Bra fitting help » Too wide, cup too big?
Cleo » Kali Balconnet Bra (7561) » 34F 34:7
The bra seems to fit in my IMF really well (something I've had a hard time with). All my breast tissue is encompassed under my arm, except the wire seems to go up too high into my arm pit.
I like the shape in the bottom half of the cup and it seems totally full with no wrinkling but the top of the cup is way too big. Also the bra itself is uncomfortably wide. The straps were digging so painfully. It's almost like the bra fits everywhere until the lace portion and then just become too big and wide everywhere.

helpfulI agree with you it is just too big, it also looks to have 'a lot of wire' (wire longer than cup depth) which in this size range can mean a bra cup runs wide and tall. Try a 34E. When you get closer to a correct overall volume you'll be better able to assess whether the shape is right for you.

helpfulI think this is probably too projected but it's difficult to tell without your bust measurements (I use ABTF measurements rather that bratabase) or being able to see the end of the wires under your arms to assess width. If they aren't much too wide, or are even too narrow, then I think you could be shallow and FOB becomes less significant, if they are plenty wide, then try a size down.

I don't know how useful this will be but I have this bra (I'm new and still in the process of adding my bras so no details yet sorry) and it fits me ok at the top. I am shallow, wide rooted though smaller 28E/F and little pointy but I have a more even fullness and it looks to me that you are fuller on bottom which is causing the weird shape at the top which could be the main problem. Saying that, I'm not aware of any shallow wide bras that suit full on bottom because I avoid them as they don't suit my shape. It might be something to look out for in other bras though. Possibly try Cleo Juna? I have picture of mine where off the upper fullness it cuts into my breast. Also, the cups are aren't quite wide enough for me and to short at the sides where the Cleo Kali does fit me there. Maybe this means the cups at the side would work better for you? It is slightly padded though, hopefully you don't mind

But Kali is for FOB, if you have softer tissue then it may work for even to FOT shapes, but it should work reasonably well for OP if she's FOB.
OP if you could post your 3 bust measurements a la ABTF and possibly post photos (elbow back not up, 3/4 shot with camera a little above nipple height) to show the fit across the top of the cup and the wire width under the arm it may well help. Putting your arms up stretches the flesh and stops us being able to see the "dink" of an underwire sitting on breast tissue.
Assessing wire width is always a big part of working out whether the bra has enough or too much projection - if a bra looks too big but the wires are perfect or already too narrow then there's no point sizing down and the bra is almost certainly too projected.

So, I haven't logged in/ commented in a while because I ordered this bra in a 34E and had to wait for the very slow shipment.
Going down was not the solution, I still feel like it's very wide and then fits in the bottom but I don't fill the lace portion AT ALL so I assume that means this bra overall is just a bad fit for me but it leaves me in the dark about what I should look for! Should I be posting the 34E as a new fit check?
joanna1970 My ABTF measurements are:
Snug Under: 33
Tight Under: 31.5
Standing: 38.5
Laying: 39
Leaning: 40 -
Seems like the bra was still too big. Doesn't mean it's not a shape mismatch too but wrinkly lace and wide wires make me think too big

helpfulI think this bra is meant for someone of average projection and average width. It does sound like it's probably too big overall for you. I love the color btw! I'd size down if you can easily/cheaply and see how the bra looks then.

Thanks for commenting on both of my fit requests joanna1970 The opposite responses are not uncommon and it's totally what is throwing me off! I've been posting in ABTF as well and someone will suggest a bra because I need projection and then I order that, it doesn't fit and someone comments and basically says, "you have zero protection. Try something other brand"
Sometimes it will even be on the same post! I feel like my poor boobs are having a personality crisis.
Would my bust measurements from ABTF be more helpful to figure out what I need?
Thanks!
