Bra fitting help » Why do bras keep sliding down my abdomin & out my IMF? (Short-waisted)
Panache » Tango Ii Balconnet Bra (3251) » 32F 32:7
Lost 65 lbs! Total shape change after BMI >25; no longer FOT. Can’t get to my normal fitter. Shape: short-waisted, round, pendulous, functionally short roots. Still contemplating width. This bra is typical to my experiences w bras recommended by this site: bras appear to fit right after scoop/swoop, but entire band slides down until straps stop them. I took these photos after walking around for a few min. I can’t tell if this is a shape problem or wires are too high. I also can’t tell if those back rolls are migrated breast tissue or extra skin from weight loss. Those broken capillaries under my side band I guess means I’ve been wearing bands that are too tight for a long time.
For this particular bra, I’m below my imf by ~1/2” and I can’t tell if the wires are too high or too wide/narrow for me. Some of that has got to be skin, right? The cups fit when in my imf but now there’s wrinkling on the bottom and space above the center seam on top. I believe the top wrinkling is due to strap tention. The straps are the only thing that stops this bra from sliding further.
I could really use some help diagnosing the correct issues w this bra so I know how to procede. Thanks!!

helpfulThe outer half of the wire/wing of the bra is too tall for you. When you move around during the day, the wires will therefore gradually move southwards until the tip of the wire is low enough that it ceases to be pushed down (as it will inevitably be in the course of normal activity). Look for bras with wings that are 3" tall maximum!
I would not bother going up or down the size scale with the Tango as you mention soooo many fit problems despite being roughly in the correct cup volume. Truly, you can do better!
I think that your band is riding up in the back either due to unusual compressibility (possible, with loose skin) or because you are overtightening straps to prevent downward band creep. This is why you get so-called "back fat" as it is sitting higher up where everyone has more flesh. THe back of the band is either riding up because you need a smaller one (somewhat unlikely) or being forcibly hoisted up by overtight straps (more likely IMO). If you can find a bra with nice low wings that isn't being pushed down, you will be able to wear the straps looser and tbe back will hopefully stay put!
Do you exercise a fair amount, like many people who have actively pursued weight loss? If so, you likely have a certain amount of muscle tissue that is not far from the bra wing/strap area, and unlike skin, fat or axillary breast tissue, muscle has very little "give" and will not only push back against intruding wires, but will also become very tender and painful if poked! Axillary breast tissue is less firm but also should not be poked or pinched at all--very bad for you, not to mention painful. So, you may want to feel around under your arm a little to get familiar with that area before you decide how high a wing you want or how wide-set a strap you can tolerate. Follow your body's cues

You're welcome! Searching by measurements here on Bratabase can also help you locate things to try which have a shorter wire. I promise not all are shallow! Empreinte is one of the deepest fitting brands around and in the optimal size usually does not have "too much wire" for the wearer.

LetsGoBlue01 Breakout Bras sells Comexim online in stock with free shipping and returns. Levana Bratique sells Ewa Michalak online with free returns. Something to think about.
@wendybien if I could have read your description of tall wires and strap overtigtening 2 years ago...

Curvy Kate has quite short wings and wires and most of their balconette bras in the past 2-3 years are nicely projected as well. Might be worth looking at.

lcl0706 CK is more projected nowadays and their wings aren't bad but LetsGoBlue01 could easily need a 32FF in most currently sold models and this puts her in the size range where wings are over 3" tall.. so i would try them, but only from a retailer that allows easy returns and exchanges. They tend to be a little closed at the cup edge which can be iffy for projected boobs with very soft tissue --I had problems with their cups even when I was still nursing and much firmer than my current, near-liquid state ;-) A true full cup--just not the Tango because aaagh!-- is often the best no-brainer fit for us in the soft projected crowd even if it can be a tad hard to find with very low wings. I would also search by measurements!

helpfulI have pendulous breasts and have the same issue. I found out that this happens with omega shaped breasts. Research a bit about it and search about it in bratabase as well.

You may be right, honeybunny. I settled on this bra and Cleo Marcie, which were the two I found that had enough cup depth but not a huge amount of empty space in the top, even though they both slide downwards. I also had a lot of issue determining where my breasts end and my abdomen begins, since it changes depending on which direction they are facing. It's a more complicated answer than I wanted, but it's probably the correct one. I'll look at it more this weekend. Thanks!! :D

helpfulI'm going to admit that i didn't thoroughly read the other responses, but another reason bands slide down the body is because they are too small. Just food for thought.

I completely agree with you wendybien - those wires/band are too tall! Unfortunately, I could not find a bra with shorter wires/band and still have enough projection in the cups. I've also noticed the armpit end of the wires are almost parallel to my side, so they *really* hurt over time; it's like they were engineered to lay flat on the front of my ribs, not the side.
I may have to bite the proverbial bullet and take a serious look at the narrower, more projected Polish bras. So far I've stuck with whatever Amazon USA has to offer with Prime shipping and free returns...
Thank you so much for your in-depth analysis!
