Bra fitting help » Are the cups big enough? Why do I get digging on my right side?
Comexim » Vivien Plunge Bra (169) » 60HH 28:9
Issue resolved
Bra was too small, sold it
Original problem
I think this is a pretty close fit, but I am not sure. It is the most comfortable Comexim I've tried yet, but I'm not sure if I need to go bigger still with the cups. This is more comfortable than the Comexim 60H Summer Time that I own. I normally have a problem with the wires digging into my right (smaller) side, but I only very slightly have that problem with this bra. Why is that? Does it have anything to do with my roots? I can't tell if I am wide or narrow, short or tall. The straps have been moved in and gore lowered. Possibly cup height is lowered because I feel like I am popping out a bit more, especially on my left side. I can wear this bra for most of the day, whereas with the 60H I can't wear it longer than a few hours. Perhaps it has to do with it being used, and is softer? The gore ALMOST tacks. I went to Bra Obsessed a few weeks ago, and she recommended sister sizing to 30F from 28FF (not sure what that is in Comexim sizing), and that does feel more comfortable but the gore doesn't tack.

helpfulIf the gore is floating and the cup separation is too much for you, you most definitely need a bra with a narrower gore and thus closer together cups. I see that the cup separation on this bra is 1.1". I definitely suggest getting a Polish bra where the cup separation is 0.5" to 0.9".
On your right side, does the wire cut into the breast tissue or your rib cage?
In short, I think you would do better with a bra with a super narrow gore that is slightly larger in cup volume. Maybe 60J?

It looks to me like the wire is cutting in on the outside, not the inside. with a gore that low, it cant do much damage at all, really. I almost wonder if she measured it wrong? in fact, average for this model/size is .7 gore width

carcrashfish Yes, 60J in Comexim is the next size up from 60HH in Comexim. I looked at Comexim 60J bras and it seems like many have cup separation between 0.6" and 0.8".

I'm always having trouble measuring the gore width. Am I measuring RIGHT above the wires, because that would be like .8
-
You measure at the very top of the gore

FWIW, Comexim uses very soft wires. It's possible that you will not get a Comexim gore to tack for you. If you find a size/customization combination that works well for you in every other aspect, don't let a floating gore stop you from keeping it.

helpfulIt sounds like the wires are too narrow for you, since they're sitting on breast tissue on the outside. The side pictures suggest this too - the wires look like they're pointing towards the front rather than center of your armpit. You might get along better with some UK bras, which tend to have slightly wider wires, and gores that tack on more people. You probably also need to go up a cup size, since this bra is cutting in on top as well as on the side, and a wider cup of the same volume will be even shallower.

I think the wires are a hair narrow on this but not because they point in any particular direction, some people will need wires that point towards their front. The very slight dimple at the end of the wire shows that it is very slightly sitting on breast tissue.

helpfulLooking just at the width and depth and length measurements I'd estimate the bra to be a snug 28F UK

Is that the next size up from a 60HH? I think the wire is cutting into the very end of where my breast goes, if that makes sense, but sore on my ribs as well now that I think about it. I thought I was getting somewhere. Thanks for the suggestion! Offhand, do you know of any Polish bras with that kind of cup separation?
