Bra fitting help » Straps adjusted, still feel digging in
Comexim » Summer Time Plunge Bra (265) » 60H 28:8
Issue resolved
Will try Ewa next time or size 60HH.
Original problem
I think this bra is a pretty good fit. I had the straps moved in, but I still find the strap bothersome on my right side, my smaller breast. Getting frustrated. Wondering if it's time to try Anna Pardal for Comexim. I hear you can return for adjustments as much as needed? I won't be able to return this to Comexim due to the strap adjustment and it being size 60. Not sure if I should just suck it up or list it because of the strap issue.

helpfulSo are the bra's measurements and you own measurements accurate? Standard cup depth for a Comexim plunge in this size would be at least 8 inches, so if yours is this small you should immediately contact Comexim because it's mislabeled. Also, would you remeasure the cup separation according to the directions? I'm certain it's not over an inch, and likely is only .5 or so. Also, if your breast perimeter is still 11.5 inches that suggests the need for a much larger cup size. That would suggest that you need around a 60K or L. This one definitely doesn't look multiple cup sizes too small, but have you tried a 60HH? The issues you describe in the fit section suggest that the bra is too shallow for you at the wire. For me, Anna Pardal is slightly better in this regard.

Ok, sorry I am confused - is the cup width measured over the bra, on the front? Or measuring from wire to wire on the back? I will re-check the cup separation.
-
It's measured on the inside. There are instructions that should come up when you go to measure the bra. To make it easier to measure, you can put the bra over you knee (with the outer fabric facing down) and measure over that. Cup separation should be at the top of the gore. How far apart the cups are from eachother. I know it can be a little confusing at first!

I hope I corrected it. I am just in tears over this whole process. I know it takes time to get used to bratabase and measuring, I'm just frustrated. Thanks for trying to help me out!!

You'll get it!!

Okay that looks a lot more normal now! :) I know there is a learning curve for all of this, but I promise it pays off once you get there. Have you tried a cup size up from this? Have you tried anything from EM? Do you have soft tissue? What is the typical size of bras that fit you?
-
The 8.2 looks much better. Your perimeter is likely not 11.9 inches though. That one was tough for me. I just leaned over 90 degrees and measured from my outside root down around my nipple and up to my sternum. I'm guessing yours is more around 9-9.5 or so.

I haven't tried a size up yet. I am hesitant to order more from Comexim because I can't return size 60, and it is just such a pain to order, try, and re-sell. I was accidentally sent a 65H Comexim, here is a link to a fit check with other Comexims: https://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/comments/3qvc46/fit_check_comexim_ingrid_vivien_60h_free_time_65h/
I haven't tried anything from EM. I am intimidated by the site. I have no idea with CH or whatever the letters are. No clue if I have soft tissue, not even sure how to check. I don't think I have a bra that really fits yet, if this one doesn't found. I am wearing, like 30Ds right now because the straps don't dig, but they really need to be retired. I just e-mailed Anna Pardal in hopes to get suggestions. I know I've had a long day, but I am just in tears over all this! I thought I was getting somewhere but I feel like I am back to square one! I've been posting to reddit for over a year, and am somewhat new to bratabase so this is opening a new world for me.

So, I saw your post on ABTF, and I'm going to agree with lcl0706 that it's unlikely that your horizontal perimeter is 11.9 with an bust measurement of 34 inches. I do think it's worth trying a size up in Comexim and possibly looking at their halfcup options if you're worried about cups being too tall. Ewa Michalak's CHP cut is always my biggest recommendation to very projected women in this size range. For you, I'd take a 65F/60FF/55G
The 65H does look like a better fit overall, but I think your shape is more suited to Ewa Michalak than Comexim. Soft tissue if frequently described as being like "cake batter" and flows to take the shape of what its in. You can have this to varying degrees. Firm tissue on the other hand pushed against bras and resists being reshaped.
-
Hi lcl0706 what perimeter should I remeasure?
-
Hi! Your horizontal one :) 11.9 is a big number for someone your size. For reference, I wear a 60HH in Comexim plunges and my perimeter is 10". Just lean over and do your best to guesstimate where your breast root ends on your side. There's instructions in the "measuring yourself" page.
-
Ok, I re-did it and got 10".
PetiteCollegiate Can I return a EM if it doesn't fit? I am doubting it. I will look to see if there are any listed here. Is it worth trying Anna Pardal do you think? It does sound like I have soft tissue. Thanks for taking the time to explain all this. -
You can return an Ewa Michalak if you order a 65 band or in any size if you order from a US retailer (Bra obsessed or Zathiya). But they tend to sell very quickly especially in your size range. I think the CHP shape will be better suited to you, but AP may work as well. I wear both. Being very close set, you'll want to ask Anna Pardal for overlapping wires in the gore. This is standard for Ewa Michalak. Her cups are more immediately projected and center projected, but the straps are quite wideset. You're definitely going to want to go up a size from what you've been wearing. So I'd say ideally 60FF/55G for EM and 28G for Anna Pardal.
-
Thanks very much PetiteCollegiate . I am not seeing my size on those retailers, so I may have to just order directly from Ewa and hope it fits. I will try a 60FF? Any particular CHP you'd recommend?
-
And if it doesn't fit, they send to tell quickly, do you think?
-
It depends on personal preferences. Some (Onyx, klaudyna) are slightly more closed on top. I'd go with whatever one you like the look of most! You can also wait until she releases a new one because there will be a discount then. I believe you have 14 days after you recieve it to post it back. But you have to order in band size 65 for it to be returnable unfortunately.
-
Just so you know, Ewa just released new styles on discount for the next 2 days. Also, this is the first CH in literally forever, so you may want to snatch it up!
-
PetiteCollegiate Thanks! Is it under 'Outlet' on the site? Or where am I looking? Do I want CH or CHP? Sorry for the overload of questions!
Do you think I should just order a 65F, see how it fits, and maybe return it if it doesn't work and maybe reorder something in a different size? And should I bother with Anna Pardal at the same time? Because I know it will take months for both. -
It's right on the main page where it says "30 zl off". If you like the style of the CH cherry, I would try that in 65F. That way you can return it if you need to, and you just order straight through the site. Also, you can exchange it for a different size if you need to. I would start with Ewa, but it's 100% up to you.
-
Thanks, will I need to ask for straps moved in as well? Thanks for all your help, it has been super helpful. Is there a difference between CH and CHP? Or somewhere I can learn about the different Ewa cuts? It is a new world to me. PetiteCollegiate
-
I haven't ordered a halfcup before. Do you think it is better suited for my shape? I like more full coverage. Looking at the CHP Noir or Magnolia. Or would a balconette be better? PetiteCollegiate
-
Hmmm... I think the CH/CHP cut would be best suited to your shape, but it is low coverage. It is still a secure fit though. The S cut is fuller coverage and has taller cups. The BM and SM both provide a fair amount of coverage because they're unlined. CH is slightly more projected than CHP and slightly narrower. Is there a reason you prefer full coverage? You can look at my blog if you like. I've reviewed S, CH, CHP, SM, and 3DM.

Thanks, I will look more into your blog. Also, I live near Bra Obsessed so I'm going to make an appointment and try on Ewas and Comexims in my size! I'm so excited to be able to order through her with alterations and make returns. Hopefully that helps a lot and I will know better what to order. PetiteCollegiate SO sorry for all the questions. It is really helpful hearing from people with similar size.
-
It's absolutely no problem! Really, it makes me feel better about the ridiculous amounts of money I spend on bras. At least my bracoholism is helping people :P That's awesome to get to try things on directly! :) I'm jealous!

helpfulIf the strap issue is the only concern, you can easily take it to a seamstress and have them move the strap in for you. Are you requesting straps to be moved in when you order your Comexim bras? If not, I suggest moving in 2 cm. If you are requesting that already, have them moved in 3 cm. instead.

Yes, this was the second time I ordered this and asked for the straps moved in.

helpfulI'm not as skilled as the ladies below with measurements, but looks alone -- this bra is a cup size too small for you. In pics #3, 4, and 5, in particular, you can see tissue coming out of the cup. It may be that the straps are rubbing on breast tissue, which would definitely be uncomfortable!
As for moving in the straps more, it's my understanding they can do that if requested. Within reason, they'll pretty much do any alteration you request.
If you're worried about returning, I really recommend ordering from braobsessed, as you can return even altered bras to her. She may also be able to help you nail down a size.
Don't give up on Comexim! I promise you, it's worth the wait to find your size in their bras. The fit and comfort are unparalleled.

helpfulYeah, this looks like a pretty good fit! Congrats!
No, afaik Anna Pardal doesn't just let you return bras until they magically get it perfect -- that's not really a business model that works. I personally wouldn't nitpick between AP and Comexim as I find them extremely similar.
If you still find the strap bothersome after a few weeks of washing and wearing, I would say go to a slightly bigger band for your next step. This will relieve some pressure on the strap (ie it won't be pulled into your armpit as much) and also relieve pressure on the sternum. You can test drive this theory by putting just a few extra hooks of extender on it.

Plus one to this. We need accurate measurements, really. I don't think this looks bad on you, possibly a little shallow. You may have better luck with AP, but her bands run tight. Comexim's 2 seamed half cups tend to be more immediately projected, in my experience. But again, there's no way those numbers are correct.
