Bra fitting help » Wrinkling and too wide: wrong shape?

Issue resolved
I'll try the 30F in the future, but I'll probably try to scout out some of these suggestions first. Thanks!
Original problem
So, right off the bat, you can tell there's quite a bit of wrinkling on the sides of the cup, as well as in the lace panel. The gore feels too tall and sometimes pokes me when I move.
The straps are wide, to the point where I have to keep pulling them inward if I want to keep them on, even after adjusting the straps.
Also, the wire seems a bit wide... but otherwise, I feel like I fill the bottom OK for the most part.
I might be wrong on this: I figured that I was short-rooted, but also slightly FOT to even, based on the lean-over test. I'm also particularly short!
I'm confused as to where to go from here. Should I try the Cleo Lucy instead?

helpfulYou have extra space at the top, the sides and even the base (if you look closely at the profile pics). You are probably 1-2 cups above the optimal size for you in this specific bra. I'd try the 30F at least and possibly even 30E before giving up on the Marcie, because the issues you're having with the wires could easily be due to the fact the cups are too big for your body (meaning these wires are just too wide and long--in a smaller cup size, they will be shorter and narrower).

helpfulThe Cleo Marcie is 'supposed' to fit FOT people better, but the 30F also works well for my short roots (and I'm even ... maybe slightly FOB).
I actually tried on a black 28G today because I get a bit of in-cup quadding, and I found that even though most of the cup fit, the upper lace was more open, so I wonder if it has something to do with their scaling above 'F' cups, which makes them more FOT in larger sizes? From your side profile picture, it looks to me like you have short roots and an 'even' balance of top/bottom, but it's a little hard to tell from your pictures. You may want to post one or two more as your hand is blocking some of the discerning fit view
Also, your laying breast perimeter is quite different than your horizontal perimeter. The 30F has quite a bit of depth (like 9.8-10"), so you could also try one size down and compare? I have very similar measurements as you do, and 30F mostly works for me apart from the in cup quadding. Sorry can't offer much advice on the Lucy. Best of luck!

Yes - that added picture is helpful to see what's going on. Thanks...And yeah.. it seems like the 30FF should work on you, but maybe it's just too open on top? I have a feeling that the Marcie wants a breast shape that is taller/fuller in the upper chest portion. It is possible for you to have short roots and be more full on top, but the short roots part of the equation probably just isn't working in this size/bra. If it ever pops up on bratabase in a 30F you could always try it (though I've read that the pink colourway runs smaller - which may be too small). Other short root friendly cleo bras (that I know of) are the Cleo Hettie, Cleo Blake, Cleo Minnie.

helpfulWhen you mention you are "particularly short" and if this refers to petite stature, I'd steer you away from Cleo/Panache to Curvy Kate. Their new cuts (Ellace, Florence, Madagascar, Belle, and Daydreamer) are very friendly to petite wearers. The wings are shorter, gores shorter, cup height shorter, wires softer, .... I like them so much better than Cleo/Panache for my short-waisted, petite frame. Best wishes for a fantastic fit soon -

Yup, I'm... not all that tall :') Thanks for the recommendation, I'll definitely look at CK.
Though... I don't know if you'd have any insight, but would it be wiser to try a 30F in CK?

Just thought I'd chime in here - they are quite deep in the cup! In my opinion, a 30F would be a good place to start. I tried the dreamcatcher, princess, and gia in 30F and they were all quite deep for 30F. Ellace looks like it gives a nice shape, but I haven't tried it.

Indeed, some are quite deep. Cascade is not a good choice for projected breasts as it is more shallow both near the wire and at the apex. Wilderness1 shared great advice, 30F is a good place to start. :-)
Also, the band lengths are relatively consistent in the CK brand. If you like the 30", you can safely order that band throughout the range. Ellace has a fantastic elastic trim around the bottom of the band that provides incredible support. However, if you don't want incredible support, Florence, Wild Cat, Daydreamer, or Belle may be a better starting point. Ellace also has stretch lace across the top which the other models do not: Ellace is a bit more forgiving of different root heights.

helpfulFor me, Marcie ran a cup size big and its VERY FOT friendly - as in, not very good for ppl who are not. also, I had some loose lace on top but it seemed to settle down after a wash. Maybe not that much tho. and i'm wondering if the side wrinkling is because you've over-tightened the straps to make up for a too-big cup?

I loosened the straps and it's still wrinkling a lot. Maybe it's just not the right size?
-
probably. or just the wrong shape

helpfulIf you down size and the straps are still too far apart, you might try the sister size in 28 with an extender. Extenders pust the back of the straps further apart, but when the band size drops, the straps are usually set a little closer together. Plus, you measure between 28 and 30 and if you are comfortable with a tighter band, it might work for you.
As for the Lucy, I found it a bit droopier than the Marcie, but it is definitely more closed on top. My Marcie is loose in the lace and the Lucy of the same size cuts a touch.

I uploaded another picture; I hope that's the angle you were talking about!
Truthfully, I'm not sure I did my measurements properly... :') I'll consider trying it a size down (at some point)?
