Bra fitting help » Is this ok, or too big??
Wonderbra » Unknown Model » 36D 36:4
Hello, this is my first time uploading photos of me wearing my bra on a website,
I usually wear D cups in 34 band, but there was no 34D in this model, but since I really liked this bra and 36D in this bra felt comfortable, I decided to buy it,
there was also a 36C in this bra, but when I also tried this on, a little bit of cleavage showed, I guess it meant it is indeed a little tighter than the D cups, so even though the 36C also fit good(perhaps better than the 36D), I did not want any cleavage, I wanted full coverage, and this bra is called full coverage on the package as well(Wonderbras come in little packages)
But I wanted to make sure if they look alright, and look it fits, since I am not an expert in this, I need some help from the experts here Thank you.

helpfulThis is a soft cup (no underwire) correct? Those usually have a more forgiving fit. They are also usually designed based on much older patterns (back when bra bands weren't so stretchy and you would actually want to wear a 34 band on a 30" ribcage) so the bands will typically be snug.
I have a number of similar 34 band soft cup bras and they have similar band measurements, 27" unstretched and close to 30-31" stretched.
If the band does not ride up on you throughout the day as you go about normal activities I would consider it a good fit.

Yes this kind of bra was much more popular in the 1970s and 80s. Before, in the 1940s, 50s and 60s they also had mostly soft cups but the bras usually looked a bit stiff, creating a very sharp breast shape, with a lot of uplift. In the 70s and 80s people started wanting more soft, comfortable fabrics that created softer bra cup shapes, not so high and pointy.

Oh, I see, Now I learned a little history of bra :p but yes, I do really like this kind of bra rather than modern ones for example Victoria's Secret, they do have pretty bras, but I dont feel too comfortable wearing their bras.. :/
-
Yes I love the comfort of old-fashioned nonwired bras! Underwire bras can be very comfortable too, but they are not as forgiving-- you need to have a size and cup shape that is EXACTLY right for you. Victoria's Secret only has a limited range of sizes, so they often put people in the wrong size. Your measurements suggest that you would need a 34F or 32FF in most brands, and these sizes aren't even available at Victoria's Secret.

You're right, every time I went there they would measure me and tell me different sizes, ranging from 32DDD to 36B or C, I get so confused.. and obviously most of the bras I try on there feel like there is not much of support since the band is too loose.. oh I was wondering if the sizes you mentioned, 34F or 32FF, did you mean in UK size or US size? what would be the equivalent size to US size if they are in UK size?
-
In most brands, there is not much difference between a UK F and a US F. A UK FF cup would be like a US G cup.
If it is a bra that is listed here on Bratabase and for which people have entered measurements, you'll be able to see exact measurements, which will be helpful. I would suggest a cup depth of 10-10.5 inches based on the info you have in your personal measurement chart above.

Ok, thank you for yur suggestions.:) you were very helpful!

US brands have different sizing schemes, some will even use F, some will go D-DD-DDD-G, some D-DD-DDD-F, you need to know each brand's scheme, or look at labels and count up cups. Your VS bras will probably have been the wrong shape for you, they're fairly wide and shallow, so it probably wouldn't have mattered evern if you'd have got close to your size, check out www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits for a table of brand sizing in the side bar WIki, and a huge amount of really useful information. Combined with bratabase.com it's all you need, helping you avoid dodgy instore fitters!

Thank you for the info! :) i will make sure i kno each brands sizing before purchasing any bra esp online

helpfulSince this is a wireless bra, as long as it's comfortable, you're fine. It looks like all your breast tissue is in it and I don't think it's too big. If you want to get a wired bra remember you'll be a very different size. You can try this calculator here to get a starting point if you'd like a wired bra: http://www.brasizecalculator.tk/

Ok thank you so much !
I personally do like wireless bras than the ones with wires,
But in case I find bras with wires that I like, I will need to know my size, I will always try them on though becus trying them on is important -
If you're interested in wireless, full coverage bras like this, I believe Elila is another good brand. Here's all the wireless bras that have been added in this size: http://www.bratabase.com/browse/by-size/36:4/?style=6&hide_discontinued=False&new=1

Thank you for the suggestions :) also, when I calculated the size on the website, it came out as 32GG, I knew the sizing would come out different since you told me, but I think 34-36C to D cup is good for me lol
-
well in soft cups it is, but if you want a wired bra, don't be afraid! that's a very common size, and there's a lot of cheap options here, on ebay, and sales on amazon which are often returnable.

Oh ok, I should try it then, I do remember going in the store called Change Lingerie and they gave me 32F and 32H and both fit fine but the F did lack just a tiny room for all my tissues, but still was ok fit.
-
Oh, where are you located? sorry, I assumed US. It might be worth looking at these links for places that carry your size in store: http://bustyresources.wikia.com/wiki/Offline_retailer

Im in Canada, on the first website yu sent, I do see Change Lingerie listed as available store that carry wide range of bras in Canada,
Thanks for all the info! :) -
Change has mostly wide and shallow bras too, so again it won't offer a great deal of choice unless you're that shape. Oh and it may have been a typo, or just happened that 32F in one style suited and 32H in another, but 32G would be inbetween :). I think Change goes D-E-F-G, no DD.
-
I think what I heard is that they do have DD cups but the size that comes after that is E then F, G etc..
-
Thank you for your reply:) Yes they are soft cups, no underwires,
they are very comfortable actually, I just bought it today so I will wear it tomorrow the whole day and see if the band fit stays good, Im guessing it will stay parallele and not ride up,
I believe this type or design of the bra is kind of like vintage, from the old times around 80s?? This brand called Jeunique is kind of similar like this bra, I just personally like this kind of soft cup bras :p
Thanks again for the reply !
