Bra fitting help » In cup quadboob
Cleo » Hettie Balconnet Bra (9011) » 30D 30:4
Holy in-cup quadboob, batman! And lest you think that a size up would do any better, it doesn't. Hopelessly too loose on top. You can go check out the pics of the 30DD as well. Hettie will obviously not work for me, so my question is this: Is Marcie herself worth trying, or will it do the same thing? Is this problem due to the stretch lace, or is the volume truly too small? How do the different sister cuts fit and their materials function? Might any of them do better?

helpfulI had bad in-cup quadding in marcie, I think partly just because its not very high quality materials? but this shape looks not-quite-right for you. You look ot be FOB with a tall . . . idk, i forget how you describe it, but your breast tissue goes very high up your chest, but the majority of the volume of it is below the apex. Have you tried any half cups? I really know nothing in your size range

helpfulMy soft tissue does this, too. Curvy Kate Florence has a non-stretch lace across the top of the cup that quads less frequently. It is one of Curvy Kate's most center projected models and the immediate projection is good in your range, too. CK Daydreamer didn't quad on me either and it has the aforementioned qualities, too.
Here is a list of CKs most center projected models: http://www.bratabase.com/list/glk/
I avoid Cleo because of the quadding and a short list of other reasons.

I get in-cup quad in 4 out of 6 of those CK bras (the other two I haven't tried).

It is interesting how differently they fit each of us. Ellace quads, but the others were ok for me.

helpfulFor those following my other fitting requests, a little more info. The larger size probably does have close to correct cup volume, as when I manually tack the gore, it fits much better. These bands also feel loose enough to possibly try a 28E. I measure less than 27" snug UB, but I was afraid to size down because my size 30 Kali is quite firm and a good fit.
I also just added Juna, and I'm working on Mimi now. I think Juna is no good. Quadboob hidden by the lace, as is typical of her. I don't think it's enough for a cup size up, but I might try it while also sizing down the band. I'm adding Mimi photos now, too. I will add a fitting help for her, because I want to talk about the fit in more detail.

helpfulOh, I'm also curious about what the diagonal wrinkles just under the seam indicate. This happened in both sizes.

I have a feeling it had to do with the cup tension in relationship to the gore. You have taller roots than that bra is intended for, and more centerful, so the straps pull the cup fabric there but the gore isn't tall enough to do its job and pull the fabric the other way: up and to the center. I bet if you had pulled the stretchy fabric up and to the center on one cup the quadding and wrinkling would have been better.

helpfulif you loosen the straps to the longest they could possibly be, does it still in cup quad? forget whether they fall of your shoulders or not, but does extending the strap length make a difference?

I've already packed them back up for shipping, but it was a serious amount of quadding, and I did not have the straps very tight at all.

Yes, FoB and maybe tall, but shallow, roots. Glad to know it's not just me with the in-cup quadboob! I'm trying the Cleo padded half cups as well--adding those bras now, actually.
