Bra fitting help » Center quadboob, gore not tacking
Comexim » Victoria Half Cup (407) » 65E 30:5
Issue resolved
If I try any more Comexim 2HC's, I'm definitely going up a cup size! May also try 3HC instead.
Original problem
Well, we tried more shallow, but it's not working. I have serious quad boob at the center, and the gore does not tack. When I manually tack the gore, you can see just how bad it is! Would a 3HC be better? Same size to start with? Also, the cups seem awfully tall at the straps, for a half cup, so when I sit down or round my shoulders, I still get gaping up high, although the cup is clearly not too big. But on the other hand, the shape under a t shirt is much better, lol.

helpfulBecause of the way Bardot fit you, I think a 3HC will fit better than this 2HC. In shallow bras, your lower projection may push the top of the cup away from your body which results in what looks like an unfilled cup.
Asking for straps moved in 2cm, has reduced the height at the strap. Also, it shifts some of the cup volume toward the center where you most need it.
Also, Comexim bras are not center projected enough for me. I recall Bardot showed signs of insufficient center projection on you. If the wire pushes out of your IMF in what should be the "right size", you may be experiencing insufficient center projection, too.
In my experience, Gorsenia and Empreinte have better immediate and center projection in their half cups and unlined models. Gorsenia half cups will be a bit wider, and Empreinte will be significantly narrower.

I'd recommend a 30D in Empreinte and if you are not picky about colour, you can get a deal on ebay for 40 to 60 GBP. Gorsenia unlined 200s plus are supposed to be narrower - but as Love4Pollinators has been discovering, that is not always the case. I'd also recomend trying Impimi.

Cordelia half cups (both padded and unlined) have wider wires. The width, in my experience, was nearly identical to the width of the wider unlined balconette.
Gorsenia unlined balconettes (this is what I've pieced together while viewing disparate data sets):
K000-K199 have wider wires.
K200+ have narrower wires.Cheri and Marine are definitely narrow: I've measured one of each. And, Caramel is definitely wide. There is a dramatic difference in measurements, but you won't see it, yet, in Bratabase. Here is a sampling of the measurement differences in the 65H: http://www.bratabase.com/bra/dii52/
If you could wear a 30E, I have two Empreintes that don't fit me that I've been trying to sell for almost one year. ;-) ;-) Sigh.

UK 30E or European/US? Are they listed? I'd be happy to check out the measurements!

helpfulThis cup shape might work for you but you need to find the right size. Looking at the cup depth we can see this is too small (compare it to your lying down breast perimeter). Switching to the other style might work, but you will still want about 8" of cup depth

I think the person I bought it from measured the cup depth bigger than this, but I just can't get that measurement. I already have gaping at the top of this cup when I sit or move my shoulders, so I'm afraid if I sized up, it would just gape all the time. When I lie down, it fits perfectly! Darn gravity!
-
does it still gape when you force the gore to tack? If so you prob want to try the cuts which are not so tall at the outer cup, plus be sure to go up a cup. If it ceases to gape when you force the gore to your sternum, then you just need more depth but might still be able to wear this style

When I force the gore to tack, nothing about the fit at the top changes. It lays mostly flat if I stand still, but gapes a bit as I move around. The only thing that changes is what you can see in the pics with the center quad boob. Not sure if I'm up for custom orders just yet, but perhaps trying one cup size up and lowered cups might work? But if I try a 3HC, I should stick with this cup size since they are deeper by design, probably?
-
I wouldn't try lowered cups unless they can confirm explicitly that this will reduce the height at the OUTSIDE instead of at the center near the gore. Everyone with a lot of projection and center fullness tends to jump on the reduced cup bandwagon and then they are disappointed to find that reduced cup often means less room for them at the gore as the apex of the cup is lower. Not sure about the 3HC vs. half cup conversion, that is something where you'd need to look up measurements!
-
True. I would definitely specify gore height if I try that! But I'm not going there yet.

helpfulI think Curvy Kate Ellace in 30D or 30DD might fit you well. How do you feel about the height of this gore? This particular model seems to have a lower gore than a lot of 2HCs. For instance your Freya starlet has a higher gore. Do you you like that or need more room there, preferring a Plunge?

Plunge styles don't contain my center fullness at all--I just fall out of them in the center. So I do prefer a higher gore, but it's tricky finding enough center projection. I'm reading up on Gorsenia styles, as they are purported to have good center projection. Yes, Ellace is already on my list of things to try, too!

I think this cut is more open on top than an 3HC which seems to curve in a bit more on top, so that's something to consider. Comexim does do raised gores, but asking for customizations is intimidating. If you do choose a 3HC at some point, I think you could happily size up because of the closed cup but I'm not sure. I do think you can take more cup space at the apex though, especially since you filled out 8 inches of the Bardot. I hope you find your perfect bra soon!

helpfulThank you all for your suggestions! The much awaited Cleo order from Amazon has arrived, so I'll open new fitting help for those. Spoiler alert: Hettie doesn't fit

Ugh. I'm grateful Amazon makes trying bras on easy at home. I don't know where I would find my size within a 200 mile radius.

Center fullness is the bane of my existence, currently. Empreinte is out of my price range, unless I find a good deal on a used one, but I've been looking at Gorsenia. Any particular suggestions in that brand? Which model numbers have the wider wires?
