Bra fitting help » I like the shape, but I'm not sure it could work for me.
Thirdlove » 24/7 Classic T-shirt Bra » 32D 32D
Issue resolved
It works for now, but I'll try a smaller band if I ever purchase from this company again (which is unlikely). I find them too expensive for what they offer.
Original problem
Is this the wrong style in addition to being too big for me? I posted more info. on the Adventures page

helpfulI can't find the Adventure where you discussed it, what did you say about it?
I think the band is hugely too big so that's going to throw off the fit of everything. For all we know, the cup could actually be just fine in volume and shape. Can you kind of pull it back to mimic the effect of an appropriately snug band?

Wow that's really... unimpressive. lol. Good thing you're sending it back! I would not bother with them again.

helpfulIMO, and what do I know lol, the strap separation, cup separation, and band riding up all point to a too-big band. Is it possible for you to sister size down in this bra (e.g., 30DD)? Otherwise, it seems to give you good coverage and fit your shape well. Good luck

wendybien - it's at this link: http://www.bratabase.com/bra/diiva/
If I pull back the band so it's tight enough the cups are too distorted, especially because of the center gore being so wide. The cups themselves, without the band, seem to be a decent fit, but the fit is manipulated by the long band.
I should have been suspicious of the way Third Love "calculates" their "perfect fit". They asked me the size of my best fitting bra, right now. Then they ask the brand. I wrote, 32D Aerie. The answer calculated for me was "You are a 32D and Side Set." (Like I wasn't aware of that?"For your size and shape we recommend the 24/7 Classic T-Shirt Bra".
I just don't get Third Love's claim that their "Fit Finder" is different from any others when it comes to sizing. The size they sent me was the size I told them I wear. They sent me a T-Shirt bra because I said I don't like push-up bras. As it turns out, their "t-Shirt bra is considered "best for" every breast shape example they provide. It reminds me of the Jockey "revolutionary" bra size changer from a couple of years ago. "What size bra do you wear?" "32D" "Oh that means in JOCKEY your CUSTOMIZED bra size is 32/04." (The 04 replaces the "D".) This is not new, it's exactly the same thing except it uses a number for their standardized cups instead of a letter.
Ridiculous.
