Bra fitting help » Good, but digs into ribcage
Cleo » Neve Plunge T-shirt Bra (7196) » 32FF 32:8
Issue resolved
Thanks for the advice, I will try a non-molded style
Original problem
New to this. This is the first bra I've tried in this size, and it fits much better than the 34DDDs I've tried, or the same bra in 34F & 32F. I was pretty happy with it at first, but there are a few issues. The wires seem to rest a little too low & dig into my ribs. The gore rests flat on the bottom but not the top. The band feels fairly tight, but I can fit a hand underneath, so I'm not sure. I also notice, looking down, that the shape is kind of a flat line across the front, then points out to the sides, instead of being more curved in front. Not sure it shows well in the photo.

helpfulIt might be because this bra is too shallow for you. The Cleo Neve, in addition to having a band that runs 1/2 or 1 band size too small, is meant for fairly shallow shapes. It is possible that your level of projection is average or above average, in which case there are other bras in 32FF and 30G that might be a better fit.

helpfulThese look like my boobs! I have the same issues in the Neve, and this may be the best fit you can get in this particular style of bra. (or maybe since your band is hooked on the tightest hooks, you can try a 30G for a tighetr band but same cup size).
1) It looks like you've got a lot of center fullness/center heavy breasts. If you lean forward and look in the mirror, does most of your breast tissue seem to fall inbetween your nipples (as opposed to being outside/closer to your armpits)? If so, you'll find a better fit in unlined styles designed for center fullness. Moulded bras do not play well with center heavy breasts. You see how most of your breast tissue is uncovered? You can hang on to this bra if you want a cleavage-y style, but it's never going to be the best fit or super comfortable. This is also why the cups don't curve back in towards your sternum like you want them too - you have too much boob for this particular bra. Sizing up will not help.
2) Your boobs look like they want more immediate projection in a cup.In moulded bras, do your boobs tend to push the bra cup down, leaving a gap between your boob and the underwire? Without a bra, do your boobs hang down below your inframammary fold (either a little or a lot), or do you have firmer tissue? Both of these can cause fit issues in moulded bras. Better immediate projection can be found in unlined styles, like Freya, or the cut and sew foam cups of Ewa Michalak and Comexim.
Padded/moulded cups don't accommodate projection (center, immediate, or in general) well. Your gore issues can be caused by too much projection (center/immediate/general) in a too shallow cup. Trying on other bras, especially seamed bras, will help you determine exactly what your boob shape is and what style bra your boobs want. I'd recommend trying something unlined in a 30G based on your measurements.

Yea, i'd so bigger cup and not molded. There is a difference between lined and molded. You can have a lined bra with seams or an unlined bra with seams, but the seams is what makes the difference. You can really control the shape of the cup if you sew 3 or 4 pieces of fabric together. There are no molded bras in my size, but i have lined and unlined bras.

helpfulYeah the cups are too small. When the bra is too shallow or even with a bad shape match, the boobs will push the bra down in order to fill out the cups in the right shape. You seem to have bottom fullness, which means this bra is probably made for more top fullness, because your breast are pushing the bra down in order to fill out the fullest part of the cup. If you can try wearing an unlined bra, we can help alot more that way.

helpfulI agree with previous posters, the Neve is particularly shallow and is typically an awkward fit for most people in your size range... I'd ditch it and try again with a different bra. If you like a sexy, youthful look the Marcie is a hugely popular bra with more average projection, creates the round shape that most molded-cup-aficionados are more comfortable with at first, and is easily available almost everywhere.
One thing though, if you have a sensitive ribcage, you may find that all these Cleo bras, which have what's called a "bandless" front (back band does not continue at the front below the wires) are less comfortable than fully banded bras.

Thanks to you both! I thought I would be considered shallow, but what you're describing seems on point. I haven't done well with unlined, but probably because I was trying completely wrong sizes in the past. I'll check these out.
