Bra fitting help » Good fit. want similar styles/size. gore won't tack

Issue resolved
I'm so confused still. Not really resolved
Original problem
Gore doesn't tack. It's too separated for me once I get a bra in my IMF. Overall the best fit I've seen and I'm quite happy with it. I was wondering similar sizes and styles to search.

helpfulIf you have average separation without a bra and your breasts only touch when in a bra. the issue is not actually breast separation per se--it's that you are very center-full, and/or center-full at a height where the designer assumed that there would not be as much tissue, and most bra cups are not deep enough in that place to accommodate that. So, if you wanted a tacking gore, you'd need to find cups that are open and deep enough at the center. Narrow gores won't help if the cups are too shallow for all the tissue.
This being said, people whose chest is not very large or heavy may not mind a non-tacking gore, so if this fit flaw does not appear to cause discomfort even at the end of an active day maybe it's not a dealbreaker. I don't have a huge breast volume but I do have a sensitive ribcage and it bothers me a great deal when a gore doesn't tack because it allows the whole bra band/wires to move around on me more than I like. However, it's a very individual thing.

Well if the wire is on your breast tissue that is going to kill regardless! But it sounds like a failure to tack per se might not be a dealbreaker in your case. How do your shoulders feel in this bra? Do you feel like the band travels downward on your torso or that the bra moves around?
-
wendybien Oh no the wire wasn't on my breast tissue in this bra! I meant every other bra I've owned. Before I adjust the cups it is in the center, but after it isn't. Actually this bra was legit amazing all day. I only had faint underwire mark under maybe an inch of my IMF on the edges of my ribcage that went away within a few minutes after taking this bra off. I didn't even realize I had any marks until I lifted my chest and looked closely. I was pleasantly surprised given that all of my bigger bands leave red marks all over me.
I am just frustratingly in between sizes I guess. The 55HH was too small and I thought this fit pretty well, but now after some comments that it looks too big I'm not sure. -
Yes I understood what you meant--that the wires on boob issue was with prior bras, not this bra!
-
wendybien Oh ok. I wasn't sure. It's been a long day and I wasn't sure if I was clear. I just made an edit to my last comment. Because I'm so confused on my size. I guess I'm in-between.

It's very common for people in the smallest band sizes to have taller cups than they need in Comexim. If the smaller cup size was too shallow for you then in this specific bra design, you do need this bigger size. Now, there might be a slightly better design for you (reduced cup height for instance) but I don't think it is necessarily too big.

helpfulThe cups look kinda big on you. From these photos, they look very tall, wide for Comexim, and a little empty. Am I wrong?

melifish It's the first time I've ordered comexim, but I don't think they're big. I have tall roots. There's no empty space and it cuts in some on the side, but not bad. I deleted the two views that showed it better bc my face was in it. I had to lean my arms kinda far forward with an iPhone to get a good pic, so that could be it? The 55HH was too small I ordered both.
-
No, it's not the angle, I'm looking specifically at how wide the cups are in all directions. The reason there's no empty space is because the band is pulling the cups flat against your body. I see that you have a small ribcage, but 55 in Comexim and Ewa Michalak is actually a reaaaallly small band -- I know they get bandied about quite a bit here and on reddit but I have to tell you that a very, very small minority of people need a band that small. Yes, this one stretches to 27, but that's only because the cup is quite big (which is why is may not feel too tight to you).
If you tried the 55HH with an extender the cup would fit, or probably still be too big. Sorry because I don't know your history/what you've tried, this is like brafitting 201 here....sometimes we go from getting folks from bands too big and cups too small all the way to cups too big and bands too small, which is what has happened here; also called 'reverse letterphobia.'
If you want to see what I mean for yourself, try this with an extender. If you don't have one you can try rigging something up with safety pins just to see. The band will feel too big, because the cups are so big, and the cups will stand away from your body and become obviously too large. Make sure, also, that the straps aren't overly tight. For someone your size, the straps should take almost no weight.
-
melifish the band didn't leave any marks. The cups aren't being pulled close to my body, I have center quadding and cutting in. I have a 25 inch ribcage& 35 over bust. How is the band too small? I reverse adjusted the 55HH it was WAY too small before that. I've held just the cup under my chest, it's too small in an HH. I don't care about the letter. I just want it to fit. I was measured a 32DDD at VS and a 30G at Dillard's. I smashed myself into 32DDs and DDDs for years. If I quad over those how would I need a cup with much smaller volume then those had?
-
Also the 55 Hh& J were suggested to me. My pics are super close ups on an iPhone, but I'm very small boned. 27 is the farthest it could be stretched without distorting wires, not the furthest it would stretch. The straps aren't overly tight. I'm immediately projected and my chest sits high up. I just don't get where your suggestions are coming from I'm sorry?!?
-
Sometimes pictures are misleading. I don't know much about your bra history and I don't have a lot to go on here. I'm just telling you what I see in the pictures. I have quite a lot of fitting experience but I have never fitted you, and you know more about your body than I do, so if you think i'm wrong, so be it.
-
Oh yeah my pics aren't the best at all. I was taking selfies from my iPhone with my arms stretched and bending to get a decent view. I wish you lived near me then because I would love a decent fitting. I actually thought my band was bigger than it was until I realized where my IMF was because I'm immediately projected, with a flaired ribcage, & somewhat pendulous. So I'm not sure my measurments are even updated on here(they're semi recent). I have similar bust/UB measurements to Brittany from thin and curvy(but she wears a larger size than she measures& a way bigger size than me). Only I'm a little smaller in the waist& clothes. I do think I'm shallow though, I have tissue up to my collar bone and somewhat far on the sides/under my armpit. That could make a difference in photographs? I'm not sure really. I know I get under boob easily from bands rising up front when they're bigger. I know getting a front view that is at all similar to how it looks in person has been a struggle. I appreciate the feedback though. I already ordered 3HCs in 55J, so if they're too big I'll know!

helpfulYou can special order Comexims with the wires overlapped.

Thanks where do you custom order yours from?
-
I order direct from Comexim. You can put what customizations you want in the comments section at the end of the order.
-
Are 55 bands considered an alteration too? I'm not seeing lower than 60 so far.
-
You may have to special order those by sending an email, I forgot that.
-
Oh ok thanks! Yeah I got really lucky and zathiya had one 55HH and one J on her site. So I just thought they came in 55 bands! Is 3HC an alteration too?
-
3HC is an alteration....unless that is the pattern featured in the photo. Often, however, those are 2HC. :-)

helpfulI see that the bras you have added so far to your profile are Comexim, Cleo, and Natori. EM is known for having certain styles with overlapping underwires, which create the narrowest cup separation, so I definitely recommend looking into EM. I recommend sticking to Comexim and EM styles where the cup separation is less than 1.0".

Yeah before that I wore a bunch of VS bras. They're 32DD &DDDs with way too big a band and the cup is too small. I have average separation without a bra, but the second you push up to my IMF I have practically none. I tried the Cleo Maddie, but I sent it back before measuring and just got the Lily. Cleo is so weird because even if it fits or is too tight the second you move your arms there's lose fabric up top. I pretty much hate their bras more than VS. I also have a Le mysterie. What size should I look at in EM? Or around what size is this bra? I added the measurements.
-
girl333 EM is a brand from Poland, much like Comexim. EM makes certain styles in certain size ranges with overlapping underwires. For example, I know that the EM's HM style has overlapping underwires in certain sizes but you'll have to do more research to fully get an idea for which styles and sizes have them.
-
Im my experience, the most reliable way to get overlapping wires is placing an order with Comexim. Not one of the E.M. I've tried has had overlapping gore wires. Sigh.
-
DressTheTwins Sigh. I think comexim 3HC are going to be the only way I'll get a good fit. I guess I'm going to place an order for one with reduced and overlapping gore. Hopefully I have the right size with the alterations *fingers crossed*
-
Sending you skill and luck: hope you select the right size! I think you will be very pleased with how they fit you....once you have the right size ;-)
-
DressTheTwins Thank you so much! I'm just going to stick with this size and if it's a little small get a bigger one next time. UK sizing has been such a fail for me"/.

I wasn't sure on gore height, someone recommended that, but I definitely want overlapping wires. I'm immediately projected& my IMF starts somewhat high. So when I finally get a bra in my IMF I'm extremely center full! I don't have huge breasts, but they are big for my frame and usually cause shoulder/back pain.
I wore the annika(still am wearing) today and it is amazing. The gore not tacking hasn't really bothered me in this bra bc it's such a good fit; but in my other bras it did. Mainly the 30&32 bands where they under wire was on breast tissue
