Issue resolved
Bra does not fit at all
Original problem
I'm not sure what is the main issue (though I know there are several problems). After my first try with Pour Moi Promise bra in 30D and taking into account all the suggestions received, I went to a deeper cup bra. This one was lovely and after reading some reviews and photos here, I thought maybe it would work for me... I was sooo wrong! I don't even know where to start! But the summary is:
- The cups are gaping sooo much (it's ridiculous...)
- The gore hurts so much my sternum
- The cup seams are pointing inwards??? (I was very confused by this)I don't know what's exactly happening, but my guess is that my breasts have wide roots, and this bra has narrower underwire than my previous bra attempt. Maybe I'm getting the orange-in-a-glass effect and that's the reason for the cups being half empty???
About the gore... I don't know the cause. What could be causing the gore to hurt me? Maybe my breasts cannot fit this kind of balconette bras? I really like this bra shape but what do you think?
I also think that maybe my breasts are a little wide apart, not much, but definitely in some way. As this bra style seems to have so high underwire and so close cups, maybe it's impossible for me to wear this bra style?

helpfulI think this is a good cup volume for you, but a shape mismatch. I have a few theories about why the gore is hurting, but the main one is holycrapthatisaWIIIIIDE gore. It's also possible the wires are quite firm and tacking very hard, as Masquerade is made by Panache which is known for their extremely firm/stiff wires and that can be very uncomfortable on sensitive sternums and in bras with high gores. This is a fairly tall gore for a bra this size.
It appears the cups are too tall/possibly too open on top for you. You look to be FOB with quite short roots. I don't think the wires are too narrow, in fact they look a bit wide really. If the wires aren't hurting the sides of your breasts, it's unlikely they are too narrow.
It also looks like there is still space between your IMF and the bottom of the cup. It seems you're partial to molded cups, which is totally fine, but have you tried on any unlined bras for kicks? They're so much easier to diagnose fit issues in because they don't disguise problems behind padding or molding.
With short roots and a possibly FOB shape, I would suggest Cleo Lucy and Curvy Kate Bardot next. Both unlined, but both with the potential to reflect your actual fit and shape better. They both have high-ish gores too, but IIRC the gores are narrower than this one and I know the CK Bardot wires are softer. You could probably do okay in Freya's unlined plunge balcony bras too, specifically Arabella comes to mind but it's been discontinued for quite some time so I'm not sure where you'd find one and you'd want a 28 band in Freya. I want to suggest Freya's Lauren-based half cups for something padded, but I'm afraid the half cup bras would still be too open on top. Plus they only start at 30 bands, and their bands are very stretchy.
Hope something in this novel helps!

A lot of times breast tissue under the armpit is your Tail of Spence and doesn't need to be in the cup. Your roots don't look wide to me, mostly because there's no obvious signs of this bra sitting on the sides of your breast tissue. If you were in a cup too narrow, the side of your breast would let you know. It would be uncomfortable.
You'd be very surprised what a well fitted unlined bra can do for boobs. Both the Lucy and Bardot give an amazingly uplifted, very rounded shape. If you can find the purple and black colorway of Bardot on ebay it should be cheaper than the new red and black color available on Amazon.

I don't see breast tissue on the sides, but I feel the cup width is uncomfortable (at least compared with the Pour Moi Promise bra). But maybe it's more due to my breast being a little wide apart and the bra pulling them too close, I'm not sure.
I will have a look on Ebay and look for the bra you recommended. Thank you again :)

helpfulI think this bra looks too projected for you, I think you need a shape more shallow. Luckily a lot of bras out there are shallow! The first thing that comes to my head, as a brand, is Parfait. Their bras are shallower and wider, even the balconettes so if you like that shape that may be a brand that still works for you even in that shape. In general however, balconette tends to be more projected so you may want to try half cups or molded bras instead.

Thanks so much for your help!
I too thought that there was something strange with the gore but as I'm not a bra specialist, I didn't know what it was. The underwire is certainly very firm but I didn't thought it was a problem (I do know!). I also bought a Masquerade basque and the firm underwires are present too (that makes sense now, I didn't know that brand made the bra underwires so hard and firm).
I certainly think that my breasts are FOB, I don't know for sure when it comes to roots, I only know that they are wide, because not all the shapes get to cover all my breast tissue under the armpit.
I didn't think of trying unlined bras because I though they wouldn't give me enough support and my breasts wouldn't look good, but now that you suggest that, I think it makes sense to go and try one of the unlined bras you suggested.
I still don't know if I need narrower or wider underwires. Shouldn't I wear wider ones if my breast roots are wide? My mind is a mess! I'm eager to find my perfect size and shape once and for all...
