Bra fitting help » Gore not tacking, even though cups are too big.

Issue resolved
Does it count as fixing if I gave up on this cut?
Original problem
So, the cups on this are too big, while the cups on a 70G were just barely too small, but more importantly... the gore here is not tacking. I didn't do a great job of photographing it but I tried.
The first half of the photos are with cookies in; the second half are without, to better demonstrate the size difference. While the G was slightly too small even with the cookies out, this is maaaybe okay with them in (but it doesn't feel supportive, so it feels too big anyway), and definitely too big with them out...
but also, the gore. Which in my bra adventure was mentioned as possibly being an issue with...
a.) the gore being too wide for my boobs. Which I can certainly imagine, even though I've veeeery rarely found gores actually uncomfortable and my breasts seem to be average rather than wide or narrow-set.
b.) shallowness right at the gore.
I'm also having more or less the same issue with the CHP Opium, which I will also make a fit request for...? Or just link to......?

helpfulI'm seeing some wrinkling at the wires at the bottom of the cup especially on the right side in the no-cookies pics which tells me that this is more a shape mismatch than a wrong size. This size or the size smaller may well be the correct size for you, but the combination of wrinkling, gaping, and floating gore says that it is the wrong shape for you. The S looks like it carries most of its projection right at the appex. You look like you need most of your projection right at the bottom of the cup at the wire. This is what some bras look like on me when there isn't enough immediate projection - though I only wear unpadded so the gores don't usually get pushed out this much. But, wrinkling at the bottom and gaping at the top is classic signs of not enough immediate projection. Unpadded bras may work better because the flexibility of the fabric means that the whole bra does not sit quite as distortedly as a stiffer model will. Gores never bother me either, but I do have a lot of centre projection that can get in the way.
As to this brand, I like Ewa Michalak SMs best as BMs cut into my armpits with the strap set width issue, but mostly I can't wear Ewas. I'm glad BMs are your friend. I just found an Ava that has massive immediate projection - but not in the correct size yet. Mostly, I wear Gaia, Empreinte, Gorsenia, and Comexim 3hcs only. My Vena fit me very much like this but I didn't post the photos because they were so bad! My Avocado and Tutti Rouge probably give the best photos of me in this situation that weren't too bad to post, but if you are having the same issue with the CHP (which I've never tried because it is padded), you probably have more than - more than average immediate projection. I am still searching for the elusive unicorn bra, but my Gaia, Empreinte, Gorsenia, and Comexim 3hcs are as close as I've come so far. I generally just avoid padded altogether (except Comexim 3hcs - not plungles!) so I can't help much if that is what you need.
As to sizing, the 32:9 looks like it should be your best bet if you had enough room at the bottom of the cup. The CHP looks like you might be able to size down too, except the wrinkling at the bottom indicated that it doesn't give you enough immediate projection either. However, I usually find people need a cup or half a cup bigger in padded than unpadded, so the 10 may be the best you can get. But, as you know, brands and styles vary! Ewa uses 2cm increments not one inch, so you would probably be good in a 32:8 or a 30:9 in Gorsenia (unpadded). Actually, given that you like the BM, I would highly recommend that you try Gorsenia as they are very similar, less expensive, easier to access, come in a wider variety of fabrics, and pretty consistent across models and styles. Comexim is 2cm so whichever Ewa size you pick, possibly plus one cup for their smaller fitting cups. Empreinte uses 3cm increments so an F(6) is about 26 cm and a G(7) is about 29cm. They can be super expensive except through Zazie and KnickersDown on Amazon. But, I think you know Empreinte already?
I'm also glad you found Impimi. I really like them as a company, even though their products don't quite work for me. Thanks for the info on their assymetry alterations, that is great!
The photos are not professional, sure, but they are pretty good!
Keep on truckin'! (is that a particularly small town Canadian thing to say?)

Try Amazon for the Empreintes. If you monitor for when your size is available, I have gotten a couple for less than $100 including shipping. But the timing is inconsistent

helpfulGiven the limited experience I have in your size range, it looks to me like that bra has not enough immediate projection at the wire, so the lower part of the cups is being pushed away from the body, while it's not filled at the top.
This looks just like a classical shape mismatch - the volume of the cups is about right, but its projection doesn't match the places where you need that projection.Experienced users, feel free to disagree
Apart from that, are you just trying to figure out what's wrong with the fit, are you looking for bra recommendations, anything else?

I'm definitely trying to figure out if there is another Ewa cut that would actually work from me apart from the BM, or if I should stick with that.
Thank you!

Have you ever tried the PL? It might have more immediate projection (it definitely does in my size range), but the lower center gore might be an issue here.
-
PL doesn't work on me at all, no :( I fall straight to the center. The Blekitek I own almost sort of works for short periods but it's a bra I have to adjust all day and the gore HURTS when I run (to catch a bus) because of how little support I have in it.
-
I feared that :( PL may have some immediate projection, but it's no good for soft boobs.
I've heard of some people who emailed their fit pictures to Ewa to ask for advice, and she appears to be very knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to that.

I would wear more Empreinte if they weren't pushing $200-300 dollars new in the States, heh! Although apparently my problem with immediately stretching my first one out is that the fitter put me in a 30G instead of a 32F. (Another BTB user explained that she had had that happen too when she was more of a 32; the 30 seemed to fit, so she went with it, but the 32 was a better fit that lasted longer!) Now, at this point I could probably do their 30 and NOT stretch it out, but when I bought that first one I was a very solid 32 band.
But yes, the Melody Seamless lace cup I bought for me great back when I was a bigger cup, and I tried a 30F recently to confirm that it would fit pretty great now. The narrowness of the wires and the projection worked great on me.
For Comexim, I semi recently bought a Jade Demi through Wellfitting (so, essentially a 3HC) that gave me somewhat similar problems to the CHP. I've ordered a 3HC through Jaimie @ BraObsessed with firmer wires, though, because in THAT case my problems disappeared if I pushed in on the gore slightly. (My heavy center fullness distorted the cup shape a little by pulling middle), and similarly I've requested a plunge with a raised gore and firmer wires to see how THAT shakes out. I believe my Comexim size is 70HH/J. (Jaimie calls hers 32GG, so it gets a little confusing >> And I haven't had a REAL good fit yet; the Noir and Small Quail (both plunges) that I kept and still sometimes wear are too small (or just the wrong shape; all the quadding is in the middle!) at "32GG", but they're more comfortable than the too-fragile-and-big problems I've been having with Ewa.)
Gorsenia I haven't tried. :|a I tried the Gaia Annika in a couple of sizes, but the seaming on that particular model gave me in-cup quadding.
Also thank you so much for your detailed breakdown!
