Bra fitting help » Straps falling, breasts fill the cups but don't look good/comfortable enough?

Issue resolved
It seems to be a shape issue, so I will look for better fitting bras
Original problem
I'm totally new in this bra fitting world. I thought I was a 32A, but surfing the web I discovered I was sooo wrong. This is my first try with a 30D bra (I got this bra size after reading many webs on how to measure my breasts properly). At first I felt relieved that finally my breasts were not squished into small cups, but I don't feel like the bra is supporting enough. First, the straps are falling constantly. I even tried to adjust them so tighly that the buckles ended in my front body and that was the only way to prevent the straps from falling, specially when sitting or bending forward. In addition, I don't see any lift or the slightest cleavage with this bra, I feel like my breasts fill the cups but just barely, they are not lifted in any way, I fell like they just hang in the cups (I don't know how to better explain it). The gore is not sitting totally on my sternum, as you can see in the third photo, and the bottom of the cups are not filled entirely. I can stretch the band more than two fingers from my back (not a lot, but definitely more than two fingers), it fits better than a 32 band, but not properly, it seems. I think that being my first try to find a perfet fit bra, it is a good start, but I'm starting to think it will be impossible to find a comfortable bra, which gives a lift to my breasts... I also tried a Pour Moi 30C bra and it was soooo small in the cups, so I guess I'm a 30D but not in this brand/style??? Any help will be much appreciated

helpfulI think they're lifted just fine. I think this bra is too shallow for you, and you definitely would not want to try a shallower bra. The reason you're not filling out the bottom of the cups and the gore is not tacking is because it's too shallow. Like mentioned previously - cleavage is usually an indicator the cups are too small.
The bra popping into my head for you is Lulu Tout Madeleine, which can be found on Figleaves, in a 30D. The band runs tighter than this bra so should feel better, and the cups are more projected.

Too shallow is sometimes a shape issue. Usually the reason the bottom of a cup is empty is because your breasts come out from your body, at the bottom, somewhat suddenly, but the bra comes out very gradually - so the lowest bit of your breast cant fit in to the flat bit of cup at the bottom. Your breasts will usually push the bra down until it finds the deeper part of the cup
I dont usually find a tighter bands helps with tacking. If your breasts fit properly inside the cups, they should tack. But I would not try another one of this model

I agree. Based on the cup measurements, a 7" cup depth that is 5.5" wide is extremely shallow. Even if you went up a cup size in this bra, I think you would still be flattened down a little by it.

what dbmamaz said, exactly. This is a shape mismatch not really a size mismatch.

helpfulThis is most likely a shape incompatibility. I feel that the best thing to do now is to use the Shape Guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/wiki/beginners_guide#wiki_2._determine_your_shape
My guess is that the floating gore is caused by either too-far apart cups or wrong cup breadth. The empty fabric at the bottom parts of the cups is most likely caused by incompatibility of the level of projection.
Remember, if you buy 10 different 30D bras you will find that their shapes differ wildly. It's very important to figure out your shape and then go for bras that cater to that shape.

Thank you for your help, it's frustrating to see how different bras are, it just difficults finding the right one, especially as I have to buy them online because I can't find bra bands smaller than 32 in my city. I will read the post you recommended me and try to find the shape that best suits me. At least I'm glad to know that it seems that the size is fine, even if the shape is not the best

helpfulIf the straps are falling off, it could be because you have sloped shoulders or the straps are just too wide set, likely because the band is too big. If the band is loose, you could consider trying some 28DDs and see if those fit better.
Cleavage isn't really a great indicator of fit btw. You want a bra to hold your boobs up, not squish them together, though I guess it's easy to confuse the two. If cleavage IS something you specifically want from a bra, maybe try something with shallower cups, like a Natori Feathers or Freya Deco plunge. Also make sure you're scooping and swooping!

I think that it could be both things, because I tried to wear the bra in the tightest hook and it did not get better. Maybe it's the strap position and the band being a little big for me. I think I'm somewhere between band 28 and 30, so it should be a matter of trying. I first thought it was crazy to try a 28 band, but being that I too used to think I was a 32A, I will give the 28 band bras a try too.
I made sure I was scooping and swooping, that helped a lot to check if bras really fitted (I had not heard of that before, so really helpful :) ). I know that cleavage is not a good indicator of fit, I just guess that I wanted my breasts to pop out a little more, but maybe popping out and fitting well are not compatible... Thanks for the help! -
This bra is so shallow that it's flattening you. I think you'll find more "boobage" with a better fit.

I will look for more deep cups in other models and brands! :)

Thanks! They all look good, and I think the bra styles you recommended will fit definitely better.

I am close to you in size and I used to be so sick of bras that just flattened me. It seems like you have the same problem, I am happy to offer any assistance!

I'm surprised to hear that the bra cups could be too shallow, as I was already very surprised that the seemengly "big" cups fitted me. Do you think I should try a 30DD? Or just change the cup style? Thank your for the recommendation, I think I will give that bra a try, it looks really nice :)
