Issue resolved
Mostly a good fit!
Original problem
I *think* this bra mostly fits me. I get very slight wrinkling under the cups and am not quite as lifted as I would prefer but I'm happy overall. The in-cup quadding seems to be a result of the upper, single-layer fabric not being as supportive of my soft tissue as the lower, double-layer of fabric.
It does rub my tail of spence but I think I'm just going to have to get used to that.

helpfulAre you in the bottom of the cup? From my perspective, this may not be immediately projected enough for you and that may be why it is pushing out. And, that would also explain the lack of lift. Sigh.
Gorsenia is more immediately projected, but you'll need a K200+ model for the shorter gore. Otherwise, the gore will be as tall as Panache/Cleo. Cringe.
How does this bra feel after a few hours of wear?

I really really wish there was more data available on the Gorsenia bras!
-
Me, too. I have purchased 12 Gorsenia to add data, but it still looks like a data desert. And, the data is confounded as there are two unlined balcony patterns that show as one here. You'll want the K200+ that is missing the adjective "big."
-
Comexim unlined have great immediate projection, but less center projection and a data desert. I have read great reviews about Freya, but I know so little about Freya and its myriad of unlined models, I am no help. All I can say is one pattern fits me well and the others were awful fits.

I am new here and learning a lot - I thought this looked great on you. Can someone explain immediate projection? I get the projection part, but not the use of immediate - thanks for the assistance.
-
:-) :-)
Immediate projection: space at the wire, necessary for women with breasts that just forward at the base like a shelf
Center projection: space near the gore wires, necessary for center-full and close-set breasts
Apex projection: space in the cup, usually near mid-cup or toward cup top edge, "point of bust," more required for breasts that project forward , less required for breasts that are held closer to the chest
-
This is so difficult - I have no idea if I am immediate, apex, center, or defect. lol
I thought I figured out I was FOB and that was an accomplishment! Thanks for your help - Can you tell from my pic?

I'll message you, Paula50 :-)

helpfulI agree its an OK fit but not a great fit. It would be nice to see a side view of the bra. It looks like the gore may actually be too narrow for your breasts? It looks like there is empty room between your breasts and the gore. It could be because the bra is too wide so your breasts are just drifting to the sides, or it coudl be that you just have very wide-set breasts, its hard to see.
You should be able to get more lift when you find bras that fit even better, but its definitely a pretty good fit - probably a good size but not perfect shape. In my bra adventure, I got closer and closer, but each of the 'almost' bras were still a big step up from what i'd had before

The gore is definitely not too narrow. my breast tissue is even pushing the gore out slightly on my bigger side.
I have several more pictures but was unable to load them earlier.
-
I have the same appearance with my bras very often, most of the gore is narrower than the space between my breasts but if the cup is not ample enough in depth to contain the inner upper quadrant of the boobs, it sometimes still doesn't tack. Gore being too narrow is not normally a problem anyway so I would not worry about it. If it's comfortable despite the slightly "soft" tack it should be workable.
-
I've come to realize that you were partially right about the gore. I've realized that my roots are splayed, so they're very close at the top but farther apart at the bottom. So I am getting a little bit of extra room in the cup near the bottom of the gore, but not enough really at the top.

helpfulIt may sound silly, but does the in-cup quading respond to loosening the straps all the way out?
Updated on February 28, 2017 Flag this
-
I checked that because I noticed the strap meets the cup right at the top of that seam but it didn't change anything.
I think it's because my upper breast tissue is so soft and just wants to pour out of everything.
A cup size smaller was too small but didn't have the in-cup quadding. So I'm not sure if it's just the way this specific bra was made, or what. Fortunately, it's even less obvious under shirts, so I'm going to deal with it.
-
fair enough. it looks good otherwise and if it feels good, go with it. The main problem I had with Florence was the strap set width. If you like this, you might try Flirtelle Ellie, Anneliese, or Peacock which are very similar.

helpfulThis is a good size for you. When I think about your other fit requests, it's pretty amazing how much better this fits. How is the comfort?
What's lovely is, now that you know this is good, you can search for bras with similar measurements which might give you more lift.

The comfort is just ok. Not having any support for my upper breast means I kind of feel like a cup of water that is threatening to slosh out at any minute.
Any suggestions for bras that could give more lift? Searching by measurements seems to give me more bras with reviews about the lack of lift. I'm a little concerned that my breasts are just too deflated to lift anymore.

Could you go a quarter of an inch narrower wires with a slightly higher gore and sides? If so, the Ewa Michalak SF cut in 75H might be perfect for you. It does give really excellent uplift I hear.
-
CK bras aren't the most uplifted but they have great projection and are pretty narrow and short for U.K. bras. Generally you have to go Polish to get narrower and uplift with the same projection.
-
I could definitely go narrower on the wires. Higher gore and sides would be annoying but probably worth it for more lift.
-
If you're interested in trying one now and you live in the US, Levana bratique ships in the US and accepts returns. They have a 75H in stock in beige. They are a great company with good customer service. The bras cost a bit more than ordering from EM but you get them much quicker and returns are in the US so it's easier.
-
Would you go with a 75? I just noticed that this bra in a 32, I can comfortably fasten it on the tightest hook.
-
Oh! Well in that case, definitely a 70. And I would suggest sizing up, so HH. Which, unfortunately, Levana doesn't carry in stock, and neither do other US/CA sellers. So you might as well order from Ewa.

helpfulDo any of y'all know how the bands usually run on these? I can comfortably fasten this on the tightest hook so I'm not sure if I would be better in a 30 band or if this style tends to be more stretchy.

I do think Florence tends to run stretchy.
-
For me, 30" Curvy Kate unlined bras consistently fit: the bands are relatively consistent. Try a 30--you could add an extender. And, the lift may improve in a tighter band. In a 32, there is no lift for me, and it begs the question, "Why do I bother with a bra?"
However, if you order Ewa Michalak or Comexim, some models have wide variation. Check the stretched band data for individual bras as well as the notes for each model on Ewa Michalak's website. You could also try Aisha at Zathiya: she is in the U.S. and provides excellent customer service. Levana, too, has excellent service and rapid shipping because Levana has the most in-stock Ewa Michalak in the states. Easy returns, too!

Not quite enough projection. I think I just need a shelf to plop my boobs on.
It's not comfortable but it's not bad. It's wearable. Little things like the tag in back and the knot behind the charm in the gore are irritating me but I'm hopeful they'll soften in time. The side wires irritate me and I really wish they were a little narrower.
