Bra fitting help » Gaps, wrinkling, poking wires, too narrow band
Panache » Tango Ii Balconnet Bra (3251) » 42G 42:9
Issue resolved
Sized down a cup
Original problem
Band: The band feels a little tight compared to my previous bras, but I’ve been wearing bands that are significantly too large, so this is probably just me learning to adjust to proper sizes.
Wires: Width of the wires surround my breast tissue well, but they’re tall so they’re poking into my armpit pretty significantly.
Gore: Lies mostly flat against sternum – too wide though so the wires try to overlap on each other.
Comfort: I would prefer a wider band in the back with at least 3 hooks

helpfulThis one is definitely too large. If you like this bra, try one cup size down. An extender can help if the band is only a little snug, but if it is much too tight that's not normal or something to "get used to." Being aware it's there is one thing--being uncomfortable is another!
However, be sure to loosen the straps and adjust the back to a position horizontal to the floor before you assess band tightness. Most people who've been wearing a too-large band have acquired the lifelong habit of overtightening straps to get enough uplift (as it's the only way to get support with a loose band) and this can pull the back of a better-fitting bra too high, where your back is wider, creating the impression it is too small when in fact it is OK if worn at the proper level.Updated on December 30, 2017 Flag this

helpfulI'm wondering if you measured your breast perimeters correctly? With a cup depth of 13.8 and breast perimeter of 17, the bra should be way too small.
I recently started wearing the tango - at least in my size (32JJ), it definitely runs big in the cup
If a bra is poking your armpit, try to get at least one pic with your arms out of the way so we can see that.

dbmamaz Additional photos uploaded to get a better view, as you suggested. Thank you!

Looking at the wrinkles at the bottom, I'm again wondering if the wires are too narrow. Not sure what runs wide - like, curvy kate princess and osme of those older ones run wide

helpfulI have read over and over that the Tango Li has a very odd shape. The very first thing I noticed when looking at your pictures was that it looks like your wearing the bra too low on your torso instead if having the wires in your IMF. I have noticed that when women whom start wearing their new, better fitting size they tend to wear their bras lower down on their torso. Just like with the straps, women get this habit do their breast can sit in the most projected part of the too small cup from a really ill fitting size. I have also noticed that women whom are pendulous tend to wear their bras too low, they wrap their bra around where their breasts sit naturally instead if shoving the wire underneath their breast and up to the IMF (which is where the breast tissue stops on the sternum underneath/below the breast). I think you may also have short roots, so when the bra is properly placed you will likely get more gaping at the top. This bra fits a very special breast and I think this is just a shape mis-Match for you. ^.^

Thank you, LeProfessor! I didn't realize at all that I could even wear a bra too low - I just sort of put it on and figured whatever way it was on had to be the correct way! When I was still much heavier I was just more concerned about keeping everything "strapped in" that I never tried at all to properly measure or learn about my shape. If I could close the hooks and still breathe it was good enough O_O

Typically/generally speaking the band should sit at about mid upper arm level. I had to force myself to start wearing them higher up on my torso as well and I am quite small breasted. Good luck on your journey!

I completed my measurements twice, both alone and with help. I think this might be because I have very little breast *tissue*. I lost just short of 100 pounds this year (I had a weight loss surgery in spring) and my breasts are extremely soft and malleable. They just sort of....flop out there.
