Issue resolved
Wide wires and too many sister sizes up for me
Original problem
No spillage anywhere, no gaping, most of my breasts are covered, comfortable, gore is tacking. I don't know if this is how the bra is suppose to look as all the models I see have rounded breasts where as my top shape is tall and shallow. I can fit my whole hand under the band but it doesn't seem to ride up. Sometimes when I move my arms around, the top part of the cup gaps a bit. I was told not to worry about that. Even though I am shallow up top, the material at the top of the cup bends in now to lay flat against my chest often instead of gaping when I move my arms. I guess it depends on how I raise my arms. Did I miss some fit issues? If you see my other bras, this fits the best right? (Sorry it is so bright. You can check the same bra in black on my page if you want. Just hard to see the underwire in a black bra.)

helpfulThis looks pretty good! I can't see anything wrong with the fit. It is probably intended to be a little less full-coverage than it ends up being on you, but this is not a fit problem per se if it is comfortable and supportive. I'm amazed how small they cut their 32 bands but this is obviously a very good thing for you since your ribcage is so tiny. If it stretches out, you may need alterations or a Rixie clip to keep it snug and prevent the back pain you wrote about recently.

helpfulHow is the wire width for you? I'm just wondering whether this bra might be a little bit wide. It looks like the cups wrap all the way around under your arms - does your breast tissue extend back this far?

Ok, let me start by saying, I am confused about my breast width. When I do the pushback test, the breast tissue does go back to my back. If I force all the side breast tissue forward using my hands, I feel like I could have narrow 4.5" underwires. It feels like just skin and bones on my sides when I push all the tissue forward but I haven't actually tried a bra with really narrow underwires to test it out all day to see if narrow underwires will work. I guess I am wondering if the reason my breasts go back so far is migrated tissue and wearing small cup sizes and loose bands for years and years. So should I try to wear narrow underwires and force the tissue forward? Or will I end up having underwires on breast tissue? But when I took off my bra yesterday and looked at the underwire lines, they followed my breast tissue (as it naturally sits) very well...except underneath my breasts. There was a bit of space beneath my breast so this bra may not have enough immediate projection for me but I will still be ok with that. The underwire followed the breast tissue on the sides! So the wide width of this bra is working in my favour right now. I guess I am wondering if it is migrated tissue, should I try to force it back with narrower underwires gradually? Or this is the way my breasts are and will always be like this? So am I that wide?..right now, yes. Should I be and am I naturally narrower? Not sure? Any insight?

It is difficult to work out root width and height, I know! I think the best guide is how well the wires follow your breast root, as judged from the marks left on your skin after taking off the bra. If they seem to be following the contour of your breast, then I think the wires are probably the correct width for you.
I'd also say that the best approach is to fit to your current size and shape, and not try to second guess what - if any - changes might happen in the coming weeks or months. I also don't think it's a good idea to force anything, and certainly not to try to train your breast tissue forwards, as you will just end up with wires resting on your breasts, which could be very uncomfortable.
There is nothing intrinsically good or bad about having wide or narrow roots, and both have their individual fitting challenges. I'd suggest that your roots seem to be relatively wide for your ribcage and breast volume, but maybe that's just your natural shape (not migrated tissue), and there's nothing wrong with that - it's just another aspect of fit that you need to consider when choosing a bra.
I remain undecided on the phenomenon of tissue migration. I apparently went up a cup size within a couple of months of wearing better fitting bras, but maybe I just got better at measuring myself, or at recognising a good fit. I certainly didn't notice any visible change in size or shape, and my roots end where they always have. I just now recognise - thanks to trying and comparing many bras - that they're at least slightly narrow.
So, I wouldn't count on your size or shape changing dramatically, and I'd suggest focusing on finding your best fit for where you are at the moment.
By the way, I'm sorry the bras you bought from me didn't work out for you! :/

alexad Thanks! Good advice! I like hearing all the different opinions on tissue migration. I just went up in measurements but it is because I bought a proper tape measure! Haha! I love the bras you sent and I actually still use them. It helps to get a bunch to try on from the same buyer so I can try them on without spending so much in mailing costs! They are still better than what I had. If you ever want to sell your Nessa Frida Push Up (next size up), let me know! Thanks again!

Oh no, I'm not letting my Nessas out of my hands! :D
Anyway, glad to help!

helpfulI'd probably just try going down in the cup size as the wires seem to be going quite far back and sitting well under your breasts. That could be why it is making you look flat chested as it totally covers all of you. It's a beautiful colour on you though.

I think it's fits, but its a sister size to what you need. I think you should try a 30DDD or a 28F, the cups are the right depth but too wide which pushes the tissue flat. Another way to try and find the sides of your breast tissue is to stand naked in front of a mirror and raise your arms up as high as they can go like your going to touch the ceiling, then the edge of your breast becomes clear because all the skin is pulled tight around it.

cjarasmith Thank you! Using this method, my breasts are actually narrow. This may solve all my fit issues here...(lightbulb appearing over my head). Now it makes sense why the cleo juna and chantelle don't fit as they have wide wires! I think having a more narrow underwire will round out and shape my breasts better too! Thank you! And you are correct that I sister sized up way too much as my La Senza only starts at 32" and I am a 26FF/G. These bras are comfortable and only $5/each, so I guess there has to be compromise for me with my local store. When I have birthday money, I can splurge on a proper bra. I am pretty sure the volume is correct as I tried a lot of 32Ds (all too small), 32DDs lightly lined (good fit in terms of volume), 32DDs padded and pushup bras (too much spillage). The pushups may have shaped me better but my boobs were not covered properly. I didn't try on E cups in push ups. I will look for narrower wires though in smaller band sizes and see if that solves more of my fit issues I have experienced. Thank you!

The wires look wide to me as well.
