Issue resolved
Defective cup and bad shape for me.
Original problem
One cup is perfect when sitting up straight and the top gaps when slouching. The right cup's top lace is flared out and nowhere near fitting. Perfect cup width, wires don't hurt my sides, filling cups okay after scoop and swooping, gore feels pokey (more like the wire is too stiff for my boney body), and straps dig into my underarms. I'm (I think) a 28E, even fullness, wide-set, wide and tall roots, and fairly shallow. This is my first attempt into leaving the bra matrix. Until now, I have been wearing a 32C Body by Victoria. Is there a better cut for me or should I just reorder as a 28DD and hope it isn't warped?

helpfulHave you measured both breasts? It's hard to tell, but looking at the front view photo your right breast looks like it might be smaller. If that's the case you would fit the left breast and add cookies in the right side cup. If your breasts are the same size or nearly so, then I would return that bra.
Does the left side fit well and feel supportive? In photos 1 and 3 it looks like there's a little wrinkling in the top of the left cup, but in photo 4 it looks like you couldn't go down any more. It's possible that this one doesn't match your shape as well as it might. I wish I had suggestions for you but others might know better than I.
ETA: OK, I do have one suggestion. If your laying bp is accurate (it's a big difference between that and your horizontal bp), try Cleo Marcie in 28DD. It's less likely to cut into the tops of your breasts.

I may have an answer for you about why the right cup fits so differently. annabellynn 's comment reminded me that my right shoulder is substantially lower than my left and this causes some minor fit issues. I never even realized it until I started taking pictures for this site! Even though my right breast is a teeny bit larger than my left, if gapping at the top happens it's more noticeable on the right side. The lower position of my right shoulder has an effect on the fit of the cup similar to slouching. I agree with annabellynn that you should measure both cups of the bra to make sure it's not defective, but also check your shoulder position. With everything you've said I think you may want to size down and possibly try a different style, but also try shortening the strap on the right side. That's what I do to offset my lower shoulder.
-
So, I can go measure the cup, but I just tried tightening the strap and no amount of tightness could change it. It's almost like the lace is flaring out from the cup instead of following the curve of the cup. I'm going to go with defective because I've never once had issues with uneven cup filling in the past.
I agree, I think I'll size down, but I'll try another style. The width of the cups on this was perfect for me. It hit me right at the curve of my breast tissue under my arms. Is this a wide cupped bra or normal?

helpfulIt's a bit hard to determine your breast shape so if you like this bra, definitely size down and see how it looks. There are many different shape options in Cleo, so even if this turns out not to be a great match for your boob shape there will certainly be other choices to try after

Is there some more helpful info I can provide other than what I did to help you guys understand my boob shape? I'm new to this, so Even Fullness, Wide-set, Tall and Wide Root, and Slightly Projected is all I know aside from my 27" snug ribcage.
-
Well, if you look at your boobs from the side when they are supported and slightly compressed (by a bra or just holding them) what does the line from the apex of the boob to your collarbone look like? Is it a projected "boob bump" that comes back sharply towards your ribcage like a letter b? Or is it nice gentle gradual slope, almost a straight line from nipple to collarbone?
-
It's not abrupt like a b, but it's definitely not a straight line. It's got a definite curve and rounded top when cupped.
-
OK so if you observe from the side does it look like the curve above the apex is roughly the same shape and height as the curve below?
-
Definitely not. It's a very slight slope from the top of my breast tissue, hit a bend, then the rest of my breast goes into the b shape. It's like a b, except with a curve between the top of the stem and the top of the rounded part of the b. So yes, it gets rounded above the nipple and on the top part of my breast, but since my roots are tall, there isn't an abrupt change from my chest wall to my breast. I have a very long torso and my breasts seem to be situated lower than anything in my size in the example photos on this site. When not cupped, the side profile of http://bra.pe/H8/ but a little lower on my rib cage is a good example of shape. So when it gets supported, the top of my breasts rounds up instead of being straight from my collarbone.
-
OK, so it seems like your upper boob shape might be a LITTLE taller than what would fit the Lily but it's still worth a shot. I'd try and see.

helpfulAre the straps adjusted the same? Double check that. I would say measure each cup and look for differences. cup width, height, depth might be helpful.
It looks like you're new around here, have you experienced anything similar in other bras? So to add to what others are saying, even if your breasts seem to look the same size, I find that mine seem to be a bit different shapes when they're supported. One has more top fullness, even though they measure and look about the same braless.

Lucy is quite a nice bra but it seems to me it's not that first choice to make the best of your shapes appearance.Updated on August 7, 2016 Flag this

Hey, thanks for the response! From all the measuring I've done, they do appear to be the same size, though they are incredibly malleable, which makes it very hard to measure them without squishing them down, so the measurements might be slightly off because it didn't give much direction on how tight to measure. I assumed without squishing the breast tissue at all. I should also mention that I've never had issues with unevenness in past bras, but this is my first time in something other than a 32B, so maybe that was masking it. It seems unlikely, though, because the difference was so drastic.
The differences between the photos is likely from my shoulder position. When standing up straight, it slightly cuts it, but when I slouch, it definitely gaps. I'm new to this, so I'm thinking the cut might just be bad for me.
The gore also looks malformed, and with my wide-set breasts, it's hard to imagine it being from them being pushed. The left wire lays flat and the right gore wire hovers roughly 1cm off my breastbone and that is the side with the odd cup. Also, the straps are the same length.
I'm in Alaska, so the only place that carries close to my size only had sister sizes and only 2 at that. So ordering happens online. I also have a Freya Deco Soft Cup in 28E that came in the same order and I think I'll be reordering it as a 28DD. The big issue on that one (aside from gapping when I slouch) was it digging into my ToS. Also, I've got a really small amount of body fat on my rib cage, so the wires felt very stiff and uncomfortable. Would you still recommend that bra?
