Bra fitting help » Cups gaping by the gore?
Freya » Deco Moulded Half Cup Bra (4232) » 28F 28:7
Issue resolved
It's just a minor fit problem overall
Original problem
This bra is so close to fitting, but the gaping at the gore never goes away. I know gaping is expected of moulded bras as you move around, and this is better than other Decos I've tried. Ugh!
What do you guys think? I think its a common problem with this bra. Maybe i could pull off a 28E - it would quad, but it'd give me great cleavage. Maybe if i find one cheap. I'm probably passing this one on..
I've tried the Freya Deco Plunge in 30E, but found the cups a bit large and too tall. Might try a 28E in it since this isn't working.

helpfulI wonder if a 30DD would be helpful? I was looking at the cup depth for this bra and it looks like this one is 8.6 deep, and the 30DD is 8.0 deep. (I've been trying to choose sizes based on cup depth - haven't been able to experiment with this yet - please tell me if I'm totally wrong!)
I get gaping like that too - I think it's due to my breasts being fuller on the outside, but not too full on the inside - even though mine are really close together - they aren't full.
Hope that helps a bit. Is that side smaller than the other side? I think that it looks pretty good otherwise.Updated on July 8, 2016 Flag this

annabellynn Hmm, I wonder if it's also in the band being too loose? if it's moving around too much and shifting a lot to let more gaps happen?
I wonder if the 30 cup will fit, but you'd need a adjust the band to make it fit?
Or are you perhaps more narrow and the bra is too wide? Though, I do agree with wendybien that the large side looks to fit the bra perfectly!

helpfulI'm sorry, I'm not sure what the end-result problem is with this very slight gap? Do you feel unsupported, or does the gore hurt or press in due to a lack of "boob pushback" against the cup?
It looks to me like this cup volume perfectly fits your larger boob (per photo 1, there is no gap on the right side of the photo) and is therefore just a HAIR bigger than needed for your smaller side, but this is better than being too small. You always want to properly fit your larger breast because too-small cups entail far more pain and annoyance. So if this slight gap is a problem for other reasons, I'd ditch this design altogether instead of sizing down to a cup volume that will be significantly too small.

You're right - it's not causing a problem really, I just don't like how it looks for the most part. The angry gore marks in these pics are actually from the Marcie I had been wearing.
The gore gaping does get worse as I move around. It becomes more visible from the front and will begin to happen more on both sides. It doesn't look too horrible in the pictures since i just put it on, but it gets worse as I wear it. I guess I was just wondering if anyone had any insights or observations on things I was missing.

I don't think you're missing anything... It is your size; you just have boobs that are much fuller than they are tall so most bras will fit you with more vertical coverage than the designer intended... How does it look with clothes? I think it's easy to get hung up on how a bra looks without clothes but unless it's a bedroom item most of us really don't spend all THAT much time without a shirt on, so I would tend to recommend prioritizing how something looks with clothes vs. just the bra.

I tried it today and the gore is manageable. I do think it has some trouble staying in my IMF. The cups hit me in a place where any hint of quadding is pretty obvious under shirts - maybe it would work better for someone with more firm tissue? Fuller cup bras don't do that on me. Otherwise it gives me a round but kind of low set shape, probably due to all the padding at the bottoms of the cups. I feel like I'm already low set, so not the best thing.
So I'm still pretty ambivalent about it. I start to like it when I look past the gore gaping, but I'm still not sure about it under clothes. Probably time to move on!

Yes, for me at least if I hate how it looks under clothes I will NEVER wear it! I would ditch it in that case.

helpfulWe habe The same Size and yes,i know that gap from some of my bras too. This is why i only wear half cups. I prefer The 'totally tartan" bra from Freya and all those You Are similar in cut and style because of The small piece of fabric that covers The upper part of The boobs like a frame. This works for me to avoid This gap. The Freya 'secret garden' e.g. Has This frame too. I tend to measuring The cups depth as well to compare it to The one of my favourite bras.

My breasts measure about the same, but I think there might be a slight shape difference or something because I've had trouble with a few other bras gaping slightly more on one side. Unfortunately though as I wear this bra the gaping will start to happen on both sides.
I'll have to compare cup depths - I've been worried about the 30 because the band is known to be stretchy.
