Issue resolved
Get a bigger size
Original problem
On my larger breast I get in cup quadding. I assume part of the issue is that the cup is too narrow (4.5" width, normally I like 5")
What is the cause of the in cup quadding? Is it that the seam is too tight or that I just need a bigger cup?
The only alteration is the gore has been reduced.

helpfulin-cup quadding is a funny thing. In this case I don't think it is caused by excessive tension on that seam, I think it is caused by lack of tension in the upper cup. Between the narrowed gore, the fact that the cup is a hair narrower than you would want and the way the straps have to be angled in to stay on your shoulders, I think that probably explains why the upper cup is sitting weirdly and is too slack. Is it visible through clothes?

oh sorry I thought you meant the gore was altered by you, aftermarket so to speak. I see what you mean.
Yeah in that case I got nothin. Maybe a manufacturing defect? If you got it direct from them you could ask. -
wendybien dp you think my issues would be fixed if u went up a size? I chose this size because the 70F Donna bra was too big in the cups. My normal Comexim size is 65G

This issue might be solved, yes, because a classic contributing factor to in-cup quadboob is simply that the seam is going across the areola. Yes there are other factors making the quadding possible but that is a particularly soft part of the boob so if there's any unevenness in the tension it is apt to happen. Sizing up would put the seam higher.

wendybien I emails Comexim & Joanna said that it looks bad and told me to try to stretch the seam. 😧

huh. Well I guess you could try... if they acknowledge the seam is too tight though maybe that means they'll take it back if it can't be fixed?

helpfulI have those problems too with a Freya Ellie bra. The cups seem to be cut in a similar shape like yours.
But I have separate boobs FoT. Somewhen its not necessary why some bra does not work. Just sending it back is easier ...Updated on September 15, 2016 Flag this

I got this from Comexim, and since the gore is reduced they won't take it back.

if it is actually defective they ought to fix, replace or refund. I would ask, it doesn't hurt. They are usually pretty nice, right?
-
I don't think it's defective though, this is just kind of how their unlined bras are cut. Unlined bras with center seams are in general just not usually going to work for people who are FOT (unless they're in a fabric with some give)
-
kermitdafrog21 I don't have this issue with the Comexim Donna. I actually don't have this issue with any other unlined bra (except possibly Claudette Dessous- but I've figured out with the newer dessous its the way they have the 2 bottom fabric pieces that prevent them from stretching as much as they should- so they end up being/feeling shallow).

wendybien I added 2 pics with the straps sitting normally (I don't know why I angle the straps when I put on a bra). But the bra still sits/looks the same. It is somewhat visible when worn with a top.
Where the seams meet (on my bigger breast) there is an indentation, I tried to show this in picture 7.
I didn't request that gore be narrower, I asked for it to be reduced, however the top of the wire channels are overlapped (but not the actual wires)
