Issue resolved
Decided it was designed to fit this way
Original problem
I think this bra might fit but the centre gore isn't flat, is this because of the style, which is longline ish, or is this a problem? It seems very comfortable when standing (not so much when I slouch).

helpfulIt's not so big of a deal if you are just wearing it once or twice for a special occasion. That being said, for regularly worn bras I do recommend that the gore completely tack. It could be one or more of several things: overall cup too small in volume, too shallow, cups too far apart and gore too wide for your close-together spaced breasts.
To be honest, it is really hard to find a strapless bra that fits. Almost all of them on the market are made for shallow, broad rooted, short rooted, and FOB types because that's just the easiest shape to manufacture.

Unless one has pectus excavatum or pectus carinatum, gores should tack as a rule. I'd recommend trying to determine all of the aspects of your shape (projection, vertical volume distribution, horizontal volume distribution, distance between the breasts) and then trying to find a strapless bra.
It is good that you already know your shape is wide rooted.

Thanks so much for the advice, I'm still trying to get my head around all this! I added to my profile close set thanks to your comments so eventually I'll get there. I'm actually needing to get any type of bra that fits and this is the closest to fitting that I currently own! Been breastfeeding or pregnant for 3.5 years and only just decided it's time I wore something other than my bravado bliss bras that are so worn out! Thanks again.

helpfulIt's because this bra has the plastic hand thing rather than a wire.

OK, that also makes sense to me. I think it's a keeper! But the quest for an everyday bra that fits continues. I appreciate your input!

Strapless really are not for every day. Unless you are really small and self-supporting.

Oh yes I know, I meant I am happy enough with this bra as a strapless option but since I don't have ANY bras that fit me, I am still in search of a proper (bra with straps) bra for everyday.

helpfulI have this bra and I figured the non-tacking gore was part of the effect the bra tries to give. On me it's very "boobs on steroids," and I figure the gore is part of that overall effect. For that particular bra, I'd say as long as you find the band to fit you well, you're not bubbling over the cup's outer edge, and you're comfortable otherwise, you're good. Other than the gore, do you have any other fit issues with it?

Thank you that's really helpful. I wasn't sure if this particular model is designed to not have the gore flat as it has unconventional wires (hand shaped!) ?
