Bra fitting help » Too small and too closed off?
Comexim » Rose Half Cup Longline (417) » 70G 32:7
Issue resolved
Going to try 70H with narrower gore
Original problem
It is the most comfortable bra I ever owned, and I want to exchange it for one with alterations or possibly a size bigger.
The gore doesnt really tack, and I think I can't get all breast tissue inside. It seems too closed off at the top.
What alterations should I request? Should I go a size up?Can I ask them to make it less closed off on top?

helpfulThis looks like it's sitting below your IMF too. Since this is a halfcup I suspect this style is not projected enough for you; I would recommend trying a plunge instead. (Comexim is very generous with customization and may be willing to make this style with plunge cups if you ask!)
If you're really attached to this bra and/or they can't make it in a plunge style, I do think going up a cup size would help. If you have a particular problem with gores being too wide I think you can ask comexim to overlap the wires?

I'd venture to guess you definitely need a larger cup then. Is a 32:7 your normal size in Ewa? It's mine too and I needed to go up one cup in Comexim (they use 2cm increments between cups whereas most companies use 1 inch).

I'm kinda inbetween 70E and 70F for Ewa, but more like 70F nowadays, so yes that makes sense, thanks :)

I had to size up for Comexim's half cups, I'm normally a 65G/H in their plunges. I got a Sonia half cup on here and took a chance on one that was a 75G because the band ran small and it's a sister size of what I assumed my half cup size would be. It actually works pretty well, the gore only soft tacks, but most my Comexim's are like that, I may ask for overlapping wires on a future order. Sizing up should help, but I'm not sure if the trim might still be an issue, and you might want to ask for the overlapping wires on the gore.

helpfulYes, the cups are definitely too short and too closed in at the top edges for your tall roots. I can tell by looking at the sideways photo and the 45 degree angle photo that your roots are tall; they go almost to your collarbones. I think you would do well to look around for a bra that is specifically made for tall rooted types.
As for cup separation, I think that you may have to put in a special request to Comexim to get a bra whose cups are less than 0.4" apart.
I do think that going up 1 cup volume might help, especially with the outer cup cutting into breast tissue in the sides.
In short, look for a) a bra for tall rooted types, b) special request to make the gore super narrow and c) try going up 1 cup volume.

Thank you!
I read that Half cups are good for tall roots, which is why I chose this, but apparently something went wrong there. I kinda want to cut the cups off somewhere around 3 cms below their end where they start to curve in, then they would be better :D
I will order the cup size bigger with a narrower gore and see how that fits. -
My feeling is that simply ordering a larger cup size in this style won't be enough. You may need to look around at Comexim styles that are specifically made for tall roots.

Saskia_C Do you have any models in mind? Cause I can't really see much difference between the Halfcups.
But from looking at measurements, the regular 2-seemed halfcups are deeper and less wide than mine.
I need a Longline because the wires always dig into my ribs, but if I'm already requesting alterations, might as well let something else be made longline (and hope they don't change the cut with that).

helpfulI'm of no help. I would have probably just tried sizing up. I just wanted to say it's really pretty!

:D yeah it is :)

Yeah the wires just dont want to stay in my IMF but somewhere before it (which kinda makes it more comfortable).
I had read that the Comexim 2-seamed halfcup was so similar to EM CH, which fits me well. But it isn't similar at all, it's much shallower and much more closed off on top.
I had also ordered a plunge on this order, but it is not any more projected, the wires sit too low and hurt on my ribs, plus it is even more closed off on top, which makes a weird angle and looks bad under clothes.
I will ask them to overlap the wires in my next order, thanks :)
