Bra fitting help » Wide wires, sits below IMF - assistance?
Chantelle » C Magnifique Unlined Underwire Bra (1891) » 85G 38:7
Issue resolved
Now know its a minimizer and spreads tissue out across chest. Will look for a better fit bra.
Original problem
Doesn't sit on my IMF and I think the wires are too wide. Otherwise its a good fit, no quadboob, gores are flat, straps are secure. I hooked the band on the second loosest row (of 4 rows) and it doesn't feel too tight. Do worry that it will stretch out though.

helpfulI actually own one of these. Because it's marketed as a minimizer, it relies on a cup structure that is deliberately made too shallow and wide-wired in order to help compress the bust and spread the breast tissue over a larger area. So, it's basically how it's meant to fit. Personally I find it a decent alternative to a sports bra because of the compression. But, if you want something that fits nicely in the IMF and more or less fits your natural shape this won't be it. It's a boob-smushage device!

yes, it's definitely a bra that requires enough real estate in order to be comfortable! I would caution anyone with a petite torso or with high-set breasts that it may just be a case of too much wire.

helpfulSo, i'm confused by your rib cage measurements. Loose should be the biggest, but its the smallest, and tight should be the smallest. are they the right numbers but in the wrong places?
anyways, time to try more brands! Personally, I buy bras mostly off of amazon, because some have free returns. you can do a search on your size and 'bra' and find all sorts of things

Ah ha, yes! I've swapped the measurements over. I'm in Canada so I'll look into Amazon for some narrow wired low gore types.

helpfulYou could try Brastop - they ship to Canada for free on purchases over 100GBP - I can usually get three to six bras to try for this and they pay shipping on exchanges for size. I essentially got to try and return 7 bras the last time for a total of thirty CAD return shipping + the many hours of shopping, anticipating, trying on, deciding, and posting - which I consider entertainment value. Plus, they stock Cleo, Panache, Freya, Curvy Kate, Sculptresse, Fantasie, Flirtelle, Elomi, and all the popular British available brands that carry your size range. I'd definitely suggest looking at Cleo, Curvy Kate, and Freya as they tend to be on the narrower side of averge wire width, and Cleo Marcie (and similar cuts) and CK Portia, Ellace, Daydreamer, and Flirtelle Ellie, Peacock, and Annaliese all give considerable space at the underwire (immediate projection) which would help allow the wires to sit in your IMF. The CK and their sister brand Flirtelles usually fit one cup small, so cup up. If you are more adventurous, Other Eden and Mio Destino on Amazon are UK outlets for European (Polish) lines and they both provide a Canadian return address which is cheeper and very convenient.

Ahh that makes so much sense- I'm pretty narrow, fully projected and quite a shorty so the wires are a bit high on my underarms as well.
