Bra fitting help » 36F Fantasie Alex Side Support - Wide wires/cups - any other issues?

Issue resolved
Wires are too wide, not enough immediate projection, and too much cup volume. Searching for wires under 6" and cup volume closer to 9"-9.5".
Original problem
The gore tacks perfectly and I fill the cups but the sides are a problem... I think the wires are too wide for me. The band fits perfectly. Should I just try narrower wires? This is the first bra in my new size that actually fit mostly well. Any suggestions on what to try next are appreciated as well.

helpfulThis fits oddly because it's technically way more cup volume than you need (unless your measurements are out of date--but if they're current, you don't need 11.5" of cup to accommodate 9" of lying down perimeter!) However, the wide and shallow shape means your breasts are only using the part of the cups that is in front of the body--the rest of the cup is pulled flat along the side of your body.
I would suggest you do a search by measurements on this site to find bras that have a depth closer to your lying perimeter (so 9, maybe 9.5") and a width under 6".Updated on April 21, 2016 Flag this

I appreciate the help! I just measured the bra this morning and uploaded the measurements for it, but I think I'm at least pretty close on the cup measurements. I do think you're right - they're way too big. I'm off to do a search for bras that haver measurements that show they may fit better.

Good luck!

helpfulYes, I think that you would do well to get a bra with narrower wires. The other thing I noticed is a bit of wrinkling at the bottom parts of the cups. This means either that there is not enough overall projection in the cups for you or that there is not enough immediate projection in the cups for you.
Maybe try the Cleo Lucy in 36F? Cup width is 5.9" which is narrower than your current bra. It should have more immediate projection for you. It's also really great for people with far apart spaced breasts.

Great - thanks! I'll see if I can find a Lucy online. I do have an EW Ch Onyx on its way, but it will be a while before it arrives and I can try it. In the meantime, I'll also check out the measurements for bras here to see what I can find that's narrower.

This was exactly what I was going to say, plus saying I think a balconet would be a perfect shape for you.
