Natori » Hidden Glamour Full Fit Contour Bra (736044) » 36DDD 36:6
Issue resolved
Look for bras that accommodate center projection such as Fantasie Rebecca. Also look for seamed bras with less prominent seams to wear under tees.
Original problem
I think the cups are too small and this bra would not be flattering to me even in the right size. My breasts are kind of soft and splayed a bit. I have a lot of side boob and the wires of this don't stay firmly against my sides so the tissue escapes from the cups with wear. Not much uplift either and it flattens me in front. Can you recommend a t shirt bra that will put my girls front and center? Also, do you know of any place in the US where I could donate this bra?
Just as a contrast, picture 11 is me wearing my new Panache Idina under the same shirt.

helpfulElomi Amelia Spacer Moulded Bra (8740) but the gore will probably be too wide for you so you will have to take the gore in. Elomi Bijou Banded Moulded Bra (8720) might be a really great option a size up from this Natori. Don't be fooled by the narrow wires- they are soft so they will stretch back to encapsulate the sides of your breast. Sculptresse Pure Moulded T-shirt Bra (6291) starts at a size larger (36E) but maybe you would need that. It's also a little narrower in the cup so you will be brought to the front. Curvy Kate Daily Dream Balcony Bra (CK4501) I found to be very wide but it also has seams so probably not for you. Have you tried any Cleo seamless bras? They aren't in my size so I can't recommend one for you though.

helpfulHonestly "splayed" means nothing for most breasts over 7" in perimeter, because if your boobs are more than a certain size and weight they will naturally splay when unsupported but this has nothing to do with how they behave when in a bra. It looks like you're actually fairly close-set. I don't know why bra retailers are trying to make "splayedness" a thing!
Have you tried the Fantasie Rebecca?

Thanks for the suggestion. I have not tried the Rebecca because from the pictures I've seen here it doesn't push things forward too much. Do you find that it does?
My breasts are close-set at the top but at the lower fronts the wires on most bras are outside of my imf even when the meet it at the bottom. That's what I was basing my assessment of "splayed" on.

Most people are comparatively much closer-set at the top of their cleavage, it looks like you are particularly close-set up there--which may create the illusion of the breast base being more separated-- but this doesn't mean that your boobs are actually splaying side to side any more than average. Does that make any sense? Breast roots aren't usually perfectly circular and this, in addition to outward projection, is usually what makes it hard for the wire to sit right in the IMF.
I am not sure what you mean by "pushing things forward" but I find the Rebecca allows projected breasts a nice amount of room to sit right in front of the body. Is that what you're asking?

Thanks wendybien I realize it's important to have room at the front of a bra which this Natori decidedly does not have. I was thinking of something that also has side support that would also push my breasts forward.

Honestly your boobs don't look like they need any pushing ;-) Only room to go where they need to go, which is out and forwards! If you select bras that have plenty of nice volume near the gore, like your Idina, instead of being super shallow and flat near the gore like this Natori I think you'll see they center themselves just fine. When you lift them straight up in a "hand bra" my guess is that they tend to become more centered and move toward the midline of your torso, instead of wanting to fall outwards in an east-west lateral movement.
Also for donations I highly recommend that you contact Erica of Sophisticated Pair. She contributes to a women's charity where they always are in need of bras, as far as I know.

wendybien thanks for the tip about donations! It's funny, I just received an order from Erica and I have to return/exchange some things, so I can ask her about sending the Natori bras with my return (yes, I bought 2 of them) 8-( . Yay!
It's true, the girls do go to the front when lifted, for the most part. Thanks for having the conversation with me. It's really helped me understand what to look for in bras.

Oh, you're welcome! My major bra obsession dovetails nicely on this site with my compulsive advice-giving, so it's win/win ;-)

helpfulI know you're looking for a t-shirt bra but most are moulded cups, which just don't hold up breasts like ours very well.
From looking at the picture, it seems that your wires aren't sitting in the IMF, but way below it. You mentioned that the Maddie gapped at the top. Is the gore also tilting away from you if you scoop, swoop, and get all the tissue into the cup? I have a feeling that the bras you're trying aren't nearly projected enough.
I'd say give a @Curvy Kate Bardot a shot in a @34G or @34GG.

Right on both counts! Yes, the wires on the Natori bra sit below my imf until a point just outside of the center. I thought it was because the wires are shaped differently than my breasts.
And yes, the Maddie behaves exactly as you described.
Is Bardot discontinued? That bra is actually one of my recommended ones, in the size you suggested. It's not available from Amazon in that size, but they do have a 36FF. I was wondering if I should size up in the band because I did try a Florence in 34FF. The band felt fine but it seemed that the cups were pulling a bit wide. They didn't do that when I tried it with an extender. Since I also have the narrow shoulder problem wearing extenders can sometimes make the straps sit a bit too wide, so unless the band is very stretchy I think I'm better off in a 36.

helpfulFirst thought was Curvy Kate's daily whatever-they-have-now. In a 34 something. E? But idk, that was just my first thought. There are no t-shirt bras in my size. I let my seams be visible

Thanks for your suggestions! I did try a Cleo Maddie in size 34G. The band was tight so I used an extender. The cups might have been a little large, I had some gapping at the top near the straps. The straps sat really wide on me. I loved the shape of it under clothes! I may post pictures and ask for fit help on that one to see if it would be worthwhile ordering it in 36F.
I'll check out the other bras. Thanks again!
