Bra fitting help » Underwire slippage from lack of projection at the wire. When in IF it gapes more
Cleo » Lily Balconnet Bra (7351) » 30GG 30:10
Issue resolved
Accepted top gaping as it provides good projection. Wires still too wide, but not enough that it's a huge issue.
Original problem
Band doesn't feel that tight, but looks as if it's about to rip out the hooks.
Straps feel too wide.
Gaping at top. If I force the wires into my inframammary fold, the gaping is extensive. If it slips down like it wants to, the gaping is minimal but still exists. No spillage, it feels a lot like a hand-bra, which means it's like jello on top.
Is it a good enough fit to settle for it? It would cost 12.60 USD to send it back, and I'd probably use the return money to try a cup size up in the Freya Gem that fits me surprisingly well (I can post some fit-pictures of that?).
I think the underwire slippage is from a lack of projection at the wire. I can deal with minimal gaping. My boobs are super-jello-y in this. It feels fairly supportive and the shape is fine. Unlike most of the other bras, even the ones that didn't fit so well, this one makes me strangely uncomfortable. It might be because of the straps, or because I'm not used to the position it takes. The bottom half of the boobs and nipples itch upon removal.

helpfulthe slidey down thing happens to me all the time, even in EMs. Fit looks fine, but if you hate it you will avoid wearing it lol. IDK how much you paid for it, but maybe try to sell it on here for like return price +6$, so you can break even or whatever, and if that doesnt work return it. If its uncomfortable and you just dont like it, I wouldnt keep it. I've stubbornly kept a lot of bras in the past to save 10$ bc I'm cheap AF, and I end up having to sell them used at half price because I wore it twice and never again.

helpfulIs it good enough is a personal question - is it comfortable enough to wear? Does it look ok under clothing? Do you really hate it or is it better than your other bras?
I have to say, usually cleos have pretty good projection. Usually wires too low means not enough projection at the bottom. But it also can mean the cups are too narrow for your breasts. Or the back of the band is not places properly? Sometimes i over-tighten my straps and the back starts riding up, which makes hte bra fall down.
By the numbers, the cup should be too small, as the cup volume is smaller than your breast perimeters, but it doesnt LOOK too small.
The fact that it gaps when you pull it up makes me think you might just have short roots? have you tried any half-cup bras? I'm wondering if those might work better for you?

I haven't tried any half cups.
I've listed all the bras I've tried on Bratabase, though, so you could take a look at them if you like. I'm wearing a too-small CK Madagascar with an extender currently, although I may start wearing my Freya Gem 30G instead just for the projection it gives.
I've got an EM Top Nina, a Freya Rio 32GG, a Cleo Kayla 32GG and a few other things that should be showing up next week, and I'm concerned that I'll have to either sell them or send them back.

helpfulStraps that are too widely-spaced for the wearer force you to angle them inwards, which directly causes the gaping of the upper cup. Just like, if you are wearing a shirt and you grab the fabric at the neckline and pull it laterally toward the sternum, the neckline will gape.
Where did you buy it that it would cost you that much to send back???Updated on July 9, 2016 Flag this

It was purchased from Bravissimo and so it would have to go back to the UK.

curious why you ordered from the UK? there are often older models on sale on amazon

I checked Amazon. There's not one in 30GG.
Bravissimo was suggested on Reddit.

Just FYI: I returned two bras to the UK for $5 USD using www.paypal.com/shipnow. I used the packaging BraStop sent: bras wrapped in one sheet tissue paper inside a plastic sleeve.

I don't hate it, but I don't like the way the top of my boobs jiggle in it.
I have it listed already in a couple places, but if I don't find anyone for it I'll probably send it back by Wednesday.
