Issue resolved
Going to retry this with a band extender to see if the main problem is the wires. Once that is determined, I'll probably try another bra with similar measurements to try to fix the shape issue.
Original problem
This is the first bra I bought after I started learning more about different shapes and got fitted properly. It's technically my size in that the band and cup size on the label fit my measurements, but I don't feel comfortable in this bra at all. the wings on the sides come up almost an inch over the end of the underwire and have a tendency to fold over, and I don't feel like the cups do anything for my shape. I know my breasts sit close together on my chest and that the center gore probably can't be any narrower than it is, but I feel like this bra separates my boobs to the point that they're sitting in my armpits. It also looks like my boobs aren't filling the cups at the top outer corner, where I could probably sew a dart in with the excess fabric (including the weird extra wing fabric. seriously. what's up with that?) I'm asking for fitting help on all my bras because I'm really trying to learn what works and what doesn't.

helpfulLooks to me like you need a narrower cup. The bra looks to fit right, in that it took me a while to see what was wrong. Look for cups in the same size, but that have narrower cup measurements. Also a good bra is going to depend on HOW YOU WANT IT TO FIT. For example. I should be wearing an HH to a J cup. based on how I measure. How ever, I have narrow roots and firm tissue, and have found that a H cup fits me the best, and I have to pick over the bras to find narrow cups with enough depth. Basically look really hard at how the measurements of the bra go together with your body measurements. I decided on the width basically by subtracting the difference between where I wanted the end of the wire under my arm, by where it was. Another thing to look at is, is the band to short? Are you stretching the wire out of shape with a band that is either not stretchy enough, or not long enough. A bra extender is a cheep and easy way to test the band option.

helpfulhaha and I just suggested Elomi on your other post, oops. the problem with fitters is they will only have a few styles in any size, but esp in larger sizes. When I was looking for a better fit, I used a lot of amazon free returns . . . its a slog. But you can actually search on amazon by bra size (just put in bra 44FF for example) . . . see whats there, come here and read any reviews you can find, double-check for free returns.
But i see what you mean - the shape here is pretty meh.

helpfulI think you need a cup size down. And do the swoop and scoop. The wires and such will start feeling a little better when you get the right cup figured out. Also look at Ewa Michalak. Thinner wires on her bras. She also is great at larger band sizes. Some bras size up but don't account for plus size issues that well. Keep trying. Once you find a good fit you will be happy.

helpfulElomi as a brand has pretty wide wires. That said, I love Elomi for their center placed straps. You might try using the compare function or just looking through all the Elomi measurements on here and see if you can find a model with smaller wires. http://www.bratabase.com/browse/elomi/ I will try and find a few for you later after work...
If you scroll down, this page has a list of brands and how they generally compare on wire width. http://bustyresources.wikia.com/wiki/Bra_sizing_by_company

cjarasmith I'm 100 percent sure the band is too small. On another bra's fit check I went into the fact that I'm sized as a 44 band, but most 44 bands are so tight on me that I damn near have a panic attack when I put them on--I have a LOT of soft tissue around my chest and 44's dig really uncomfortably. I think I'm going to get an extender and re-try all of the bras I have in this size, because I know at this cup size the underwires can get really stretchy.
