Bra fitting help » Gore doesn't tack, cups too big, shape difference?

Issue resolved
Going to try more sizes, especially 30F/32E.
Original problem
Hi! I've tried the 30E (http://bra.pe/XSVp/) in this bra, and recently bought the 30FF/G and 32F/FF based on suggestions here (http://www.bratabase.com/troubleshoot/didil/). The 32's definitely do not fit, but I'm having issues in the 30s. In this one, the 30FF, the gore does not tack, but I don't fill the top of the cups. In the 30G (http://bra.pe/XS2Y/), the gore does tack, but I don't fill the cups even more. I really want this bra to work, but is there just an irreconcilable shape difference? Help!

helpfulIn this bra, the fabric part of the gore isn't supposed to tack I don't think. I've had three of these bras, and only the bottom half of the gore tacked. Your boobs also look about the same width apart as mine and as close together too.
Are the straps still too long when you use the J hook to make it a racer back?
This bra seems to run large in the cups as I've always worn a size down in it. Might be worth trying a 30F too.

xuenylom (and distractedmyth ) hi! The wire part of the gore doesn't tack, not just the fabric part. It does tack in the G but not in the FF. I don't know what my size actually is yet, so I'm not sure where 1-2 cups bigger than that would be. As for the J-hook- I didn't actually try it on this bra! It got hidden beneath the strap so I didn't think it had one until I was measuring it. It does feel a lot better hooked, and I think I fill the cups properly now.
melifish I skipped the 30F based on suggestions on my last request for fitting help, haha. The 32s are definitely too big in the band, though. Even on the tightest hook I can pull it out several inches at the back.I can try a 30F as well, I'm just worried about the gore because in the 30E my boobs really were smushed together, and already with the FF it's not sitting flat, like it does with the G (thought the G cuts in under my arms when i move them forward, as if the cup was too wide? though there is no empty fabric). It does feel much better with the J-hook, though.

I just want to second the fact that the top part of the gore isn't supposed to tack. You'll notice that the wires are only in the bottom part. It's unrealistic to expect the portion without wires to tack. That fabric-only section is more for *gentle separation.* Sports bras will not fit you in the same way a traditional bra will in order to perform their function, so it's better to not have the same expectations. Many sports bras are full-on compression (aka Shock Absorber) where your boobs are completely smooshed together. The Panache Sport is different in that it at least allows *some* feeling of separation. Just keep in mind that if the Panache Sport fit like all of your other bras, then your boobs would move around JUST AS MUCH as they do in your other bras. The gore tacking should not be your main concern in this bra since it's for sport -- try to focus on comfort and bounce factor, which is what most of us need for activities. The "Bra Police" are not going to fine you because your bra doesn't tick all of the fitting boxes. ;)
I also want to confirm that this bra does run 1-2 cups big on most people. If you size down, you'll probably find the cup height to be more acceptable. I am a 32J/JJ and sizing down to 32H/34GG worked for me.

BumbleBean Hi! Maybe you didn't see my comment above, but the wire part doesn't tack in this size, not just the fabric part. It does tack in the 30G, but that one definitely has too much space at the top. With the J-hook on this one, I think I fill out the cups correctly.
I don't have any bras that fit, so I don't really have any expectations, honestly. If I don't really have to worry about the gore tacking in sports bras, then great! I am just trying to avoid the compression bras which is all I've had before, I really am looking for the separation this bra is supposed to provide, and I figured the gore tacking was a good indication of that.
Again, I don't know what size I usually am so I don't know where 1-2 cups down would be. -
30F/32E, man. Don't worry about the gore.
You can go ahead and try other sports bras if you are that worried about it, but I sense you will like this one the best anyway -- of the wired ones it has the firmest wires (so most likely to tack) and the least compression as compared to other quality sports bras like shock absorber, Freya, and enell.

melifish Alright, thank you! One more question- this is how the band of the 32s fit on the tightest hook, regardless of cup size- http://bra.pe/I4xZ/
Would it be worth it to try a 32E? Is that the kind of stretch that's okay even in a sports bra? -
You know how people are always saying when the cup is too small it will make the band feel too small? that's true, and the opposite is true as well; when the cup is too big the band will feel too big. That's because the cup and band really work together and extra cup space is just as bad news as insufficient cup space -- it destabilizes the whole bra. The too-large wires on a cup that's too big will get pulled really far to the side, making the band feel extremely unsupportive. So the fact that you tried a 32 band in cup sizes that were too big unfortunately doesn't tell you whether a 32 in the right size cup would fit.
I'm not actually a big believer in the "pulling the band away" shot -- it doesn't really tell me much. In order to not be able to pull the band away from your body, you'd have to be wearing a bra so excessively tight you could barely get it on. It's something you really have to feel, not see.
How tight you want your sports bra depends what you're doing in it and how long you're wearing it. Trampoline, HIIT or sprinting for 40 minutes tops? proabably pretty tight, if you need the support. Long distance running? Yoga/stretching? Anything that involves wearing it for more than an hour? Then you need room to breathe just like in a regular bra and should choose based on a stretched band measurement that's around your loose UB or a bit bigger. This bra runs tight in the band. I'm not steering you toward one or the other, I just think you should probably try both and see.

Gotcha. Thank you so much for all your help! I'll keep trying both bands and more sizes.

helpfulIs it the wires of the gore that don't tack, or the fabric part that is in picture #7 that you're talking about? If it's just the fabric, that may be more of an aesthetic problem than function problem, since the wires aren't designed to go all the way up. As for the cups, have you tried making it a racer back? I'd also recommend trying a 30F before giving up.
And it looks like I just repeated everything xuenylom said, lol

ding ding ding, all this. this bra runs 1-2 sizes big in the cups, and since the wires don't go all the way up (on purpose) the top of the gore doesn't tack.
totally agree 30F, why'd you skip it? :) the 30E was just a hair too small. Remember that this bra is lower on the sides in order to not get in your way while you're exercising, so yeah, some armpit flesh might escape. if this bra's too big in the cup, it will not support you while you're exercising.
you also might find 32E more comfortable, since this runs tight in the band. I know the 32s you tried were huge, but in the right cup, the band will feel more appropriate.
