Issue resolved
I find that the Polish bras have a really good fit. I need a very large cup size though and still get a bit of quad boob, but also a lot of lift. I also like Change bras, they seem to have almost the same cup sizing as the Polish bras.
Original problem
I love this bra and in general plunge bras. In the photo I just put it on and it fits well, but after a bit of wear I get quadboob... In all plunge bras. If I choose a larger cup size, I get too much room where the strap is attached and under the arms - and still quad boob.
If I try balcony bras, I can't get the gore to tack, as my boobs are very close set. Full cups doesn't give a nice shape, I like the up front, round, uplifted shape.
I tried the Elomi Bijou which fits perfectly, no quad boob, but it's not up front, it gives a wide look, too east/west.
I can't use the Freya Deco bra, can't get it in a large enough cup size, I love the uplift but the cups are too small (massive quad boob).
I tried Panache Tango and loved the fit - except for the problem I have with all Panache bras, they come up much too high under the arms.
Do you have any suggestions for which bras I should try?

helpfulYeah, thats not quadding, you are falling out of it, which is not quite the same thing. With very soft boobs, its a common thing in plunges, which is why I dont wear them. However, you might want to try an Ewa Michalak PL. i have one and I still fall out a little, but maybe nto quite as bad as what you are indicating. Its narrow and not too tall i think - i actually sometimes wish my ewa wires were slightly taller

helpfulThis looks like it is riding up at the back, meaning the front of the bra may be creeping down under the weight of your breasts (and causing quadboob after a while as the cup edges aren't sitting at the same level on the breast). A well-fitted band should sit perfectly horizontal, i.e. if you look at yourself in profile it should not be sitting diagonally/at an angle, and should NOT creep up the back. Going by your body measurements, I would not normally suggest a 36 for you--34 at most.
There is a small chance that this bra runs tight and that the band could sit properly if you stopped overtightening the straps (something many women do out of habit, and which can also cause quadding because it pulls the whole cup upward too tightly). I see a big indent in your shoulders, so it's possible this is what's happening--what happens if you loosen the straps, readjust everything, and then wear the bra for a while? Is the bra still riding up at the back?
If loosening the straps does not help the band stay put, you will know it's too big and a 34HH may eliminate this problem for you--it's worth a try.

Hi :-)
Thanks for your reply :-)
Actually the band is too loose, I've lost weight and if I bought it now, It should definitely be a 34HH instead of a 36H. I never normally wear bras that ride up the back.
If I loosen the straps the quad boob gets worse. They aren't very tight, I probably just have soft fat on my shoulders :-D I think when it's like this, it holds them in a bit more tight, so they don't bulge out as much.
If I loosen the straps, my boobs looks like mushy oranges in two hammocks with a lot of empty space where the straps are attached :-)
But I will try ordering it in 34HH, because I really love this bra apart from the quad boob thing. And I do have very soft tissue, so maybe I just have to accept that I will always have some quad unless I choose a full cup. -
Nononono, you do NOT have fat shoulders, that is not what's happening lol! When a band is much too loose, the weight of the BREASTS pulls down on the whole front of the bra; this pulls forward on the straps; it makes the straps dig into you; and it makes the back ride up.
And since the cups are riding downwards at the front that displaces the cup edge to the lower, fuller part of your boobs which collapse into the middle.
Basically get a tighter band and I think you have a pretty good chance of solving the problem! My boobs are so soft, they are practically liquid, and I can wear plunges without quadding. You just have to get everything else secured and enough containment at the center, which is possible even with a deep plunge. If this one doesn't work, you should try cups that are deeper near the gore i.e. on the inner half of the cup. It's lack of depth that makes cups cut in on larger cup size people, usually. -
I'm sure you are right. I need a plunge with more room near the center, which this one doesn't have. Do you have any experience with good ones that work for you?

I'm currently in a very different size range unfortunately, so the ones I've recently found will not necessarily fit the same, but an initial search by measurements suggests you might look at the NON molded (unpadded/unlined) Elomi plunges, and as another poster said, Polish bras offer many more choices in plunge and demi for larger cup sizes compared to UK/US brands. My current plunges are main collection Lejaby, which fits very deep. You might look at their larger-cup line Elixir to see if there are any true plunges that might work! In the past couple years they've started making almost all their cuts (even ones called balconnet or full cup) very low neckline/low gore, so that's a bit confusing, but great if that is what you prefer. When larger I used to wear a ton of Empreinte but they have few real deep plunges, and they are more expensive.

I tried some Polish bras, Gaia, and they were quite great, but the cup was too small. I loved the fit. I don't have a wide upper body, so I need the brash to push things towards the centre, and they do that, I guess partly because the wire isn't very wide. I just ordered two bras, one in one cup size larger and one in two cup sizes larger.
I have a couple of Elomi unpaddede plunges, but the shape gets too east/west and also a bit like an upside down 7. Not rounded or centered. The wires Elomi uses are a bit too wide for me. Apart from that, I like a lot of Elomi bras, but they're not perfect. The Bijou is the closest I've come in the Elomi range.
Now I look forward to receiving the Gaia bras. They are quite tight in the band, I've tried both 34 and 36, and 34 I can't even close without an extender.
I will post an update when they arrive :-) -
If you can't get a good fit in wide wires then that is the reason that your boobs are fighting a lot of these cups. The designer assumed the apex of the wearer's boob would be further out to the sides than yours is, and since you're closer to the midline of your body, the boobs fall out in the middle. I think Polish bras will be a good solution!

If you don't mind altering your bra, I take off the button on my Satine's gore. I push the centre underwires together to narrow the gore and then I sew it there. This will shorten your band and give you more room at the centre too!! Just a thought. I am a different size but I do this to all my Satine bras to give more room at the center. Lovely colour bra!!
-
Thanks Denise, that's good advice :-) I think I might try doing that. They fit quite bad so there's no risk in trying to alter them. I could shorten the band a bit in the back too!
-
Sjenja I wish Bravissimo would narrow the gores on their Satine plunges! They are beautiful bras and comfortable. If you can get it to fit to how you want it and how you feel comfortable, I actually think it looks quite nice on you!!

I totally agree. They are so comfortable with the cottonish lining and so pretty. I'll definitely give it a try!

helpfulI have close set breasts, too, which is definitely a fit issue of its own. Panache bras and Polish bras tack the best for me and while I used to love my Freya bras they were a bit wide in the wire and the center gore and never tacked. But they gave that nice front and center projection!!
I'm not sure if you can get the Panache Cleo bras in your size. The Cleo Blake is good for narrow roots and gives a nice forward projection. I had the Cleo Marcie as well, but for some reason, I found the Blake to be more comfortable. If I laid down in the Cleo Marcie (and sometimes with the Blake), the wires would poke a bit because the tack was so...exact.
I recently bought the @Elomi Matilda, which does come in H+ sizes and has much better front projection than other Elomi bras. It is a plunge style. I loved the Bijou, too, though I hear you on the east-west separation that comes with most Elomi styles. The band on the Matilda runs large, so if you can try it on in the store or order from a place that has returns, that might be best. I got mine in my new size 38H, but the band is like a 40 band, so I will eventually have to take it in. I'm wearing it on a tighter hook right now and that works, but I know the bra won't last as long if I don't take it in at some point. Oh, and the Elomi Matilda fully tacks like a Panache bra!

Thanks :-) I will look for the Elomi Matilda, it sounds good!
I'm not too fond of Panache, they give a really great shape and life (I had a Tango plunge bra with perfect fit), but all the models I've tried come up too high under the arms and that's really annoying.
I like the Polish Gaia bra, but it has taken me a while to find the right size, as I was surprised about how big a cup size I needed in that brand. The gore is tight in most of the models I've tried, but the 36K fits okay.
I've also triend some bras from Change, they have a good fit too, the band size is quite different from model to model, but in those I'm a 34-36 J-K...

I will have to look into that. The only Polish bras I've tried is Gaia. Nice narrow wires.
