Issue resolved
Going to try Freya Active and Enell.
Original problem
This bra doesn't come in my size, so I sister sized it twice. The unstretched band is the size of my rib cage. The center gore is too wide and starts to hurt after a while, and the wires on the side start off fine but start to irritate me after moving around. I also feel like I can't fit my boobs into the bottom of the cups and the wires are just sitting on my rib cage. The tops of the cups are empty but going down a size causes the top to cut into the shallow tissue (I have a 32H in the wireless). Can I take the wires out of this bra, or should I give up and try another brand? Sports bras seem hard to come by in small band/large cup sizes.

helpfulPanache sports bras are Tall. Although I'm not knowledgeable about your size range, a custom Enell may be your best bet. They are definitely compression, but it could be made to accommodate your measurements.

I took the wires out of a wired Panache sport, and the fit was worse than that of the wireless version in the same size, I wouldn't really recommend it. Maybe you could try it in a size smaller? There are differences between the wired and the wireless one, and I found that the wireless one is actually more closed on top.

JulieCS That's interesting. I checked and they do not make a 30HH so I guess I'm out of luck.

helpfulWith your breast sensitivity issues I don't think you are going to be able to troubleshoot this unfortunately. Even encapsulation sports bras rely on a "firm hold" type of fit in order to keep the breasts secure (so there is a bit of compression going on) and since your personal requirement for comfort is to select a technically over-deep cup volume that leaves the breasts free of any compression, you are working against that principle...
The only approach I can think of would be to try one of the Freya Active models because they are known to be super super deep at the apex (in other words, yes, pointy) so that they are liable to provide some firm support WITHOUT compressing your tissue exactly where it hurts i.e. they allow it to project out like a retro pointy bra. I know it might not be the most contemporary look but I assume the sports bra is for utilitarian purposes!Updated on September 11, 2017 Flag this

All I care about right now is the top not cutting into my shallow tissue. Freya hasn't worked for me in the past with their regular bras. The bands were too big/stretchy and the cups were cut weird. Is the sport model like this too?

Their Active (sports) line is a completely different deal, hence the different shape. Some are nonwired some are wired... take a look at the reviews and photos and see what you think. Not sure abt bands

helpfulEdit: You already have the wireless, so I don't need to suggest it
If you are looking for a great workout bra, I always liked the Shock Absorber bras most (especially the D+ max and the Ultimate Run). They are the only ones I use on longer workouts!
Be aware that Shock Absorber has a seriously tight band though, I always get it a size larger.Updated on September 11, 2017 Flag this

helpfulHi, have you considered a 30H? It seems to me we have almost exactly the same measurments, and wear the same size in CK Daydreamer and Cherrie, which are supposed to be basicaly the same model... The 30H Wired Panache Sport size fits me really well (in the black colourway ) and even accomodates my upper and central fullness.

I wear a 28JJ in a regular bra. I don't take well to compression. I'd try it but I thought the sports bra only ran about a cup size too large.

So did I - but it worked for me. I didn' t hope it would. When I tried a 34G (technicky the same cup size), it was too small... perhaps it only runs so big in the cups in certain band sizes? Do you know the blogger Weirdly Shaped? She did a review of this bra a couple of years ago: http://www.weirdlyshaped.com/2014/01/panache-sports-bra-1.html
It worked for her as well. -
Of course, it might still be too separate for you :-(

I've been trying to avoid custom... as a stopgap, can I take the wires out of this or will it affect the fit more negatively?
