Bra fitting help » Deco showing under shirt: fit problem or design problem?
Freya » Deco Moulded Plunge Bra (4234) » 28E 28:6
Issue resolved
It is a design problem.
Original problem
I love this bra but the cups are just so thick and moulded that the top of the cup shows under all my shirts I know this happens in ill fitting bras when there is too much gaping or quad going on, but is it wrong of me to think that the bra design of such thick cup tops makes this almost unavoidable? Does anyone else have this problem with their Deco? I'd say that I have minimal gaping - maybe slight quad at times in this bra.
Regarding fit, I know it's not perfect cup depth wise, but I think it's the best I can do with Deco - the band is tight, the cups aren't too tall (so I can fill out the tops and not have gaping constantly)
Are some Decos worse with this than others? It did happen with my 30E Deco Honey, but not quite as badly. However, I had worse gapping with that bra and the band was very loose.

helpfulThese edged Decos tend to do that. The Honey and original Deco didn't have that thick edging, but they also had taller cups that gapped more on most people, because most people don't have tall enough boobs to fill them all the way out.
Deco is a hard, if not really bad, fit on almost everyone who tries it. It's impossibly shallow and stiff, and I can't think of anyone who has that exact shape. So there's going to be gapping or quadding or something going on at any given time because the cup just refuses to mold to your own shape. I also think you're more projected than this bra allows for, which could be causing your breasts to "push away" the top edges of the cup. It's not a terrible fit, but I think it showing through your thin shirts is unavoidable.

helpfulYeah, it's the design, not the fit. But fitwise, unless these numbers are off, i can't imagine a universe in which a bra this tight would be comfortable on you! that's sort of a side note.

Oh I'm for sure using a band extender trying it on. Would wear one for awhile if I was keeping it. I just had a 30E Deco Honey before and the band was much too large, as they tend to run.

helpfulI believe it is a design flaw. That being said, some versions of the Deco are better than others. Also, if you truly want a seamless bra, the Deco may be the only one that works. At least that is the case with me. As a size 30GG, who is now a 28GG due to weight loss, finding a seamless t-shirt bra has been difficult. I have tried all of the seamless offerings from Panache, Cleo and Curvy Kate. All have been too wide and shallow or a shape mismatch. Ewa Michalak and Comexim do not make seamless bras. Their padded bras have seams. I love wearing solid color t-shirts all year round, so a seamless, padded bra is important to me. I have about 15 Decos and almost every version. I wear them about twice a week (I mix in my Comexims, Ewa Michalaks and balconnets from Panache and Cleo for variety).
In terms of not being able to see the top of the cups through t-shirts, this has been my experience from best to worst:
Spotlight - all colors. This version seems to be more narrow and closed on top than the others, so for me, it hugs my breast better causing the top seam not to show as much;
Rebel (the beige animal print);
Lagoon (the one you are wearing);
Hattie - this is discontinued, I have been looking but can't find any more;
Delight - I have bot the gray and the beige colorways, I have the beige in both the 30GG and 28GG size and wear it when I want to wear light colored t-shirts;
Charm (the ballet pink and the new fuschia colorways)- the band on this one runs tight, so I wear a 30G (versus a 28GG in the others). I find that I tend to fall into the center toward the gore with this one, though;
Vibe - the band runs tight and the cups run smaller, but not a full size smaller--good if you are in between sizes;
Honey- I can't wear my 30GGs anymore and can't find 28GGs in this, not sure I would reorder anyway;
Original beige and black. I personally find these to be the worst in terms of showing the top of the cup.This has been my personal experience over the last 4 years as I have been trying to pinpoint my size and shape. I love the shape that the Decos give me under form-fitting t-shirts.

This is helpful - thanks! I have the Deco Softcup which works well as a t-shirt bra. It's not a perfect fit - a bit shallow and wider, but I love it. Have your tried it? Looks like the cups stop at G unfortunately.

If I wanted to try out an original Deco or Honey, what should I look for? Any certain seasons or colors? I'll look into that. I know this colorway is newer. Not gonna seek one out anymore, but if a listing pops up of an old one I might be tempted.
Thanks for the answer, just wanted to double check. I can't really live with the cups showing through - I'd much rather stick with my other thinner moulded bras.
