ewa Michalak bras in a chp cut are usually pretty smooth under clothes and are SUPER round. The only thing is is the wires are about a half inch narrower than this one, but if that's not a problem I'd recommend starting with a 90G or 90GG.

I had no idea that the CHP was not an appropriate style for larger cups, thank you for correcting me.

I have been eyeing Kris Line on ebay and Comexim for Wellfitting. Any sizing suggestions there? I can't figure out the charts. My breasts are quite soft and bounce around a bunch. My band size is likely to go down in the next couple months (thanks to finally receiving medical attention to a chronic condition) but I've never lost cup size. I would rather not spend a heap of money but if I could have at least two bras that fit well for a while it would be worth it. I could take the band in later if I had to.

I've heard favorable things occasionally about Kris Line in your size range. I seem to recall xelestial had reviewed some, not exact same size of course but definitely in a range where serious support is needed. Figuring out the size in KL is the tricky part.

I would not recommend Comexim/Wellfitting for you. They don't grade specially for large cups/larger band and it shows -- they rarely fit because they don't provide enough coverage and the wires are too soft and narrow. I base this on experience fitting this brand professionally in addition to my experience wearing them. Every brand has a "best" size range and for Comexim it's small band/large cup, unfortunately for you and me.
KL I know nothing about except as already noted that their sizing is difficult to crack. I do believe Ewa Michalak offers a similar fit (she used to design for KL) and her sizing is a bit more transparent.

Thanks so much melifish. I'm going to settle for sculptresse and wide old elomi for now since my weight is fluctuating. When I stop losing and also when I get a real job (student right now) I'll invest in some EM.

helpfulElomi bijou is a pretty similar molded cup; i'd try 40H in it. The wires are softer so may not tack but are also low (so it won't matter as much), like this one. It's kind of shallow, so no promises, but is really popular and comfy.
TBH I think the reason you're spilling over the course of the day is not lack of cup depth (this looks spot-on size wise) but that the gore is just on the low side for you. A seamless bra in your size is a tall order and is going to involve some compromises, and if you go up in the cup you risk losing support and getting armpit wire. Since Sculptresse is working for you, I'd try other models from them in 40GG and maybe 40H, and if the seams bother you, well, try rocking it or wear an undershirt. Aside from the seams, they will also be round.

oh you know what try panache sport! Beautiful, lifted, smooth cup, really comfy, nothing in your armpit. Runs big in cup and small in band, you could try 40G and 40GG, might be a little tight but it stops at a 40 band unfortunately.

I have an Elomi Bijou in 40H which fits in the band but is too small in the cup. The wires and strap placement is too wide and the edges of the cup dig into my armpits causing chafing I have an Elomi Amelia in 40H which also fits in the band and is close in the cup. Gore doesn't tack and I get slight quadboob. The sides of the cup and straps are better but the wires are too long and rub against my arms and dig into my ribs, and I feel like my breasts are in my armpits. My Elomi Etta 40H is tight in the band and slightly too small in the cup but has a narrower wire which is more comfy but I hate the profile (super pointy and wide, very visible horizontal line under my clothes). Do all Sculptresse styles have similar narrow wires? Is there a style you could recommend? I'm pretty much off Elomi because of the cup width. I didn't like the Panache sports bra but maybe in a different size it would be ok. I like to wear wide and low and plunging necklines, is there any hope for me?

Yes, all Sculptresse/Panache is going to be narrower in the wire than elomi/goddess. Elomi is designed with those really wide wires on purpose because for some people they are more comfortable that way. if that doesn't work for you, then just steer away from the brand because they are all the same. not shocked that bijou didn't work, but again it's maybe the only other molded cup in your size range.
unfortunately, it's just a trade off between a higher gore so the bra might show more but you get better support/don't quad. I have soft tissue so I am the same way -- if I want to wear a plunge I won't get a ton of support/lift and I might bubble out in the middle. It's just physics, if there is less wire there is less support for the bra. You could try a perfect cami, it is like a fake camisole that goes over your bra so that you can wear a lower neckline. i'm sure there are other products that are similar.
the sculptresse chi chi is a very successful style (based on panache jasmine) and lots of other sculptresse models (maybe all in your size) have its construction. you can grab them on ebay pretty cheaply.
the only other thing I can think of if you want to try a different molded plunge is to get one from lane Bryant in like 42H or 44H, then alter the band/get it altered if necessary. (this is a super easy alteration if you sew at all, and if not is cheap to have done.) Even though if you do the 'cup size math' between UK and US it seems like it shouldn't work, in practice US cups are bigger than UK and have bigger jumps between them, so a US H cup is often pretty substantial. That way you would have a bra specifically for your lower necklines. The UK/euro full-bust companies won't make very large cups with low gores, because of the low support, but lane Bryant definitely will.

I really really appreciate the help! I don't mind bubbling in the center, just the top. Maybe I'll get a cheap Lane Bryant bra on ebay and experiment. Also it seems like Curvy Kate Temptress has very similar measurements to my Pure bra except maybe a bit deeper so I might try that in a 40H and see how that works.

CHP (half cup) requires pretty firm tissue to work well, especially in larger sizes, because you tend to spill out due to the low coverage. Yeah, it's round, but it's not really a good supportive option for large sizes. OP has an omega shape and I don't see it working out well for her. Plus, these wires look pretty good and I don't think she could go narrower at all.
Ewa Michalak FB (or maybe even S), however, could be a great option. They are just expensive and hard to get, not to mention the headache of figuring out your size in them, esp for someone whose weight fluctuates. Probably better to stick with brands that are easier to come by such as Sculptresse or Elomi.
