Bra fitting help » Top Half too open?
Comexim » Musetta Balcony Bra (299) » 65D 30:4
Issue resolved
I sent it back, and will try 60D maybe.
Original problem
This bra is part of my first Comexim order. It is too wide, as I had to order 65D instead of 60E to be able to exchange it. It fits better than I thought, but I am not sure if it is just too big or if the cut is incompatible. I think it may be too open on top for me. The bottom part is filled ok, but the top part wrinkles especially after some time. Do you think asking for 60D might help, or is it just not my cut? It is such a beautiful bra, and unpadded bras are hard to find for me.

helpfulI agree with your assessment, I think the cup is just a hair too deep for you on the inner part of the breast, where you have less volume. I'm not sure Comexim is going to have any perfect solutions for you since their trademark shape is narrow and projected, but you could talk to them about cup features that make it shallower at the center. Lowered gores in particular seem to decrease center depth, that might help you.

Well shape is a bit tricky, and to make things more complicated, when we say "oh I'm shallow" or "I'm projected" it's implied that the person is describing themselves RELATIVELY to the average shape in their size range. I would say, based on photos, that you actually are medium-projection or even a bit more than average for your size range, but most of your breast volume is further out on the side, not in the center (and this shape is very typical in your size range).

True, and I don´t have much volume on top either, I would guess I am more even to full on bottom. Not quite typical for my size range maybe. And my volume is more to the sides, yes, with quite some space in the middle. But it likes to be pushed to the middle, so I sometimes need more room there than thought. The classical Comexim Plunge works good for me, what surprised me a bit. I just ordered reduced center gore because I don´t need that much coverage, and the reduced cup height because I just don´t have any volume left that high and often have problems with too tall cups. Best example is Cleo Maddie, 28DD quads in the bottom half but the top of the cup stands away at my armpits. Just too tall, and too open and too firm material. I found a lot of padded bras that work for me, Ewa Michalak is great, the M cut, the PL,the 3D and the CHP. Just CH was wierd. But I want more unpadded bras....

Yes, in unpadded bras, a lot of low plunges will be great for you because they tend to be cut shallow at the center, but not necessarily shallow all over (which you do not need, yuo need some projection).

helpfulThe bra does seem to have more projection at the top-center parts of the cups than is ideal for you. I recommend looking at other cuts. If you order a 60D other parts of the cups might be too small for you.

helpfulHey there. I actually just recently bought this for review purposes and haven't had a chance to get that up yet -_-
This is most definitely very open on top and projected. For me, I bought 65E which fit me snugly in Comexim, and in this I initially thought I would need a 65D. I tightened the straps on mine and that helped,
From your photos, your bra looks similar on you as mine does for me. However if it's wrinkling and you tried tightening the straps/ can't comfortably tighten them, I'd say this is just too projected on top for what you need.
If you're super in love with the bra, maybe consider 65C/60D, but you may have issues with cutting in then. On mine, the top seam that separates the lacey part from the mesh on the cups is tighter than the lacey part on top, so even with tightening the straps, it no longer gapes, but my larger side gets a little squished from the weird seam.

Yes, my feeling is the same. It is very open on top. I had a test order with Comexim, to determine my size there, I guessed it would be 60E but didn´t try the different cuts yet. So I ordered many different cuts but all in 65D. And I had the Poison Ivy and Geisha Plunge in 60E with reduced center gore and reduced cup height to try that as well. Those two were a perfect fit, with Geisha being a bit smaller and working just so. The Ginger I had in 65C, that was just plain too small, Patricia in 65D was ok. Sonia 3HC fit well in 65D, just the cup height was a tad too high for me, about 1cm maybe. I guess if I want a 3HC I have to ask if they can reduce the cup height there. Mimi 2HC in 65D didn´t work at all, the center gore floated (it is too shallow I guess) and the top cut in. But overall 65D worked well, and 60E is perfect. So I guess I will ask Comexim if they can make me Musetta in 60D, and hope that it works. It is such a beautiful sheer bra and it looks quite promising except for the top problem.

helpfulThe 60D may not work of course, but I actually do think it's worth a try. While your breasts aren't narrow-set, your frame certainly is, and that might mean the wires won't get too narrow for you.
One note -- you seem to have your shoulders thrust very far back in these pics, perhaps to get your arms out of the way of the picture. It is helpful to have some photos with very neutral posture. I suspect there might be a little more room in the cup than is visible here. My suspicion is that whether or not it works for you in the right cup size, this is one cup too large.

The wires have room at the sides in fact, so 60D will be ok. I have never met a too narrow wire so far, because of my small frame there I am sure you are right. When I started with brafitting I thought I would need wide wires like most in my size range, but for me that isn´t true. I tried to stand straight, but my back is a little crooked. I will try to slouch a bit next time.

That is what I thought, thank you for your opinion! The Comexim Poison Ivy Plunge that I ordered with reduced center gore and reduced cup height fits perfectly, the Sonia Half Cup fits good too, it is just a bit too tall at the top. I am new to bratabase and not quite sure about my shape so far, but I guess I am pretty shallow. It is very hard for me to find unpadded bras that fit. The only one that is wearable for me so far is Cleo Marcie. Maybe Comexim has an idea how Musetta could work for me. Funny thing is, the really shallow cuts don´t work for me either.
