Bra fitting help » underwires too narrow? is this a good shape for me?
Lulu Tout » Juliette Italian Lace Balconette Bra (a-dd) (002391) » 30C 30:3
Issue resolved
maybe a technical 'fit' but just kind of uncomfortable in the end
Original problem
Something about the fit on this bra is not quite right I think -- too narrow wires? shape mismatch? projection issues? cup too small? Help!

helpfulIt doesn't look to bad from the pictures and I'd say it's the right size - but is it comfy to wear?
You wrote that the wires hurt you at the sternum and at the sides, so the issue might just be too long or too stiff wires causing your discomfort. This is a no-go in a bra.
If you like that particular unpadded halfcup style - I made a list of those I know so far, and I made annotations about those I've already tried on in person.

helpfulI think this bra looks pretty great on you, but I do see in the 5th pic where it looks like it's digging in at the side. Maybe look for a bra with wider cups and a lower or narrower gore if those parts are uncomfortable? You could also try bending the wires outward a bit at the parts that dig.

helpfulI had some similar problems with 30D - Midnight Grace » Paige Italian Lace Half Cup Bra (123100) which is also a figleaves brand. I think it's because the wires widen/distort a lot when you stretch the band AT ALL. This gives a flattened shape to the bust and does weird things with your scoop & swoop. I think the wires have widened even further with the scoop & swoop but then tried to spring back a little, causing the digging.
Plus if I recall correctly, the band of my similar bra felt hard/firm. The whole setup made for some discomfort.

Yeah, they look so similar too! The band on this one is SUPER tight (fits like a snug 28 to be honest), which I think is also doing weird things to the underwire and pulling them more shallow than they need to be. Hopefully that'll change as it stretches out a bit, because I've already taken off the tag!

The straps look too wide and digging especially on the left. Are the uncomfortablene? If comfortable then it's a moot observation.

helpfulHi there saw you were looking for comments. As you say theres something not quite right - it looks too low and doesn't look like its giving you any lift. The straps that divide at the cups into two are not the most comfortable design in the world and can bite in and make you sore if you shorten the bra straps too much. I'd suggest trying shortening the bra straps to see if it gives you some lift and is still comfortable. If not then I'd suggest e-baying it and buying yourself a lovely Mimi Holliday full cup comfort bra in unlined lace - has wider cups, dreamy to wear and gives a lovely shape as well as having comfortable straps.
Also try L'agent Monica style.
Good luck

It's far more comfortable on wear 2 than it was on wear 1. I'm hoping it's just a matter of breaking in a bit. I bent the wires away a little bit, which hopefully will help too.
That list is really helpful, thank you!
