Issue resolved
cups too small, not enough immediate projection
Original problem
I'm still trying to find my right size in something!! I thought this was pretty good (although not that comfortable) until I looked at the side pictures where it looks like I'm not getting the best lift and I seem to not be all the way into the cup even though I swooped and scooped. The back is very tight and there is a real bulging and discomfort. But if I go any looser, than I have discomfort where my boobs rest on the front wires because I'm not getting enough lift.
If these cups are too big and I go down a cup size, won't the bra be even tighter? I've ordered other Freya Bras in 30 FF( enchanted Balcony and Rapture Plunge) and they were too big around and in the cups.
I have touching very dense pendulous boobs and so the gore is often a problem. I've yet to figure out if I'm narrow or wide root.
Today I just posted other pictures of Panache Rhapsody in two sizes if you want to see for comparison.

helpfulIt looks to me like it might be too closed on top and too wide, but pretty close. I'm not quite sure what you mean about 'not all the way in to the cup'. I think the lack of support is wrong shape more than wrong size

helpfulThis looks like it's not an ideal shape for you, but before all else it is also too small. Sizing up might get you a workable, if not perfect fit.
Overall though you need a cup shape that is both deep (including right at the base of the cup) AND tall, while also accommodating center fullness, and you'll usually want a cup depth that is at least 11" (this one is only 10").

By sizing up up on this bra , you mean up a cup size.?
How do I tell if cup is deep at the base of the cup? Which measurement should I be looking at?
I do have trouble with every bra I've tried staying in the Inframammary ridge probably because they aren't deep enough at the base. They always ride down and that kind of hurts. Since posting I've been looking at depth and it seems most are not any deeper than 10 or 10.5.
On the Rhapsody, staying with a 28 would I go GG or even bigger?
Can you tell from the pictures if I am wide root or narrow? -
Yes if you want to stick with the Rhapsody you will probably need to go up to a 28GG, I fear. I'm not sure it would be the best choice for you though.
It is hard to tell root depth from the pictures but your breast root doesn't look particularly narrow or wide. On these photos it looks fairly average.
Unfortunately there is no readily available measurement to tell you if a bra is nice and deep right at the base. For that, it's best to look at reviews and at photos (preferably photos of everyday users--not cosmetically enhanced photos from advertising materials) in your size range, around 28GG/30G/32FF. If the profile photos of users wearing the bra in their best-fitting size show that the bra cup allows the underside of the breast to project out from the body almost at a right angle before sloping up, or at least that it allows the breast to project out without the cup angling up sharply and without the base of the cup wrinkling, creeping down or collapsing under the weight of the breast. It takes some practice to identify the difference but that usually means it has nice depth.

helpfulYou know I thought, the front and side photo with uplifted arms both look pretty good, but when you put your arms down, I agree that it looks a little closed on top and wide. Do see if the straps need to be adjusted. I
Have you read any reviews for Cleo Marcie or Juna? Both have closely set cups and narrower wires than many Panache/Cleo styles, but look rounder than Freya under clothing. Note that Marcie has a firm band and a more open top cup that Juna.
Good luck! You're definitely on the right track.

Marcie might be worth a shot, I can't imagine the Juna being workable for her due to shallowness though.

In the sizes that I own (a 30H in Juna and a 32GG in Marcie), the cup depth and width measurements surprisingly aren't that far off. I have wondered if it runs a bit deeper in higher cup sizes, though - it is more shallow in the few comparisons I tried with smaller cups.
As wendybien pointed out, Primula , the Marcie's generally the deeper cupped bra.
Good luck!

Thanks Painter. I'll try the Marcie .
If anyone else knows of any others that might work.

helpfulThis cup is too small in volume for you (you're spilling out the side and quadding a bit on top). It may be too wide but it could also be that the fact that the band is too small so it's pulling the wires back. You definitely need to size up in the band. I would recommend trying more 30FFs with narrower wires. If the front wires on other bras cause you pain, it's probably because they don't have enough immediate projection (meaning room in the cup right at the wire). Look also for bras that have more immediate projection and make sure you position the wire right in your IMF and tighten the straps comfortably.
I might recommend the Panache Olivia for you--it has a nice forgiving stretch cup with great immediate projection.
If you need to, you can bend a gore outward so it doesn't press into your breast tissue. Sizing up to a properly fitting band will also relieve some og the pressure in this area. However, since you seem to need projection, narrow wires and narrow gores, i would definitely recommend you try polish bras at some point, maybe look at the listings on here for 65FF Ewas and maybe 65HH Comexims?

This Freya Rio and the panache Rhapsody are the first 2 I've tried in 28's. I have tried a lot of 30FF and the bands all ride up in the back and the wires ride down in the front. They don't stay in the fold. But I now realize that it is probably because none had the immediate projection that I need. I'm still trying to recognize from the pictures which ones have that immediate projection. I've wondered about the Polish Bras , but hesitated since I don't know how easy it would be to send back. Thank you for your input. The Panache olivia seems to be close out bra and so far I've not found it in a size that might fit me. Everyone has been so helpful and I've really learned a lot.

Do you live in the US? there are some US and Canadian retailers you can order Polish bras from to start so you'd be able to return them more easily, they are Zathiya.com, braobsessed.com, and sophisticatedpair.com. you can also look at people's personal listings here and on braswap on reddit. You can look at the reviews here to see what bras or brands have better immediate projection, i agree it's hard to tell from pictures. And you can try messaging one of the users who's reviewed a bra you're considering to ask about fit, im sure most of them don't mind :)

Yes, I live in the US. Thank you for those sites.

And another thing... Having looked at both the Panache Rhapsody sizes you tried on, they are both too SMALL in the cup, not too big. (The 30 band was too big for you, though, that much is true and that, in addition to insufficient containment, is likely why you felt unsupported in the 30FF Rhapsody.) Wrinkles when you raise your arm do not indicate something is too large. However, inability to get the entire breast into the cup means it is too small for you in depth, width or height/coverage.
