helpfulI agree the cups are probably way too small. But the band is also riding up on this one, meaning it's too big--maybe not as much as the previous one but it's still pretty bad. It's impossible to get a normal supportive fit in the cups when the band can't anchor the whole bra to your torso properly--the back rides up and the front of the bra collapses and rides downward under the weight of the breasts and therefore cannot support them.

helpfulKris Line uses an increment of 2cm between cups instead of 1 inch like most brands use, so the higher you go, the smaller they run compared to UK bras in that labelled size. This is still riding up, so I would recommend a 38 band for you, and something several cup sizes larger--the cup depth measurement should be closer to your horizontal perimeter. I also recommend Ewa's FB style or maybe one of the Bravissimo bras that comes in an L cup like Bravissimo Nordic Rose (LN336) (but not the Alana because it runs small).

helpfulIt seems that this bra is simply too small in volume for you. I read somewhere that Kris Line's bras do run small in the cups and that this is especially true in their larger size ranges, so it may be the case that 40J and 38JJ in most brands work for you but you may need 40JJ and 38K in this particular brand.

helpfulYes, i think kris line sizes are just different. When I start looking at a new bra, I go to the page of that bra (or the closest one I can find that has data) and look at the cup volume for the size I am thinking of getting. The cup volume should be about the same for most bras that fit you - except that plunges have less measured volume for the same size (because so much of your boob is uncovered in a plunge) and also sometimes with narrower wires you will need less volume
anyways, that usually can help prevent this kind of problem. and even if you dont find your exact size, read the reviews on the main page of that bra to see if ppl in general are saying it runs smaller or bigger or shallow or whatever
OTOH, when I search for bras in 42J on bratabase - they seem to run about a 15 inch depth. Which might mean you are actually much larger than a J since your perimeter measurements run from 19 to 21.
That sort of puts you in the Ewa Michalak FB range - which is pricey. I see a panache melody in a 40K on amazon . . . that should be closer to fitting . . .but even that is listed as only 16 inch depth here on bratabase
wait, there's an elomi caitlyn 36K listed as a 16 inch depth, and amazon has the caitlyn up to 40K . .
