Bra fitting help » Wrong cup size or is it the wrong style?
Fantasie » Francesca Longline Bra (9193) » 32FF 32:8
Okay so I'm not quite sure if the cup is too small or not and if it is I was wondering if I could have any size suggestions? I thought that Fantasie bra's ran smaller cup wise but I still ordered the size that I thought I should try but it seems as if it might actually be a tad small cup wise.

helpfulYes it is too shallow for you, at least in this size. In one size up you might be able to make it work.
I should add, though, that you're likely to have some fit problems induced by the size of the band. At 27" underbust you would have to alter it just to get the bra to stay put, in most cases, but even then, since it is designed for a person who is wider and bigger than you in the torso, that might also create some fit issues.

helpfulSo, yeah, any reason you are wearing a 32? Some people need to wear looser bands for various reasons, but have you tried a 30? or even a 28? With sister sizing, cup volume of a band down and a cup up is usually about the same, but sometimes the cups are narrower, the straps are set closer, and the coverage might change too. As to cup size, how tight are your straps? The centre gore not tacking (laying flat) generally indicates that the cup is too small, but the side escape and quading might lessen if the straps are lengthened all the way out, especially if you are fairly low set. More importantly, if these wires are painful on the outside, you must have wide roots. If you mean that they create bulges in tissue and poke but don't cause deep, major ache, then you probably are not in one cup too small, but two! If you are wearing 32s because the wires really hurt in smaller band sizes, it is probably root width and you could try 28s in Panache or Curvy Kate to get wider cups. If you have just never found 28 bands, and you don't have that deep ache, I really think you are just in way too small cups. Unless you have a reason for wearing a loose band, I'd suggest going down one or even two band sizes. The fact that this longline is rolled up in a 32 would suggest that a 28 would not fit the shape of your ribcage. Is there a reason you want a longline? Most people find longlines more supportive if they have to wear a band size too big for them (because they need a sub-28 and no one makes them), but most ribcages are not a made in a congenial shape for longlines generally. If you think you have wide roots, may I suggest a 30GG in this bra or a Freya Idol 28H. If you do not have deep pain on the outside in this bra, just bulging and poking, I would suggest a 30H in this bra or a Freya, Cleo, Panache, or Curvy Kate in 28HH. Fantasie and Freya are made by the same company and fit somewhat similarly. Cleo and Panache are also made by the same company and Cleos tend to be narrower and Panaches tend to be wider, but that is a generalization. Look at reviews here to see what the tendancy of each model is or post a question as an adventure. Unless your roots are unusually wide, I think you have just been wearing bras that are too big in the band and too small in the cups for long enough that some of your breast tissue has had to "migrate" to find room for itself. As such, it will need encouragement to come back to place and that will take at least six months of wearing the correct size. Do some research on tissue migration and here is a handy blog on terminology. Good luck with the search and keep at it!

helpfulWell, there's only one other review of this bra on this site, and they also said it didnt seem to run big like other Fantasies - but it looks too shallow for you as well as too small. It looks like you have empty space at the bottom where the cup is too shallow (tho its hard to see clearly).
If you really like it, i'd say its worth trying one size up, but i suspect it might still be a shape problem

helpfulIt's hard to tell in these pictures, but it looks to me like the cup is too wide for you. You might get a better fit in something a bit more narrow. Do the wires follow your inframmamary fold (you can tell where the line is when you take off the bra)?

helpfulI would think that you need a 28 band instead of the 32. Are the wires sitting in your inframammary fold? It looks like they are pushed down on to your chest so that makes me think there isn't enough space in the cup for your volume and the breasts are pushing it down. The wires look like they are too wide for you too, so you might get a better fit in something a bit more narrow with a little more projection.
