Bra fitting help » Band too big, center gore not flat
Curvation » Side Shaper Underwire (5304457) » 40DDD 40:6
I have lost weight and the band is too big, and can't tell if I need a bigger cup or not. I have measured myself and calculate my size to be a 36F. I have a ton of breast tissue at my sides under my arm, which makes bra fitting difficult.

helpfulWell, often different brands will fit to slightly different sizes, but it does look like 36F might be a good place to start. I'm not so sure your breasts are really widely set (you marked yourself as 'separate boobs' which to me means wide-set?) since your gore is sitting on boob tissue.
You might want to lean towards bras where the reviewers say the wires are wide, tho, not ones where the reviewers say the wires are narrow. (i always read reviews here, my size if possible, all reviews if not possible) before trying a new bra

To determine if you close or wideset it is how your breasts act while supported in a good fitting bra or by doing so with a hand bra. Here's a blog with a lot of helpful info for determining shape. http://thepetitecollegiate.com/2016/04/21/photo-glossary-bra-fitting-and-breast-shape/

Thank you very much, that was very helpful to me. It looks like I'm not wide set like I though I was.

When a gore sits on my breasts I receive virtually zero lift. And, I'm in pain. In fact, what I thought was my smaller breast, because it never filled cups, is the larger, more center full breast that always has a wire holding it down. You may thoroughly appreciate a narrower gore :-)

Do you have any brand recommendations for a narrow gore? Or is there a certain style of bra I should look for? The gore doesn't hurt me at all in this bra, it just sits a little too wide I suppose.

Many Polish manufacturers have more narrow gores....Comexim and Ewa Michalak are the two with which I am most familiar.

idk about elomi's gores? panache newer models are pretty narrow. but you can look at the measurements on a bra - do a search, look at your size, compare the widths
-
Jj Would you add the "gore width" search parameter? Please :-)

Elomi gores tend to be wide but they do have a lot of plunges which are true plunges thus and shouldn't sit on tissue. Their wires would probably be great for OP because they are nice and wide and would scoop that side tissue in. They mold to the body too, so they should get wider, if anything.

helpfulif you look at the depth on this bra and your laying measurements they match, so a sister size would be two band sizes down from this bra, at a 36F like you figured. So basically the same cups just a smaller band. Elomi runs wide, Ck is pretty good for wide roots as well.

They are wider set in that I can fit 3 fingers between them, unless I'm measuring wrong. I think the bra helps push them towards my midline which in turn makes the underwire sit slightly on my breast, you can kind of see it in the 3rd picture.
